1:15 this moment is tragic to me, right when they decided to give the under-city independence.. when they were really trying to make peace. This happened.
@@nnjjuudd9325 Well, the new leadership after the first war could've changed things for the betterment of the Undercity but never did. So are they really innocent? They never learned from their predecessors mistakes and kept the status quo. Which has lead to the second war for independence. Even Jayce in the scene prior said this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lG_Y-TuDlRY.html&ab_channel=OfficialJPJ They rather have the Undercity burn than to give up power. They don't care about the people of the undercity and they deserved to be punished for it.
This whole show is like a domino effect filled with bad luck and bad choices. It all started when Ekko told them where to rob Jayce and Jinx stole the hexgem. All the pieces fall.
I am concerned that it took Jace years of research to develop hextech........and Jinx, in a matter of weeks, develops a weapon capable of so much destruction.........She is crazy........and a freaking genius
No, Jayce is way smarter than Jinx, because: - Jayce already finish developing that orb crystal to be used. - Jinx stole his notes about orb crystal. - Jayce need years to analyze that orb crystal function, it is like someone developing power while someone else can just stole it.
I remember SCREAMING at my TV during this scene. I was so shocked that they left us on such a cliff hanger. I'm still on the edge of my seat over what'll happen next. Season 2 seriously needs to get here faster.
@@Jrdn357 Jack is right. The CEO of Riot said in an interview that the next season won't be premiering in 2023 at all. The exact quote is "If I had known, we could have started Season 2 way earlier. But we didn't know so we waited a bit and now we're paying the price. So, unfortunately, it's not going to be this year" and that's from Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent
@@davesefoster Yeah, I saw that interview just after I commented, lmao. Fucking sucks, but I'm glad they're focusing on quality and not letting Netflix bully them into finishing early for the sake of profit.
This was what made me cry. The haunting song, the downright beautiful visuals, and the knowledge that not everyone will survive. Caitlyn and Jinx screaming for the same reasons, and Vi unable to do anything. It makes me shiver.
It is a really well crafted season finale. Knowing that when finally the under city was gonna get independence from Piltover... this happened. And you're right, the song couldn't be more accurate: "What could've been"
@@thatguy1507literally so if they did all died they all got killed right after they decided to go through with the changed 😢 by someone from the under ground
Full Measure, Faceoff, and Felina... A Cold Day in Hell's Kitchen, Whenever You're Ready, Nice While it Lasted, Weirdmageddon 1-3, A REGULAR EPIC FINAL BATTLE, Change Your Mind? (Also an episode)
I’ve never played League of Legends, so I wasn’t sure if Jinx got vaporized when she fired her weapon, here, but then I remembered that she is in the game, so she must have survived. I hope the second season picks up where this one left off.
To be entirely fair, (I use to play league) there are characters who've died. Just because someone is in the show doesn't mean they didn't die. "We summon the greatest champions of all time." Kinda like a space time continuum; they get pulled out right before they died, because of their skills. They still have stories and endings I'm sure.
@@swordofbored7018 thats what the pass when the game itself was called the league of legends but you were a summoner and you summon them, right now the game its not a ''league'' its a full lore, and the rift is like a event zone when the ''champions'' solve their problems. death characters are not in game, the only exception was yone, but is a resurrected one
I honestly don't want Season 2 to pick from this story. The world of league of legends is HUGE. Multiple stories with new, fresh setups. This story reached a point where it defined its characters: Vi and cupcake fighting bad people, Jayce will survive & help bring peace and jynx as a maniac who creates chaos. Even I haven't played LoL but knows about its lore, so next stop should be demacia with lux and sylas.
Watching Jinx fire that weapon and knowing how powerful hex tech is just gives me shivers every single time, the music, the lighting+intensity of that scene, not knowing what happened to both Jinx and who she shot at, it was a final act I will never get over
Ive always loved this scene bc of the realization from both sisters! Vi realizes when Jinx looks at her that Powder is official gone and all she has left is the memories. Jinx realizes that Vi will never love Jinx and will always love Powder more. Jinx is right when she says "you have changed too" Vi keeps saying they are still sisters but thats only if Jinx abandons her persona and brings Powder back. Jinx doesnt want to abondon her persona bc she feels more happy, powerful, and confident. Something she never felt when she was Powder.....
This is obviously a cliffhanger, but I think it's only on a narrative sense. On a thematic sense, the show posed a question from the beginning: is it possible for both sides to live in peace? The answer only arrives the moment Jynx pulls the trigger, and we get a few excruciating moments of agony seeing just how close they were. It's dark and pessimistic, and although I assume that there's more story to this and the answer to the question might change, I like the sense of finality that this seasons provides.
i just realized, theres definitely going to be some drama between cait and vi after this. jinx kills her mother but shes also vi's sister. curious to see how the writers move forward with these characters
nope, Vi clearly doesnt love her sister anymore...she already left her for Caitlyn eventhough she saw that Jinx almost died... she didnt have any emotion about this...Vi clearly choses Caitlyn and goes after her sister... even Arcane opening credits show this ...conflict will be between Jinx and Vi, we probably see Vi trying to kill Jinx
@@HK-gm8pewhen exactly did she leave jinx for Caitlyn? Regardless, Vi clearly DOES still care about her sister, it’s written all over her face that she regrets leaving her sister and feels guilt over all the actions jinx has committed due to her running. Ya don’t do that for people that ya don’t care about, basic psychology
This scene will never fail to make me cry. When Jinx walked past Vi with her gun, Vi truly came to the realization that Powder was gone. Caitlyn knowing that her mother was going to be killed and she could do nothing to stop it. Jinx having just killed the only person that unconditionally loved her (as a parent), she did exactly what Silco had promised they would, only that she had to do it alone. I always sympathized with Jinx, as I have BPD/DID so I struggle with voices/personalities etc. They did a brilliant job in portraying her mental illness.
and its all her fault, she abandoned her sister, a child who only wanted to help. This is why I cant stand Vi she is the most selfish character in league.
She didn't abandoned her, she walked a little so she could take a time to calm down. She was just about to return, and she was stripped from that chance.
@@antoniovideos9629 She punched her in the face and told her she is a Jinx, then walked away from her baby sister. Even if she did want to return out of sympathy for her sister, she abandoned her for that crucial moment that changed everything between them.
@@46cm_ she was a child t9, why you forgot that Vi was a child too? Powder killed by accident their brothers and Vander and all fucked up ¿And you didnt expect that Vi would react like that? When Vi punched Powder she was horrified for doing that but she was still angry so she walked away just to relax ¿Didnt she deserve that? Of course not is what you say, buuut then Silco came, amd Vi, who didnt want to leave here was taken by force by Markus Vi never, never wanted and would never abandonate Powder, but she was drugged by Markus, and she reacted like a child/teenager would reacted on that situation, oh but nooooo, its all her fault... And thats funny, beacuse she was the older Sister she was the responsible always and she knows that, so she probably hates herself more than everyone, beacuse for being the older, the responsible and using Vander words, she thinks that she abandonated Powder But of course, Jinx is the only one suffering 7_7
@@sebastianaristizabal3871 I never said Vi isn't suffering nor that she isn't a child. I simply said that, in that moment, and probably in Powders mind due to what occurred just right before Vi left her, she abandoned her little sister. That's all, as the person I answered to stated she did not abandon her.
I really hope the shot of Mel’s glowing armour means she gets protected. Jayce and Viktor are there too and there’s no way they die, so I’m hoping her armour is Solari and somehow protects her, Jayce and Viktor. She’s a beautifully crafted original character who’s only at the beginning of her arc, it’d be devastating for her to die. At the same time, her mothers anger would be an amazing reason to tie noxus into the second season, with an invasion brewing due to her daughters death.
I think theyll take a path inbetween, maybe she gets seriously wounded. That way she still has some serious depth to play with character wise and it gives other characters the conflict needed with the underground. It has the same impact as her being dead, but without actually losing the character.
Well if she lives, it could also push her more towards her mother's ideology. They were finally about to give the undercity peace, just for some of their most prestigious leaders to be attacked by a major criminal from the undercity. Another sign that showing mercy just leads to be taken advantage of. Would also be a decent reason to either push Jayce back down that road as well, since the only thing that stopped him the first time was accidently killing a child. What I really hope is that Caitlyn's mother dies, I'd like to see Caitlyn have a stronger motive to take down Jinx, and see how this event affects her and Vi's relationship, while also giving her more of an internal struggle for the second season. It felt like her story in the show was overshadowed by almost everyone else, even though it seemed like they were trying to make her one of the main characters.
Love mel but tbh I really thought if she died she'd become the lady of clockwork orianna buildout of hextech tbh. Tho hopefully she gets a good arc later in the setoes
@@BKXIX there isn't really any mercy going on in the series the peace deal was driven mainly by self interest for Piltover as they starting to feel consequences, they were just pretending look how moral we are. Thats a reason why the sibling's hate their older sibling in the series as they disguising selfish desires as being entirely selfless with the younger one picking up the bill again. Think its confirmed Cass die's as Caitlyn has for S1 had the luxury of being on the sidelines making it easy for her to say how everyone should just be hero moral and forget grudges ect.
When Sting hits the high arching chord in synchronization with the arc of the rocket leaving the building at around 1:25 is just absolutely incredible scoring.
2:38 this is when she realizes the rocket is going to hit the building. Its hard to tell because our eye is directed towards the center of the screen but if you only look at her, you see her smile drop.
If you ever needed an example of how to end a season of television so that it both feels like a complete story and yet leaves you wanting more, this is it. One of the most heartbreaking scenes of TV I've ever seen, and a stellar finale.
for a video game company making its first series adaptation, this one was by far the most tragic, emotional piece of fiction I've seen in years. the fact they decided to leave the series at such a dark cliffhanger was diabolical
I know they (probably) did it on purpose, but I still find it ironic and heartbreaking that the last spoken word of this season is "peace" when the it ends with everything but that.
i’ve never played the game nor do i think i ever will, but the story that they created is so captivating that i can’t help but want more. i’m so tempted to get into the game lore but i kinda don’t wanna know too much to maintain the element of surprise for the next season but my god, being patient is challenging
honestly knowing the game lore while watching arcane made the experience better for me knowing some references and some characters only downside is that you’d know some characters are guaranteed to survive ( the ones from league ) but a lot of the arcane characters arent actually in league lore and even the characters that are in league have varying differences between their league and arcane counterparts its sorta like an AU
I don't remember the last time I saw a season finale leave on such a cliffhanger like this. This 2 minutes was literally the built up culmination of the entire season. I swear they spent the entire season making everything for just these 2 minutes and change. This ending had me so bad I kind of teared up.
I liked this show way more than I though, I’ve played league but only for a bit. I really hope they keep introducing more characters from the game. Also at 1:57 that’s definitely vander as Warwick
@@theenigma1784 if you rewatch and look for details around Vander, his story and some of the music and sounds they used for his bits definitely point towards that even more with that ending shot
This was such a MASTERPIECE! I went through so many emotions watching this series. It was so monumentally well done and this end sequence, with STING playing hauntingly in the background was just perfection. I cannot wait for season 2.
What hurts the most is that even though she had to choose between Silco and Vi, She still choose VI, She choose to protect her sister from Silco by shooting him, even though Silco was her "Father" throughout all this time when Vi was in jail but that was probably the last time she'll choose Vi
I imagine this scene like this. Now Powder finally dies and Jinx takes her place. In my opinion, she is now more dangerous than ever. since now she has nothing to lose.
This series has the most sybolism and double meanings i have ever seen in a show. Jinx was saddened that Vi couldnt love her even though she was different, but it was Vi who told her that her indifference made her stronger. Really shows you how far Jinx's mind had gone.
It’s so crazy how jinx uses this gemstone to try and save her family in ep 3 but accidentally kills them but in this scene she makes that choice to blow up the council with that same gemstone. The first time she used it, it was a mistake whereas in this scene she makes that choice
Unless the council is equipped with tools that can protect them from a giant hextech infused rocket , Mel's chance of surviving is extremely low considering she's about to get hit by it directly but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
@@alybadry203 It seems like her golden back thingy will definitely play a part in her survival, if not the rest of the councils'. She's also played a big part in the story so far so I feel like she'll be one of the survivors.
@@WhatDoYouWant92 Dont ever mention Zhonya's to me ever again. I get an aneurysm everytime a mage uses it. But yeah her back ornaments are glowing and she's sensing the rocket on its way so she migjt be able to survive but we have to see when s2 drops soon.
Good god this scene is so damn perfect! I really hope that RIOT actually takes the future seasons of the show seriously and doesn't let the quality drop off of a cliff. They really created something truly remarkable here with one of the greatest seasons of Television ever made!
This never would've happened if Ekko hadn't stopped Vi from pulling her sister back from the brink, taken the only thing trying to put Powder back together, then pitted Sister against Sister so he could be a 'hero' and 'save' everyone.
Whenever I start to think that shows no longer get me by the feels like some movies used to, I come back to remember how Arcanes' finale is just perfectly wrapped and gives me hopes again
I hope in season 2, it doesn't start off right after this moment, but instead another time skip, months even after the ending. And as the show continues they pepper who survives and who doesnt. That would be an interesting way of showing the results of what happened
Love the fact near the end you get the chance to see Warwick from the underciity where that professor was growing that mutation that needing to survive. I can’t wait and legit just watched the whole damn first season
What exactly would she say she finally came to the realization that powder is long gone and even if she did jinx would have never listened and would have continued her mission anyway but without silco as he promised her
Jinx is really tragic, because the thing she became is in a sens, only due to bad luck. As powder, she was sweet, and only wanted to feel accepted, and to help. She meant no arm. Unfortunately, as her name implies, she kind of jinxs everything. How could you turn out fine when you destroy everything you touch ? This scene is very reminescent of when she killed her friends. Everything was fine, everything was going to be fine. They would have escaped unharmed. But no... she jinxed it. And here she is again, unknowingly ruining what Cisco had been working on for his whole life... Zaun independance.
Even if they tried reaching some sort of peace it was too late the same people trying to fix things caused jinx to go insane in the first place she is who they Made her
All the people Jinx killed was inocent, those related to the masacre in the bridge are dead or retired, Jinx killed the ones who were trying to make a change and grant them the freedom in a last "Jinxed action" Silco would never have wanted a full war as Jinx caused.
@@xCoatlicuex Those people "trying to make a change" waited literally years before actually doing something. Even then, when presented with the option they were outraged at the thought of giving them independence. Power and money was their driving force. Only when that was being threatened did they agree. This moment is the literal definition of too little, too late.
@@xCoatlicuex ahhh typical upper classes always act all high and mighty keep praying on the weak but once the predators becomes the pray they always love playing victims the oldest tail that always stands the test of time
@@xCoatlicuexthey waited years to make change while people like Jinx were suffering in Zaun, if they made change sooner Powder wouldn’t have become Jinx, Silco wouldn’t become a crime lord, Vi and Powder’s parents would still be alive, clearly if the council did something to help Zaun everyone would be fine right now but they didn’t, they were too prideful, heartless, and arrogant to do something and let them suffer, now everything that’s happening now or that’s gonna happen is because of them, Jinx may have fired the first shot of war but they’re the ones that allowed the upcoming war to start
@@xCoatlicuexWhat people? What someone from an institution does is that institution's fault, not an individual fault. And they did not try to make a change, they had to give in because the consequences were getting out of hand.
"Fighting the flesh means, primarily, fighting against those attitudes of the heart that are opposed to the Lord. As we focus on the inward man, our external obedience will improve, but external obedience is of little value if we do not love God with our whole hearts."
It took me a while to notice how this scene is parallel to the end scene of episode 3. In both cases, all was going well and looking good until Powder / Jinx stepped in and messed it up.
things were never well Vi just thought things were well as she never looked at the bigger picture. the ending was VI being forced to face consequences for her poorly thought bad idea's.
Jinx has earned the right to rage against the world, because the world crushed every last bit of her innocence and humanity. When you give people nothing to live for, they might make damn sure that you know what that feels like.
This show was my favourite of all the series i watched down the last years . I also watch a lot of videos of the developement of characters etc... But i just notice now and it can be only me seing things but : At the moment Jinx take the hextech gem on top of the cupcake, it echoes 2 things to me : 1 : Caitlyn represent the heart of Piltover in a way (being empathetic / soft / loyal /just) and being daughter of a mother leader of Pilotver VI call caitlyn cupacke and Jinx taking the gem on top of the Cupcake (representing the top of the heart of Piltover = The head ) and fire on ( The Leader decision room ) with it ! 2: When Jinx take that gems we can extrapoliate that she had a decision to make : Taking the gem for violence and vengeance or taking Cupcake to hope gain back her sister. It feels like she made the choice to let Cupcake to VI and accept to lose her sister to her at this moment and taking the heritage of Silko to acomplish his dream . Sorry for all grammar mistake i did. Enjoy the show so much and good day !
Two different philosophies of peace coming to a head one where they have to fight and wrangle a system that has long since perpetuated the disparity and must now be negotiated with and wrestled with in order to make it finally cooperate into the vision they wanted the other, to just get rid of the old system and let the people remake the system from its ashes.
Y'know, Jinx has some great aim to hit a target thst far away dead on, right through the window. There isnt a sight optic on her rocket and she hasnt fired it before. Good aim.
ah god this was such a good way to cap off season 1, i remember starring at the TV and just asking. “Where did you aim that?!” ….aaand only silence was left once i put two and two together
Its really sad because when you think about how heimendinger is no longer on the counsel...and why they made that narrative decision...yeah now we know why. Absolute masterpiece of a show made by people who actually love the lore and world. RoP and the witcher have nothing on that
Its not. They already explained how the first episode's scenes happened. Silco and Vander's attack on Piltover caused that. League doesnt have time travel as a thing. Closest would be ekko, but thats still not really time travel
Have you ever consumed any sort of media in your life? Firstly Arcane is a linear story with the only flashbacks being at the start of episodes. Secondly the last shot of the first flashback ie the end of the war is literally Vi staring at that window. Completely unexploded. What a dumb fucking thing to say.
i was literally in TEARS and screaming, i cant believe that they had just given the undercity a CHANCE and then bam. AND THE CLIFF HANGER.. i wonder what's coming for season 2.
What make this sucks is that the cliffhanger is too great to ignore. But I agree that Riot should take their time on making season 2 because they just made a masterpiece.
