When Arcade1up announced that they would be releasing a Killer Instinct cabinet for sale, I was excited because it had one of my favorite games in the world on it, Killer Instinct 2. So I plunked down my money and put that order in ASAP! I didn't want to rush out a review on the product so I took my time to give you the best possible review that I could possibly give you. Great review MOAT! Spectate mode was in the arcades back in the day! Loved watching a good match waiting for my turn with my tokens on the cab.

I have power/firmware and network issues. Replacement PCB is on order. I connected to Ethernet today and still couldn't update... Great review. The audio is trash to me, your right not to push past 9!

Just got mine today. Had it for snes and Part 2 for N64......I practiced for months and became an expert so I'm happy to finally get one of these!!

Killer Instinct was after my time (I played arcade games in the 70s, 80s, 90s) but your enthusiasm for the games and just how cool the cabinet looks make me want to get this. I am in an apt and do not have much room for more cabinets (5 and a toyshock pinball machine). I wonder how you rank the KI cab vs the other ones you have (like marvel vs capcom, just got that)

Yo yo. Great points my dude. I thought my J panel was just wrong. 1000% agree on the deck edge...I was like they fixed it...sort of?!? Same with marquee and the wings from the legacy...it's sort of fixed but still there....

Apparently all of our j Panels ended up like that. Not a big deal though. It plays lol

My only complaints about the KI cabinet was the input lag for Orchid's spinning blade move. Also, there were couple glitches: Players get stuck in a corner. Game crashes when you beat the game, it doesn't show the end credits, it took you back to the main menu. Code Mystic needs to fix those issues.

Your lucky mine crashes constantly. Sometimes before I even chose a game.

@jennings Mills Mine often crashes usually happen when doing an Ultra or any finisher. I also experienced a new glitch on Sabrewulf's ultimate on KI2 where he electrocuted you, but you don't burned into a crisp.

@MikeOfAllTrades I believed almost everybody who bought KI cabinet had the same issues as me, but there are some customers had a power on issues with their KI cab.

3:54 how do you turn the lights on for the control panel where the buttons and joysticks are? I just got my killer instinct cabinet and haven’t figured it out yet. Also my graphics seem really Shitty on killer instinct 1 and 2 but the battle toads looks really nice.

Try messing with the scanline settings to get the graphics on KI/KI2 to your liking

I’ll argue Battletoads the Arcade Game is better than TMNT. Why is it on the cabinet? Simple answer >same license provider & it’s a solid game that gets overlooked. I’m stoked it’s in this cab. I also don’t mind the the old school Battletoads 8 & 16 bit games as bonus additions, but they should throw in Battlemaniacs & perhaps even Battletoads & Double Dragon. Code Mystics, make it happen🐸

From what I understand, they can only do what they're contracted to do because the community have been asking for them to implement 3 player Battletoads arcade which they can't because of the ROM that was chosen. Maybe A1Up will address it in a future update

Dang bro, I remember playing this back in 1995 at my local spacie parlour (Space City) … I got to spend all my pocket money on K.I that day then walk home cos I spent my bus money too lol 😂 Back in the day you were lucky to even look at the screen man, that’s how packed it was around this one arcade at the local every single day! Thanks for checking it out! When we saw it at Summerfest, it was the same way. Just a line of people waiting to play with their quarters on the glass of the screen. Took forever but I got on just to get bodied. Didn't see it again until Aladdin's Castle and they had KI2 at that time. It was crazy to me. It's a great game; I just need to learn it lol

Killer Instinct is my favorite Super Nintendo game. Back in the day I didn’t play KI in the arcade, but I still had to get the KI 1up. KI2 is fun but also a letdown, my favorite character cinder is removed on the N64 and Arcade.

Thanks for the review, Moat. I bought one on sale ($499) arriving tomorrow, but not sure I want to keep it. Because I AM sure I would get wiped out online. Lol. 49 way gate??? Maybe a 16 at most. 49 way joysticks achieve that using 16 way gate X 3 degrees of force = 48 + Center - 49. Like Blitz uses, almost an analog stick.

Nah the arcade version I get. It's the console versions but I know that A1U does that. Plus the NES easter egg when you pause the game lol
