ARCCOS: 2023 Update & Review // Good, Bad, & Ugly 

Thanks! When I built my sim I was debating between Mevo+ and Skytrak but went with Mevo+ because I had the space and liked its features a bit more. I definitely want to check out GC3 and some of those other upper tier launch monitors, but going to either A) Need better half approval or B) Get more YT clout so these guys actually let me demo them..... You should look into getting the shot scope h4. Smaller sensors, no subscription fees and you don’t need to use your phone at all during a round. It also has the same shot tracking and stat keeping as Arccos. Highly recommend!

Tried Arccos twice too much info, I’m 73, I walk play 4 time a week just can’t keep upor correct. so I use apple ultra and swing U. Real easy as I have heard Hit hard and look up enjoy the game, from a high handicap Aloha

The application of cheap paint or paint designed for different materials may result in cracking or detachment. Prior to painting, diligently tape off areas that are not intended to be painted. Utilize fine grit sandpaper (400+), employing a gentle roughening technique on the surface to be painted. The objective is not to sand it down significantly, but rather to provide the paint with enhanced adhesion. Subsequently, thoroughly wipe the surface with alcohol, leaving it with a dry, slightly weathered appearance. Adhere to the instructions provided by the paint manufacturer, including the recommended time intervals between each coat. It is imperative to apply each layer thinly, even after the first coat, allowing some green color to remain visible beneath the paint. While wear and tear may occur over time, proper application will prevent sudden issues.

It's one thing to inform customers of new products, etc. but to continually have to decline over and over is super annoying. Cheers!

I stopped using the putter sensor all together after a couple rounds. I hated the way it looked on my putter. So I just mark the pin locations and edit my putts after the round. Cheers!

Yeah, not sure. It may be because I started my Arccos journey with one of the free trial promotions when I bought a Ping club? It is just a bit annoying is all. On the tee box, just want to start the round, and then BOOM, "Hey give us more money maybe?" Ugh... anyways... Cheers!

It definitely seems a bit more reliable, but I still need to edit my rounds each outing just to be sure it all looks correct. Usually takes about 10-15 minutes, cheers!

I bet the apple watch is a better monitor than the phone. I’m sure the accelerometers right next to each other swinging together talk and decide when a hit really was vs throwing a club in the air

@@svk_5104 I already have a Garmin watch so I’m not keen to have 2 devices for golf. The subscription model is turning me off Arccos and shotscope appears better than CT10.

Mainly just the price and my stupid need to switch out random clubs in my bag at times because it’s totally their fault……… haha. Cheers!

I haven't seen Hello Birdie before, but it seems pretty similar to Arccos with some French flair. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't actually related in some capacity. I can't really speak on how it works, etc. But I think for all intents and purposes Arccos has "proved" itself in this space. You can typically get sensors for free and a basic free trail period. From just a dumb layman… Arccos should have it’s own ability to assign GHIN numbers as “golf club” even as a regional basis with the amount of members it has. I mean good on them for integrating it though, just add it to the bill. Cheers!

Nope, because it only logs distance based off GPS points on your phone when you go from shot to shot on the course.

I think the “smart distances / smart range” under club data is supposed to represent your likely carry. It seems to match pretty close to what I see on the simulator. It’s a decent app and I flip flop pretty often on keeping it or not. Cheers!

@@GolfOnTap yeah I bouvght the link thru some people I know and a related promo of 50% so gonna give this a try. Don't mind tweaking a bit to make the data legit but not having carry distance just seems completely absurd to leave out as this is the foundation of true stats. I appreciate your input on a workaround to at least approximate this. Wasn't there a rumour they we planning this or is this "smart" distances you're mentioning their solution?

Not really sure to be honest. But I do not see any feasible way that it could actually assess your carry distances itself, since it is basically just running off GPS data. The only thing they could possibly implement is for the ability for the player to input their carry distances manually under the club data, but this is not a feature at the moment. Cheers!
