These are excellent boots. I´ve had mine for about a year now. Great multi purpose treework footwear. Also, practically no wear-in time, so they never were uncomfortable, and they take a good battering. I use them with spurs too, and nevr found them too small.
Thank you for your honest review and I like how good they held up. I was looking for a new boot because it's almost winter here and I like that they stay waterproof for 18 months. Thanks man.
I've had my Evo 2s for a little over 2 year and I ended up using them for climbing and working, just happened that way. I agree though they have handled it amazingly and I'm going to grab a new pair as well. Only other boot I have considered is the Arbortec Scafell lights but I love my Evo 2s for sure!
excellent review..i recently moved away from the arbpro's and bought a pair of salewa boots....im going back to arbpro's...I wasn't happy with the durability but I will deal with it.they are the best boots for spurless climbing .....I did a video about the different boots I tried recently I probably put that up in a week or two stay safe stay healthy
Thanks for watching Scott , they have an updated version its supposed to be more durable it's in the description. Also they have another expensive more durable looking pair, worth checking out. 🤘
2 years is a long time for work boots to last, I go threw a pair a year and I've tried a lot of boots( I do construction, I'm not an arborist) through I do climb and do take down trees for friends and family. More of a hobby for me. But great review on the boots 👍
i had the arb pro original and they were great. recently bought drayer climbing boots. they are great for xlimbing but standing in bucket all day they start hurting my feet, gonna go back to the arbpro
Nice Dustin! I may have to get these! My feet hurt in my Haix boots now a days! I have the Haas velox as well with the foot strap and now I know I don't have to buy the other version to be able to clip on to the boots! Thanks for the review my man!
Hey no problem thanks for watching man, the updated ones have some new features apparently but I'm sure you've looked at them, like durability is better and stuff.
@@PoplarMechanic thanks man trying to stay healthy and productive throughout this pandemic lol. On the bright side I'm working hard on wearing out my akimbo. I'm really getting it dialed in awesome tool. Hope you guys stay healthy to and sping is here sorta, snow in Ontario this morning 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 gotta love it
Oh how I love these boots. They are so convenient for SRT guys like us unfortunately I collapsed the arch in my L foot back in 08” when I bailed out of a Blackhawk helicopter and landed wrong. Didn’t bitch once all 1000M up that Korean hillside but realized going down the back side wasn’t going to happen and had to be extracted lol. It still causes me pain and climbing in these things on the pick is a dream because of the metal shank in em but man does it hurt something bad after a long day walking around in them. I will still rock em if I know we’re going to have a short day but day in day out ain’t going to happen for me although I wish I could make em work. These boots are most definitely pimpin. Stay safe brotha thanks for sharing 👍
Nice Balanced review. I'm going on close to 2 years on my Clip N Steps, and I still really like them. I'd like to give the Evo's a go, but I still have another pair of the Clip N Step boots in a box waiting to be used. So, I'll have to wait on giving the Evo's a go.
Seems like getting them new then having the hook step reinforced sowed and adding bicycle grip tape on sides would help..maybe.but a year is good for pair of non logging boots
Thanks for the vid. I have looked at these several times and still not quite convinced that there is enough heel to suit me for spur's. After this I may go ahead and give them a try.
Brad metcalf ive been running these boots since beginning of last season and i definitely would recommend them. I thought the heel would be a problem but i havent had an issue with them
Nice review,I've seen a few coworkers buy those ,I feel like they don't hold up long enough ,after like 6 months my coworkers boots looked like ugz ,maybe just a bad pair ,I stocked to scarpa, kalyand and zamberlan hiking/backpacking boots ,one day maybe I'll get a pair I like the strap to clip on knee ascender that part looks convenient
Do you not worry about smashing your toes or chainsaw strikes when ringing up timber on the ground? Good candid review and I respect your opinion as a climber who knows his shiz 👍🏼
Well ya you make a good point, they are not the best for ground jobs, I use them primarily for climbing, also obviously I use them on the ground sometimes but they are not optimal for felling jobs and stuff. Very nice to spurless climb in.
I'm in medicine hat, but ya its not that difficult, you could even use soft jaws and put the piston right in the jaws, just make sure its true, mine wasn't perfect with the holder but it worked lol
@@tdillpickleh4684 they are the best imo, just be aware on some devices the neck tether won't come out and it could potentially choke you if you were knocked out , so far I havnt had issues.
