80s and 90s were fantastic for arcade games. I 'm glad I was of that generation to experience them... Good thing MAME exists to replay them again for FREE!
Oh the glory of Arcades! i recall people used to melee enemies all the way to the boss just to avoid wasting ammo on that that Super gun. They only fired it if absolutely necessary. Two quick shots and the boss is dead. (double crane, wrecking ball)
@@dukes8359 Yeah, but considering the size of the explosions when you shot something (remember when Clarence was demonstrating the "state of the art bang bang" in the movie?)... well, I really wonder how Robocop was able to shoot the criminal without killing the hostage at 6:28. :)
@@jasonlee7816 Aesthetics are to the eye of the viewer. I think that the art is sharper and more striking than the sequel for example. As for the deluded thinking comment, try learning to be civil in discussions and less arrogant
@@biged3561 True, especially when it did stuff like remove the ability to jump and add some hard boss fights (like the one that has an innocent held hostage, and shooting said hostage actually drains health).
@@jeremyriley1238 I thought the NES hostage boss was pretty ingenious. How can you properly challenge a 5 year old playing a shoot'em up? Make him wait.
Damn bro! You're a beast. An absolute savage at this. Your timing is impeccable. As a kid in the 80s, robocop was the bane of my life lol. Biggest coin muncher ever imho. I've obviously completed it since. But it just wasn't happening for me in the late 80s. 👏👏👏
I remember seeing this game in the local arcade back in the late 80's, but I never played it. I remember this arcade game always having people playing it all the time. Mostly because the Robocop 1 movie had just came out, and it was all the buzz at the time.
The arcade version in the game appears in the Nickelodeon shows All That (from 1994 to 1997) and Kenan and Kel. However both shows shared the same cabinet, but with different fictional marquees.
The gameplay is similar to Data East's arcade game Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja, released earlier the same year. Robocop is a hybrid game, featuring elements from both beat 'em up as well as run and gun games.
HAMSTER Corporation, the people behind the Arcade Archives series, recently obtained the rights to some Data East titles. I hope they get the rights to this game as well.
Looks so much better than the nes version. There is some kind of arcade machine emulator that can play games like this and T2 but they are non standardized and weirdly complex and I could never get one to work.
oh, wow. i love this game so much. it´s perfect. would love to see a remake of this game with optimised graphics. hello KICKSTARTER. 1987 o-robocop it´s the best game & movie of the whole series
Hey,Cubex....I wanted to ask you a question:What do you mean when you put a (a) in the title? Another version of the game... Merry Christmas! and thanks for the awesome longplays...
I think that Ocean's 8bit game came first, then the coin op, they have similarities. The Amiga/ST versions probably based on the coin op. 0:25 you see licenced from Ocean
Why does he need to dodge bullets, anything under 50 cal bounces off him. It takes intense sustained fire from a literal PLATOON with rifles (m16 and etc) to make him stumble.
Quando surgiu Golden Axe, lembro mais do Cristo Redentor/RJ ano 1990. Prefiro Geat Goorisns que nao vi mais, como alguns cines que fecharam e deixam saudade.
