Yoshi-P when making this expac: "Yeah I've been playing a bunch of Xenoblade..." Seriously, I'm seeing a lot of Xenoblade similarities in this expansion. Even the story of this raid. Warriors are made to fight till their 20th term before they are sent off
For those wondering what the seemingly random poison breath is about: The Green Mist is a classic heel move in NJPW, which they are clearly channeling in this raid series.
@@Tazrael I don't think it's planned. They know he always cheats, but it makes for good entertainment. In a more traditional sense it brings in more money by planting more asses in the seats and has more people tuning in. In this case, it's that and whatever their true motive is.
@SilverRainCain I'm unsure if I'm the one you meant to tag. The both of us were mentioning the wrestling lore reason for the poison, not the in character reasons
do love how much of wrestler this guy was, from hopping off the ropes to attacking the ref, even using poison mist, something more common with the japanese side of wrestling
Not just wrestler, they perfectly captured the whole "villain" shtick in wrestling. The way he even kicks away the referee and Metem just going "This Scoundrel!" in a not serious tone
I love that the whole raid series is just the plot line to a WWE fight. You have the young upstart, the established wrestlers, a meddeling chairman and a returning legend. I we don't do a tag team match at some point I will be surprised!
I'm glad we got to fight a legit Heel. And not like an antagonist, I mean a *villain* in the kayfabe sense, doing illegal moves and even drinking a contraband monster can
99% certain that his doping was planned since they do nothing to actually stop him after he's "disqualified". Wouldn't be surprised if the whole raid series turns out to be an elaborate WWE plot we got tricked into believing
My favorite part of this raid i floor is that it has so many details linked to WWE. Like, after the 2nd phase, whenever he start to use the Signature lariat combo. Instead of charging, stopping and then charging back. Once he does the first charge of Lariat, he even uses the ropes from the ring to push himself back and instantly execute 2nd charge like the WWE moves. Also, the referee part is priceless.
@@กิตติธัชอรุณสุขสถิต Here to report that the Bombardian Special in Savage has a dive from the corner rope. It's a knockback in Phase 2 and the Enrage for Phase 3.
This raid is trying to remind us that a feline, bee and a bomber are still considered weak mobs in Final Fantasy standards. That this Light-Heavyweight encounter is only the beginning. I can't wait to see what badass feral souls we'll get to see in later tiers.
This fight is a TRIP as healer. After he juices up you have to be on top of it as healer cause the raid wide can just kill everyone. And may the twelve help you if you're low on health after the fact
A bunch of the stack marker attacks in DT are way, way more dangerous than they ever used to be! Made me panic a bit when I first got started, but now I appreciate the extra challenge. Makes healing feel worthwhile.
Keen Xenoblade fans might spot that Timothy Watson - the voice of Urianger - is also the voice of Metalface/Mumkhar from Xenoblade, with him bring back that voice for this fight lmao.
I mean... We have an additional shard compared to everyone else (Unless homeboy isn't from the source, in which case he's only 1 shard) and access to literal space-time bending summoning magicks. So that's not entirely incorrect.
True, but given the timeline of things, the Milala probably skipped out on the 6th Calamity, so she might be a shard behind. If anything, though, that just means the her being able to keep up with the rest of us mighty impressive, if that is indeed how magick works.
This is just Grynewaht from Stormblood. "BOOM!" "DIE DIE DIE!" but without the "WE ALL GO TOGETHER!" and "...like all my namedays have come at once." And I love it.
And nappa due to the flame summoning hand gesture he does, similar to the attack nappa does to wipe out a city upon landing on earth where he points a finger upward in the same manner
God, the wonderful tune of this really brings me back to the days of listening to CROW'SCLAW on repeat. Jamming out to this puts a huge grin on my face.
Absolutely bitchin fight, crazy and highly damaging, addictive as hell, just like the tunes of CROW'SCLAW for real. Hope we get more tunes like this in the next stages!
Me before this fight: viper has 3 slither and rattler's coil charges this seems overkill. Me after experiencing lariat combos frequently: nevermind. Such a fun raid tier!
@Cherryblossoms110 i don't think so. I was making viper work fine, just made sure i held on to two rattler's unless it was about burst time. The melee jobs all have enough gap closers, disengagement, and/or high potency ranged skills that they can make being temporarily out of melee work. We were spoiled last expac with hit boxes larger than Texas. The smaller boxes means more skill needed to maintain really high melee uptime.
@@the.duck.is.ronin. I think it's actually Scathach. the ribbons on the sides remind me of the shadow hands. Estinien in that outfit is one hell of a mental image though, lmao.
So many references in this single fight, the opening scene even references nappas attack he does as soon as he lands on earth in dbz(when he summons the rings fire hazard)
The "This is my destiny", the "Boom!"s, the triumphant melody of winning the champ, I know people are not greatly fomd of this fight as much as the other ones, but boy, is Brute Bomber my favorite by far. Fun in and throughout!
Also, the enrage of the fight in Savage is one of the coolest stuff I've ever seen in this game. Congrats on the devs for making every single fight in the tier feel so fun and unique. I could even go as far as to say I've... Had a blast 🙂↔️
My experience with this fight last night: qued as dancer since it was the only class I had high enough. In retro, I wished I pushed harder to get sage up. It got to the point that I was one of few people alive. Definitely some people were having lag issues, but the healing seemed to be struggling a lot. We wiped and wiped until they voted to abandon. I left to reset the timer and requed, a little pissed at this boss by then. We killed it on our first attempt. I barely got hit by anything and even got to lb in his face. Felt like I really earned the victory cermony afterwards
@@KakaowyKruk This implies i remember a single one of those fights in sufficient detail to care. It was Awesome. A wrestling heel chewing the damn scenery so damn hard even the ref went flying, the music keeping me pumped, with satisfying mechs to boot.
@@Aernoth1unironically, and considering the direction the series is taking, that might not too far fetched. We might not fight Vince, but his equivalent
Honestly, when I heard this song I expected it would be his first cover from this raid. I thought the same thing about Vanguard as the first dungeon he would cover, so waiting to see if I go 2 for 2
