As a Leafs fan, I have nothing but respect for Xhekaj. He's tough as nails, plays physical, is a solid defender, and can throw bombs. In a game that is declining (imo) I really enjoy tuning in to watch him play. Sucks that players like him are becoming extinct

What I want to know is why he wasn’t drafted? Teams gotta be kicking themselves for that, and the OHL already made that mistake once. C’mon man! What I like is that he can flat out play, he doesn’t have to fight to contribute, he can play regular minutes, but he sure AF fight!, and he’s not dirty, gonna hit hard, but not cheap or dirty. Not as talented as Larry Robinson, but similar mold. Sens have drafted very well last few years, wish they picked up this dude! Go Sens Go(Habs too, except when playing the Sens)

Therein lies the issue - no call when the Montreal player was facing the boards and Reaves checked him, causing the second Montreal player to defend his teammate. If the NHL wishes to eliminate fighting from the game they need to crack down on those hits between the numbers, which are what causes the gloves to get dropped anyway.

Normally after a big hit fights just piss me off, take a number and get him back with your own big hit. . But Reaves hit Guhle square in the numbers and there wasn't really a situation where that wasn't going to happen. These two will have ample opportunity to decide which is the toughest kid on the block as they play 3-more times with 2 of those in Montreal. I'd say the next time they meet we're probably looking at a classic toe to toe tilt and that kid Xhekaj has some raw strength. As tough as Reaves is, I'd say he'll have his hands full with the kid. Should be fun to watch.
