Massive respect to the sound team for having a unique theme for each fight! I feel like they could have gone the easy route and made the first three all share a theme similar to M1's, but I'm so happy they didn't. This'll make Savage even more fun to prog :)
Love when songs give additional details about who you fight. MGR did it, and here FFXIV does it again, but this is such a personally hedonistic motive it's such a good left field!
2:20 this part gives suuuchch like a so deliciously poisoning melody in the back, along her charming voice, it also gives me a bit like vintage feel almost? Like a twisted delight. I also happened perfectly at the hearts phase!
Like a lot of artist whose only skill is to convincingly lie in camera. And yet people trust them. :) To be honest. You are more likely to get an honest opinion from a bum on the street than from someone trained to convincingly lie.
I don’t know who they got to sing this but she absolutely nailed that sickly sweet tone and cadence. If this song wasn’t sung as good as it is I don’t think I could stand it!
Making this as a theme for a raid boss that people will spend hours progging savage in is certainly a choice, I am terrified and morbidly excited in equal measure.

Fun Fact: Her small swing-around in the Intro cutscene is actually just the Astrologian Female Victory Stance without an actual AST weapon, with her turning her head around to the crowd instead of looking at where the weapon is supposed to be and she stops her animation before she reaches for the AST weapon, frozen on the arm pose. DT seems to be the expansion where the game acknowledges the Warrior of Light is actually very powerful even by the standards of superpowered people and they are leaning into that.
@@Loispealz34 I love her JP voice and is so 100% what you would hear doing announcements at an arcade lol. And she nails it well dropping the cutesy persona near the end. But gotta say her english one is so fun as well. Just stellar performance overall

I had this nightmare that Savage never stopped the hearts mechanic, it was just on field from start to finish while dealing with other stuff. But that was just a dream, there’s no way that’s real….
I think you will die a lot more from the random stingers without telegraph. The camera will be your biggest enemy and cheaters with the camera in the moon will be the first to clear.
The worst part is that would be a thing they would do for savage because they know that heart mechanic is already complex, so it may be guaranteed at this point.

Giving it another listen, this kinda reminds me of "Philistine" from No More Heroes. A cutesy song where the singer is threatening to kill you, and trying to punk you out.

Small detail I like about this fight: In the opening cutscene you can see her face drop into worry for a second when she looks at the player character, then she puts the smile back up. Small allusion (imo) that her whole thing is just putting up a facade for the crowd to fulfill some need for love that she craves. Sucks we don’t see her after this, I hope she shows up again later.
