Happy to see the update fixed a lot of those issues, still agree with you this is not a must own, I don't agree that it will hold it's price, I expect these to be on sale within a couple of months.
Hello, fellow Buffalonian! West Side here lol. Subbed to you to support the Buffalo fam, and a great review. Am on the fence a bit when it comes to racing cabs, but I may get one for a different feel in my ghetto-cade lol. If I had more room there'd be no question tho. Glad to see the update fixed a lot of issues, and that it controls better. Hope to see more reviews from ya, and if you have the A1Up app, I'll add you
Love seeing dudes from Buffalo commenting! Hit me up if you want to test it out. I got real custom racers in the garage now too. Building arcades is my full time gig
Great looking cabinet, but the link feature makes it a must have to me. Linking 2 cabinets so you can play against friends and family makes fun factor and replay ability skyrocket. 👏🏻👍🏻
The linked idea is from raw thrills. They offered it to 1up last minute apparently as a feature. The game already has this feature in the original code. The developer of each game will determine what features are released. Well that and how much 1up is willing to pay.
is it just me, or do you need to get a screwdriver and loosen those screws and pull that dangling plastic off that is stuck under the screws on the bezel?? Nice vid, thx for the review after the update!
Isn't the saying for racers your brain can't tell the difference between 30 fps or higher. But if the game play dips below 30 you'll notice. So hopefully it's a consistent 30 fps.
I contacted Buy Stuff: they are going to make the same mod they did for Ridge Racer (add more racing games) and will be adding the ability to add 3rd party pedals.
My entire life playing Fast and Furious arcade, I had no idea you can just perform a front flip (brake stand) on command by doing what I can only assume is you pushing both the gas and brake petal at the same time. Drifting only requires pumping the gas once while steering.
Even though you are excited with the updates, which improve the game play overall. You don't let that get in the way of what a consumer would think if it is worth it or not. You are illustrating the pros and cons with the cabinet overall. And that is one thing that annoys me about modern video game companies in general with update patches and stuff. Then you have to do an update so the game is better and at times actually playable. lol I still think you are one of the most honest of the people I've watched review this cabinet. And that I can totally respect man. Great review and critiquing! But no way is this better than Ridge Racer. lol I love my PC modded RR! Of course it also helps that I have nostalgia and memories with Ridge Racer in the arcades and PlayStation but zero for F&F.
even though i do not have neither of them , from what i have been seeing i do not agree with you. The replay value is way more on FeF as opposite to ridge race. There is no comparison whatsoever, inmy opinion. The linking capability is the major factor, without it, i would have agreed with you for sure.
@@andfonseb That's okay. We all have our own views on things.Honestly by doing research I can tell that the game they put on the F&F cabinet is a tweaked console port. If you look at the Cruisn' Wii game it looks close minus them adding tweaks in the F&F A1up cabinet to make it look like the arcade which graphically it clearly is not. lol If I pre-ordered the F&F I would have cancelled after hearing on what was on it. They should have told us the from the beginning. But hey if people like the cabinet and the games even with it's flaws. Then that's cool. I just wouldn't be satisfied. lol
There's probably a big window between the time they put the software onto the board and when it was released in stores. I don't see the big deal about having the proper version of the game ready to go at about the same time the cab was released. 100 percent of the people buying these things have internet access to update the software.
It’s a cool shifter but will prob make more sense for Daytona in the future I don’t think you need to shift more than one time during gameplay I noticed yesterday that people were bumping into walls to much n controls looked loose I know the game well So I knew that has not the right feel
I've tried to run F&F on my PC modded Ridge Racer and the steering is janky and it's like you are driving drunk. lol I've even messed with the steering controls and still can't get the car to center while racing and have to constantly fight with the wheel. I couldn't run Supecars or Superbikes as when I try to launch them, they crash in TeknoParrot. F&F Drift I can't seem to find a good download.
Current gen games may need day 1 patches due to different hardware. 10-20 year old arcade games running on the same board should not need a day one patch to make it playable, and that is the 1up norm, and accepted.
Hopefully, its just a matter of time before it arrives in Canada. I'd buy it for $850 CAD. But to drive over and pay NY state tax and than Cdn duty and taxes, No Thank you. Yeah for Timmies!
I actually hope its a short cabinet (between 3'5" and 4' *without* the riser) i say this so we can put a seat in front (maybe a gaming chair) and as a 5 foot guy i can play the game like a sit down cab. Thats just me tho😅
I never played the real arcade but this isn’t the real arcade version either. I can confirm like I mention in the video that the controls are fixed and is a night and day improvement.
I can massively see the difference in your game play. Before you were all over the place hittin walls and looked like you had zero control. Now looks like you are playing a different game.
