@@nopenope5035 For all the praise this show gets, I get the impression under these videos, that allot of people dont know jack shit about human behavior.
I think Sevika would be better for that, she has the same objectives as Silco, maybe she will lead now that Silco is dead, Jinx is kind like Darius, he is the hand of Noxus, the general, a power house ready to cleave their enemies, while Swain is the one that is in charge and leading the nation to greatness... Jinx is the Nuke of Zaun, she is too powerful now augmented with shimmer, but she needs someone to guide her... Sevika and Jinx don't like each other (At least for now) but maybe they could work that out (Zaun needs Jinx to be independent, Piltover fears her) But her mind is F*ked now, maybe too dangerous to try lead/control.
well..what's the point in being a father if he can't leave a better world for his daughter to inherit? What's the point in building an empire if it doesn't outlive him as a shining beacon that Villains Get #$@#$ Done? Jinx might not be sane but she commands fear and how to get #$@$ done (when she isn't losing her #$@#$) which is good enough for him.
Spoilers. It’s possible Jinx could take over the undercity as leader in season 2 because from what I saw, it seems after Silco’s death, she had gained a sense of clarity, it was the most sane I have seen her. When she spoke to Vi and launched that rocket, she knew exactly what she was doing, and now that she has chosen to be Jinx, she no longer has the conflict within herself about being Powder or not. Jinx is all that remains and if that’s the case, now that she has nothing pulling her back and forth, she might be much more stable and able to lead Zaun, with hopefully Sevika’s help. I could be wrong of course, but she just seemed much more sane in her final scenes.
Love the body language on display here. 1:42 he inhales the same air without struggling at all, just to show he doesn't even need the mask. At 2:27, he uses it anyway, then drops it on Finn as a symbolic gesture, like saying 'You only have what you have because _I gave it to you_ , ingrate.'
@@zzirfamo24 He grew up breathing that air in the mines of the undercity. Somehow, he developed some resistance. This, plus the fact that he situates himself in the middle of The Lanes and lives like an Under-sider. The Chembarrons situate themselves high above the lanes and even filter fresh air to themselves, they live like, "Top-siders," and thus can not handle the air.
The fact that the poluted air doesn't affect him in any way makes this the ultimate power move, even the flowers died in that short time and Silco stands there like it's nothing
I interpreted it that Silco didn't forget his roots and reason for his fight against Piltover while the Chem-barons were naive and complacent after living a good life at the top.
plants don't change *that* fast unless the chemical reaction is so vile it sucked all the moisture out. Especially with that much biomass. I admired Silco's lung (or any Zaunites's in that room) but wtf is that gas???
Jeez I was looking for this comment what a cool and intense detail for Silco’s character. It’s also clearly symbolic cuz the flowers are all carnivorous plants I think symbolizing the barons they’re beautiful and deadly (to insects) but still just delicate plants in a hostile environment
@@trungkienngo6267 lmao no. He definitely can tolerate zaunite gas much better. How else can you talk without exhale air? Even at 1:41 we could see he take a breath without the rebreather
Here's a small detail you may miss, Vander smokes the same gas silco released to threaten the chembarons in episode 1, he just smoke it as if it was nothing
@@trungkienngo6267 He didn't hold his breath, it's showing how Silco is one of the oldest Zaunites who had it the worst. That's why he is pushing for independence so harshly and is so pragmatic - he's willing to do whatever it takes to ensure his home can be improved. The rest of them are profiteers, greedy, drunk on the power that Silco offered them. His vision is change. Their vision is riches. This is why Vander garnered so much respect from him when they were younger - he was fierce in his desire for freedom. To Silco, all this shit is a means to an end. He doesn't care about riches, doesn't care about throwing his weight around. He just wants a better future for his people, and will do almost anything to obtain it. If his henchmen forget their place and why Silco is doing what he does, then it's his job to put them back there.
I just noticed that silco was willing to talk it out at first and not immediately resorting to suffocating them. But the moment Finn bad mouthed jinx and questioned his authority then *that’s* when he did it
I have to disagree; the air circulation fan is shut down at 0:45, before Jinx is mentioned. Silco came with the box of respirators in hand - this "object lesson" was going to occur no matter what.
How is that petty? Reminding the "aristocracy" of an oppressed people that they are infact an oppressed people. Even if they're sitting pretty personally.
@@abyssalzei552 those guys where literally trying to overthrow him for their own personal gain, while all of Silcos life and endeavours have been for a cause. For Zaun. Reminding them in a threatening way of where they came from, if they try to get rid of him isnt petty at all.
The animation work is phenomenal for Finn as he tries not to gasp and eventually succumb. I've seen people getting affected by choking agents and try to breathe normally and fight against the choking reflex. It's exactly like that.
I know you guys have valid snarky replies like wtf, but I guess I should give context. It was part of a HAZMAT training program I was in. It was non-lethal and meant to give trainees first hand experience on the effect.
Silco's disgust at the Chem Barons is quite understandable, given the type of person he is, and how he grew up. Before Silco rose to power, the Undercity was a slum. A godawful pit, where people suffered and died in the dark. And now, after all he sacrificed, even his own "brother", Silco has to deal with entitled, greedy people that whine and complain because they are not getting as much money as before. To him, they are becoming as alienated and detestable as the rich of Piltover. The people he hates the most
As far as I know, in Undercity the districts or territories have always been governed by the Chem Barons, except for The Lanes until Silco arrived, and they have existed since before Silco, so reading your comment made me theorize that perhaps Silco has the only one of the Chem Barons who came from the lowest and poorest places in Undercity, while the others have always lived in the upper part of Undercity and obtained their positions through family inheritance or something like that.
Silco is doing what he's doing to free Zaun. A means to and end. The others are doing it for pure greed. Silco knows what he's doing it's always the nice and peaceful way and requires sacrifice, as Piltover would never give them freedom any other way. He'd sacrifice himself for their city to be free. He just wouldn't sacrifice his daughter.
@@anamilicat6113 What's your source for this? My understanding was that before Silco took power, the undercity was extremely poor and that Silco was the one who turned it into an "enterprise" after Vander's death and once he rose to power. He produces and sells shimmer, which brings in lots of money. And with that money he was able to establish trade routes and other sources of income, as well as distributing the other chemtech that Singed creates. It wouldn't make much sense for them to be called "chem" barons if their title wasn't based on the fact that the industry they are all employed by is propped up by Silco's chemtech (shimmer and the like).
@@nickhy9223 The other chem-barons controlled different territories, similar to other gang leaders. Each region did its own thing and engaged in territorial wars with each other. Uniting the Undercity, as Silco tells Vander, was one of his objectives. He used Shimmer as a carrot to get them to accept his leadership, and they used it to drive chemical technology and the distribution of medicines, etc. Everyone got a share of the profits based on Shimmer, and some also organized the workforce for the factories (like Renni). The Chem-Baron Council is his creation. It's quite likely that Silco organized this council or came up with the name (I'm basing this mostly on what I understand from the story we got in "Realms of Runeterra"). The Lanes are a black market that Vander built with the help of his gang to distribute the goods from their smuggling operation, aiming to stop working in the mines. The Lanes represent a black market and are a small part of the great Undercity.
@@anamilicat6113 Silco say he give the Chem Barons their power, so maybe during the time skip, Silco fight and defeat the old Chem barons, and give the position to new people to keep order in Zaun.
Imagine how much stamina people like vi, jinx and ekko who already have a ridiculous amount of stamina in that awful air must have when they go to a place like piltover.
With the release of renata we actually learned that to people have lived in zaun for so long and have constantly had to breath in the smog. When they go to piltover the air actually hurts them. Renata glasc describes it as "air is so sharp its like glass cutting at my throat" i think
@@happycabbage5407 reminds me of one time when i had to go to a village that was basically cut off from industrial world. i lived in a city with polluted air and breathing in the village felt weird and almost uncomfortable, though the air was fresh
I like Silco. The audacity of this SOB to say "good meeting" before leaving as if he hadn't just suffocate them to near-death is the best. So is the rest of his character. In fact, there are no moustache-twirling asshole in this show. Even Silco who hated Vander for essentially selling him out shared one last drink by his statue, not forgetting the fact that they're brothers. Everybody's got their own conflicts that eventually clash with others'. The build-up was perfect.
I also took him pouring out the drink to signify that he finally understood why his brother had acted the way he did. In act 1 Silco critiques Vander for being "weak" in trying to protect his (adoptive) children. When he's sitting at the statue, he's confessing that he would do the exact same things for his daughter, Jinx. Silco is a fantastic character. Horrific, but incredibly well-written (and great voice acting too).
It was actually more personal than even that with Vander. Vander straight up attempted to assassinate him. They were brothers in arms, and then Silco was betrayed and nearly killed by the person he trusted most. As good of a person as Vander was, Silco had every right to react the way that he did towards Vander. Even throughout it all though, he maintained his respect for him, and towards the end of his arc, he ironically **became** him.
People gush over the visuals of Arcane, and rightly so But god damn, the voice-actors are amazing as well - so much personality is portrayed by the tone and cadence of every line I've seen some people say they didn't like the way Finn slurs his speech. Not only does it portray his careless and casual demeanor, but guys, consider, the dude is the only one in the room with a metal jaw
While I agree, I still think Finn's voice acting was very stiff and the worst in the whole show. I didn't have any problems with any other voice actor, but his sounds the worst by far.
@@Ajaxlancer It's because he's being voiced by Miyavi, a singer and non-native english speaker. I'm not excusing the voice acting, but the dude isn't a voice actor. It's just why he sounds so much worse than everyone else.
@@Ajaxlancer he's speaking in a foreign accent. He's not a native speaker. Why are there different accents in Zaun? Who knows lmao. But he's clearly speaking English as a second language (in character, not just the Voice actor) and second language speakers are generally more stiff as they have to put more thought into words and moving their mouth to accommodate a different language rather than facial expression and tone
@@Yatagurusu The accent has nothing to do with it. Look at a recent movie, Shang-Chi, where a huge portion of the cast learned English as a second or third language. Phenomenal acting from people like Tony Leung. This voice actor was just a poor actor and that's okay.
Finn's outfit cracks me up man. He's like a punk kid trying to cram every cool cyberpunk anime yakuza accessory into one outfit in a desperate attempt to look cool. The end result makes me wanna puke my guts out but it communicates his character so damn well that I can't bring myself to hate it.
@@freshappleseed6966 his tattoos are cool, his outfit is tacky and his jaw thing is stupid. All mixed gives this strange appearance that ends up feeling weird and funny rather than intimidating
for people saying that silco is holding his breath, you can see the masks first introduced when piltover invades zaun in episode 2 or 3, being worn by marcus and the other enforcer who was a sherif at the time. this is the air that zaunites breathe every day of their life, its not TOO toxic to the human body, mainly because it adapted to it for zaunites at least. this is what piltover and zaun are as a difference. one breaths clean air, and the other ones breathes such thick gas filled air that those that breathe out of it for a couple years can possibly even die from choking to death in it.
this actually makes me wonder how long or how many times did cait go down in the underground since when she was with vi she didn’t need or at least wear a mask
@@prediculous8059 guess that was Silco’s doing then since piltover basically ignored the undercity the entire time and piltover did know Silco as the industrialist
Yes, please! I think it totally possible to make entire spin off from him and Vander becoming best friends, leading the revolution and eventually falling apart.
As someone pointed out, the series does wonders with micro-expressions. Here you see him giving faint amusement as they begin to choke, then back to restrained seething all while he remains completely calm his anger never boiling over but remaining just beneath the surface.
I loved this moment. He shows the others that they are literally breathing *his* air, and it ties very nicely into a line he makes later where he laments "having to share the air" with these ungrateful people.
i just love the fact that silco himself doesn't struggle to breathe in the gas.....while even his right hand.......sevika....who has been at this side for god knows how long....uses the gas mask
@@jermaineelisarraraz5562 yea at the time of commenting I haven't watched the series so didn't knew......I meant she In the shady business for long ie she experienced the choaking gas many times b4.......and still wore the mask...coz she knew she would suffocate.....unlike silco who was breathing the gas no problem
I mean, even if you can breathe the garbage air, why would you want to if you don't have to? She was the one who brought in the Zaun Grey so she knew it was coming and could prepare a mask for herself. Silco didn't because his whole power play was about how he could when the other barons couldn't, but he only needed to show himself as powerful rather than his whole cadre.
Anyone else notice the giant ass plant in the back was dead by the time Silco left. That should really highlight just how deadly that stuff they were breathing in is.
@@gameraider100 he essentially pulled an elegant refined and upper class menacing “Will Smith “on him (another earlier comment said it best)… Edit: clarification “Keep my Daughter’s name OUT YOUR F*cking Mouth!”
I liked how that Yakuza chembaron still tried to look tough while the room was filling up with that poison. He seemed like he would rather choke and die than submit to Silco...oh well.
He look tough (and most likely he's, at least he hole himself abit longer than other Chem-barons) but his will isn't strong enough to just die right there & to justified he's toughness. He simply don't want to die there, at least not choking to death, which is understandable. On the other hand, his will are rather weaker compare to Silco. At least Silso choose his moment to stabbed Vander at the back, avoiding his old friend raw strength & strong will to protect his family. Finn on other hand are too cool to even kill Slico himself later on - an older & weaker man, alone in the room without allies (in Finn point if view). Finn look bloody cool, stylist, and had a metal jaw ... but he's isn't as smart as he look, sadly. Edit: if he's smart enough he would have lived longer & appear in Season 2. Oof !
It was refreshing to see a villain that doesn’t just murder his underlings for no reason. When they overstep, and question his authority, he lays down the law and asserts his dominance as a leader. But doesn’t just kill them outright because that kind of leadership would make his people fear him so much that they’d try to kill him out of self preservation. He only deals out death as a punishment when absolutely necessary.
@@masternoob9673not pissing off the boss that almost made me suffocate to death just because I listened to some guy wanting to overthrow him sounds like self preservation to me
Silco knows that true power isn't in destroying a thing, but in being able to do so, and *making sure everyone knows you choose not to.* Holding the whip is enough. Crack it over their heads when you have to. But only strike them when someone's gone too far.
Hands down my favourite scene with silco. It just showcases all of his aspects as a villain; intelligent, radical, resilient, confident and just the right blend between brutal and merciful. The first time I watched this I genuinely didn't know if he was just gonna take the final mask and walk away and let the other guy die.
This show continues to amaze me, because I just noticed this detail. We know that Silco, regardless of how he presents himself, is wildly powerful, charismatic, and unafraid to push boundaries. We know he is dangerous. He can be dressed in rags or look like a king and we know this. His dominance is integral, it comes from the inside and manifests in external ways (the addition of the coat to his wardrobe makes him look physically larger, he takes up space, this is a common thing in narrative costuming). Finn, on the other hand, is the opposite. His confidence and dominance are an external show. Think about his coat. It is an accessory, it is bright and in your face, but most of all, it makes him look larger. I remember looking at him for the first time and thinking ‘damn, this guy is a tank. How the hell are those shoulders supported by that body?’. He looks physically bigger than Silco. But when everything is on the line, Finn’s facade crumples. He and Silco are at eye level, with Silco being a bit taller. The instant that jacket goes, he immediately looks so much smaller than Silco. He looks normal, he isn’t overly muscular, he doesn’t have Silco’s tolerance to the gas. This is even shown in the framing of the shots: Silco takes up the left third of the screen and the shot is from over his shoulder as we watch Finn collapse at his feet, suffocating and weak. In another shot, we are looking at Silco from below, and he takes up most of the screen. This show is genius no wonder it took six years to make-
Those were not "undercity bosses". They were called as chembarons. Also the reason why Silco breaths normally, because he is used to it. See 1:41, he straight up breathe the toxic air, we can even hear it. People in the underground eventually evolved their lungs to tolerate the pollution in Zaun.
@@getpsyked Silco is much older than Sevika, maybe in the early years, Zaun have a very poor air quality and Silco as a kid got used to it, and eventually maybe as the time goes by, the people found way to deal with the pollution in Zaun, such as plants and greenhouses, just like what we can see on the table meeting place. See 1:41, Silco straight up breathed the effing toxic air, you can even hear that he took a breath lmao. “You don't recognize it, do you?” - Silco, maybe this implies that all of those chembarons and Sevika also experience the toxic air before. As I mentioned before, Zaunites evolved their lungs to tolerate the toxic air. It is true, but maybe Silco evolved his lungs even more due to more extreme conditions as a kid. If you were to give the toxic air to the Piltovans, they likely would not to survive, because as we can see, the toxic air kills off the plant, it would have the same effect to human, as it can kill living cells
Silco is such a well written character. On of the best, if not the absolute best, character in whole Arcane and there are others like Jinx or Viktor who also top tier characters. This scene gave me goosebumps.
Another detail yall probably missed: The sunlight begins to fade out around 2:02. When Finn begs for the mask, Silco gives it to him. The room around them is dark and dank. But as soon as Finn gets his mask, breathes in the filtered fresh air again, the sunlight slowly comes back in and shines on Finn. "Too much time in the sun." As Silco puts it.
Isupport studied English with this I restarted English after 10 years I am a beginner studying English with asmr. Please come and take a look and . Thank you!!!♡
My favorite part of this scene and one of my favorite things about this show happens right around 1:04. After fin insults Jinx, there this subtle little twitch of annoyance in his right eye. It's such a great and simple detail. That he's clearly very frustrated with the circumstance but keeping composure. Between the acting, performance capture, and animation, I'm so impressed with this show
This happens after the lady chem baron insults jinx after her kid dies too. Literally everytime someone says shit to jinx silco stops and goes like "watch your mouth" for a second. It's really funny.
Oh crap! I didn’t even notice those big ass plants just flat out died in the background. And Dude was breathing it in like it was nothing?! Damn that is Hard CORE!!! (One month later) 1.7k likes eh? I didn’t expect that, but there it is. 😮
Being backstabbed, worked in the mines, possibly prisoned for no reason could do that to you. (Also a good example is the relationship between Silco and Vander )
Adaptation my friend. People born in Zaun develop tougher lungs bc of the polluted air. If a normal person from our world or even a civilian from Piltover went down there they'd probably suffocate in a few minutes.
Chem barons, pfff...these guys lived topside for so long, they don't even remember the toxic air of Zaun. Knowing Singed is gonna become a chem baron, I'm willing to bet this intimidation wouldn't work on him. He never forgot the taste of Zaun's air.
Silco to Finn "I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions. What's the matter? Oh, you were finished! Well, allow me to retort. Do I look like a bitch?"
I love Silco. Had we been shown him before Vander, you’d think he’s an asshole but not necessarily completely evil. He’s a man who’s hardened his heart due to war and trauma and only seeks to do what needs to be done for his people.
That ever so subtle shiver in Silco’s shoulders when the ant refers to jinx as ‘his dog’ like he is trying not to stab him right there is great animation
Silco didn't want to make a deal with the Topsiders. To him, it would feel like they just stopped fighting and given up easily. And in the end, he wanted to do exactly that; he compromised and was even willing to give back the gemstone. Arcane is amazing at showing how views change and is molded by the circumstances around us.
you can see the reason why sevika stuck with silco that long and why she never betrayed him even after he basically blamed her for jinx mistakes. Because even tho silco has gotten older and she doesnt agree with him on everything his will is still rock solid his methods to achieve what he wants can be just as ruthless and his dream of a free zaun is untainted. he could not be made to compromise to achieve it until he had to sacrifrice the one thing he couldnt.
Exactly, he's only used the wealth and revamping of the undercity as a means to gain independence from topside. He easily could just live comfortably as a kingpin (maybe have a cozy house on the edge of topside to give orders from) but he doesn't.
@@signer0001 "refuses to elaborate" is this generation's "literally". That meme introduced a term to an audience that doesn't know its meaning, so they use it whenever they feel like it.
@@Balloon410 Yep, you are absolutely right. I've noticed the meme used horrifically wrong, like in this instance, on a regular basis. Silco *did* elaborate, quite clearly too; *"The border issue is temporary. Jinx will deal with it."* ..... if Finn had then asked "Can we get an ETA on that?" or something along those lines and Silco just gassed them, THEN it might quality.
@@Archedgar But, that is exactly what Finn did. He didn't renew their confidence in him, he just scared them into submission. So when Piltover attacked and kicked their asses, Finn tried to kill Silco, because he just wasn't doing it for them. The first half of Arcane S1 is the build up to Silco winning and the second half is the buildup to Silco losing, and the reason for both is Powder/Jinx.
@@kjj26k That is not what Finn did. He immediately disrespected both Silco & Jinx, further escalating by basically calling Silco incompetent & weak. Silco responded **very** gently compared to what, say, Renata Glasc would have done. You are wrong & talking nonsense.
What’s so crazy is he is not Just establishing dominance, he is teaching them a lesson, about themselves and their cause. He is reminding them of the hell they escaped from, they are too selfish to realize it.
I'm going to add my own idiotic comment here and would like to highlight the fact that Silco is making a statement when he takes a single breath from the mask. He's showing them all that he's far more disciplined and made of sterner stuff than the chembarons are. For him, fresh air is a luxury, but for the chembarons, it's a necessity. He's been molded by the city itself and has become a part of it, while the chembarons are just parasites that can barely even breathe its air.
I've just noticed Silco's tiny little cough when the gas is first released. Which makes this an even more fantastic scene for reinforcing his character. Silco isn't holding his breath, and he's not breathing just fine either. He may have a greater tolerance to the air in the undercity, but it's still toxic to him. It still hurts. The trick is in not minding that it hurts. And if we've learned anything at all about Silco by this point, it's that he definitely does not mind that it hurts.
Nice use of the plant in the background at first it's beautiful and healthy only for it wither out into a greying died Husk. A nice symbol of what silco has given them. And a reminder that he can take it away.
I noticed that too Amazing detail that can be easily overlooked. I'm going to watch the series again because there are so many things that makes Arcane top notch.
1:59 I like how this literally symbolized a bit of heaven and hell "too much time in the sun" as if Finn was in heaven for too long and forgot how to struggle in hell when he falls the light gets darker showing how he was above heaven for a while and fell down to hell in a matter of seconds showing as he begs for a mask from silco who hasn't spoiled himself in heaven nor let go of his struggle in hell and then when he begs further silco used the mask to take away that glimmer of survival chance Finn had and later on gave him the mask to show that the only reason finn was actually in heaven for a while was because silco struggled in hell for everyone
Too bad he’s a total conniving push-over though. Also not really digging the flashy gangster look. To me Silco is way cooler with his suave yet subtle and reserved look. Finn is all show. Silco is all action.
That chilling, deadly glare that Silco gives Finn at 1:06 when he calls Jinx a “dog,” makes me tremble a bit every time. I love that it’s a lingering glare too and gives the viewers a moment to feel like we are in Finn’s shoes, and having to let the weight of our words sink in as soon as we see Silco’s “Excuse me? What did you just say?” reaction. You do noooooot insult Silco’s daughter if you want to live. Big mistake. Huge. Such great acting and gorgeous animation 🖤🖤🖤
Like how at 2:30, Finn clearly doesn't have light shining on him from the windows, but the next shot that he's shown on the ground after Silco drops the mask to him, it visibly brightens. The little details of this show
Silco's point here kinda reminds me of a quote from my grandma: "If you are well enough to complain, you're fine." Bunch of crooks who used to live in a place they could barely breath, now they're crime lords complaining about money and trade and talking about "settling". Too bad Finn took this personally...
I like that they pulled the "asian stereotype voice" without being too insensitive by giving the guy a fucking metal jaw, yeah i guess your speech would be pretty fucking weird when speaking in a foreign tongue (since Finn looks Ionian) and also lacking a part of your body neccessary for such speech. That's not an Asian stereotype voice, that's just flat out an Asian voice, the voice actor sounds like that there's no need to make taboo to what is just an accurate voice.
@@Yatagurusu I know people sound like that, but sometimes when an accent is introduced somewhere haphazardly and given to someone that looks from a certain ethnicity it seems so much as just "X being thrown in" and it just walks the thin line between representation and stereotyping, and i gave them props for essentially making it so only on multiple and repeated inspection i noticed it and that i noticed a sort of diegetic "explanation" for it.

I have no idea who the voice actor is or if my assessment is correct. But that's what it sounds like. But I shouldn't have to specify. Saying " an Asian accent" should cover it lmao. Just like calling a French accent a European accent doesn't have any Implications beyond that.
1:09 just the inhale alone…that made me get goosebumps. He know’s whats coming, and that makes him the most powerful and dangerous person in that moment. , Just because he has Jinx, doesn’t mean Silco can’t be the most evil MF ever
In this scene, Silco, and his VA killed it. He knows who he is. He knows his home.. He didn’t even need to breathe into that damn thing… he just was sending a message
Silco is actually less dangerous because he has jinx, since jinx is constantly holding him back and he’s still tolerating her because he loves her even refusing to give her up even tho the dream he seeks is already in his finger tips.
The lighting of the scene darkens as the gas became thicker. It darkens the most when Finn starts choking and as Silco drops the mask to him, it brightens up.
