G’day mate. Yes, I’m Australian. I just wanted to commend you on your series of videos for your build. Very informative and I like the way you problem solve. I’ll be starting my own build soon and appreciate all the great information you have provided. I really like your design too so I might just have to steal a few ideas off you. I’m an Australian Military Veteran and a project like this will help with my mental health. Keep up the great work and enjoy the great outdoors. Cheers, David.
Waynego Productions It is mate. I have a few friends that travel around Australia constantly. Sold their homes and go from place to place. That to me sounds like freedom. I mainly want to get to, those fishing spots, and into the National parks and just get away from all the noise of cities. All the best mate. Love to see some pictures of your adventures in the teardrop. Cheers, David.
@@davidgillard4995 I made it around Australia pretty well but I flew several times while there. I really would like to make it to Perth and Kimberley area.
Waynego Productions The Kimberly is stunning. I live in the Northern Territory for 6 years while serving in the Air Force. Hope you can get over here again someday.
Hello from Scotland. Good wee video and made me laugh as we have all been there trying to erect the awning on our own. Not sure if you have had a couple of practices now, a wee tip when putting the awning together I found made it easier. Make sure your front poles can’t extend when you first let them down, that way you’re not reaching up to try attach the roof poles. Then one at a time, push the roof pole tight in against the front bar and twist to secure. Once you have one side like that the rest is easy. Keep us posted and Stay safe 🏴👍
That would be too tall. I'm right at the limit for the height of the room now. There was a company that was making a room that had a zipper floor. They also had an extension you could zip in to make the taller. Don't remember which company it was though
I have only had it out once with the awning on. ARB does the same when recommending 24". As of right now I am just letting it ride. I had no problem deploying the awning and room though.
I would guess the thule bars would give out before the actual rack mounts. The rack mounts are secured with 1/4 inch stainless steel bolts (4 each) that go all the way through the sidewall and fastened with nylon nuts. I think those Thule bars are rated at 200 pounds but I don't remember right off hand
@@Waynegoproductions I figured...and what do you think the trailer would hold? I've got a similar design and am considering throwing a roof top tent up there. Trying to figure out if that's foolish :)
Then I used fiberglass cloth and epoxy to waterproof the roof. I used the 3.25 oz from Raka. I used their 127 Resin and 350 Hardener www.raka.com/fiberglass_cloth_sub.html
