This is the second addition to our new teardrop camper. This awning came with the LED light kit which I totally forgot about when it arrived. Thanks for watching and leave any questions in the comments below.

Thank you for posting this informative video. I notice that the crossbars you used to mount the awning are quite close together. Do you find that the stowed awning is completely stable while you're towing the trailer?

Great question! The crossbars are 32" apart. The awning is 100% stable. Absolutely no wiggle whatsoever. In fact, I often use the awning to pull myself up to strap something down or pack up the tent and there is no give at all. Thanks for watching and if you have any more questions post them here.

Thanks for posting this! When I saw your video about the Fantom TD, I decided to get one too! Should be placing an order soon I hope. I noticed you went with ARB instead of the Smittybilt they offer. Any reason why? I'm also thinking of doing the same because I want to add the walls to the awning so that my dogs or others can sleep in it.

Thanks for watching. You won’t be disappointed with your camper. I went with ARB because I liked ARB’s add ons better. I just bought the room annex and am working on a video for it. I don’t believe there is much of a quality difference between the two. I’ve been very happy with the ARB.

Another question, what do you do to protect the galley area from rain? Originally I wanted to do a 270 awning on the other side and have it swing around to cover the galley area but now I don't think it'll work because the galley door will hit the awning arm. In addition, I'm not sure it would stop the water from getting into the galley from the roof side. Have you found a solution to protecting the galley from rain?

Alejandro Diaz Good question. My original plan was a 270 also, but they aren’t tall enough. They make awnings specifically for that purpose just google the images and you’ll see tons of options. It hasn’t rained on us yet during the times we need it open so it hasn’t been an issue and is on the back burner for us. Any more questions please ask, always glad to discuss.

@@southeastadventures7897 thanks for the tip, I did find some ideas. Nothing super convincing but I might just ask Denise and Jeff what they recommend when I pick the teardrop up next year. We ended up ordering ours with very similar set up as you, minus the diamond plate on the sides (but I do like that option a lot). We also went with the internal ac unit. Thanks for the inspiration! I wouldn't have found fantom if not for your videos!

What side does the LED light strip connect to on the awning? Front side of your camper or back? Thanks for making these videos too! I've been referencing them OFTEN! Planning on putting in an order for one soon!

Thanks for checking the videos out! The strip lights connect on the front side of the camper. The cord is long enough where I can throw it over the top of the awning and connect it to the 12v cigarette plug in galley underneath where the refrigerator/cooler slides out.

The awning didn’t come with the brackets? And the brackets didn’t come with the necessary hardware? 🤨

You are correct. Kind of crazy but that's why I'm doing the videos. The brackets are sold separately and even then don't come with the nuts and bolts needed. Not a big deal though. Really easy install though once you have all of the material needed.
