This was well done. I find myself comparing notes and updating my Arccos with Garmin S62 watch analysis. Lots of data but little constructive information on what to do with the data to improve your game. Stating that I need to work on my approach shots within 150 yds falls within the "no duh" category. Need more than that. Honestly, I'm finding the Garmin S62 watch and Garmin golf app and website to be more than enough. Plus there's no annual subscription expectation.

So funny, my home course is Ashton Hills. I pass Cherokee Run everyday M-Th for work. I said to myself, "that course looks like Cherokee Run" - Spot on! Great Videos! Cheers!🍻

I'd watch that all Arccos caddie recommendations video for sure, just got my free sensors and the link for 50% off. Also have a super stroke grip on my putter and there's a specific adapter to fit those so should be pretty clean

I just got it and used it for the first time last week. yeah, it was a little expensive but I manage to blow a lot more doing other things. I understand the complaints but in honesty, none of the bad/ugly is much of issue, at least for me. I just want the data and for that, it's going to shine.

Great review. You answered all the questions that I had on Arccos. It was driving me crazy that I could not get actual info on what the thing really does & does not do! From your video, I learned it is not for me. What I really want is a shot analyzer. I want to see where my hands are through my swing. Arccos is just a shot detector paired with a GPS phone app that provides all the mapping functions. The sensors really do nothing critical. You could do the same thing by just walking to your ball and tapping your phone to tell the app where the ball went.

Got arccos after buying new ping i525 irons and it has worked great. I got the sensors and the caddie link which works great. I have had no issues with it picking up shots and I got the perfect reading. I check it when I get back into the cart but I am someone that enjoys tracking my info. I do it real time. I agree with you I didn’t get the green sensor I got the smoke sensor.

There isn’t a perfect gps tracking system, but Arccos works for me. I got the Smart Grips and P3 putter sensor which eliminates the Bad and Ugly. I tried the Caddie Link but it drained my iPhone 12 Pro battery faster than without it. My Apple Watch 7 series battery does a nice job with shot detection and lasts throughout 18 holes. The Bad is the annual subscription model unless Arccos improves data collection and add-on features. I will re-evaluate when my sensors die or grips need to be replaced.

Right on. UX on the app blows. I already lost the sensor I TRIED to put on the putter.. because it doesn't fit.. It blows. I had the Link and it blows too. Started recording a bunch of shots I never took... and because the UX on the app blows, you can't neatly remove and add shots.

The sensors use light (so when you take them out of your bag) combined with the sound of a hit (via your phone) to determine what club and when you strike the ball (just fyi)

I'm only one round in so far, but it worked perfectly for me. I got the sensors free through a coupon code, so didn't mind paying for the caddielink. I disagree with most of your "the ugly" section. We're all using devices all the time, so having my phone in my pocket isn't an issue. Most of the people I play with are using Golfshot, SwingU, Grint, or something else already on their phone or watch, so it's not really much different from that. Is it a great way to track your shots and better learn your distances, absolutely!

I played my first round yesterday with Arccos. It worked pretty well but the first drive said 181 and it was 240. One drive was 295 and it said 395 (I wish) and my Cobra putter missed 17 putts for some reason. I have the link on my belt and it might have been covered by my shirt sneaking out, I'm not sure. I'll put it on my left pocket and see what happens tomorrow.

The putter sensors barely work, and if you happen to swap putters and don’t have one paired, you can’t use the system at all! And the Superstroke grip’s require a special $30 sensor. Pretty significant scam really

Too much of a pain in the ass for me. Thanks for the honest review. I think I'll pass until technology catches up some more to make this much easier. Any app that takes away from golf is a no go for me. I play to enjoy the game...and not worry about if an app tracked my shot correctly.

Great review. I had Arccos with my then new Cobra F9s. I didn't like the idea of the phone since my pants don't have pockets that fit a phone. And at the time the belt thing was always out of stock. Also I didn't like the Arccos grips. I like Golf Pride CP2 Pros. I have Shot Scope V3: same data gathering, same analysis, and it comes with a watch. I paid $219 for it. No subscription. Is it perfect? No. But it gets the job done. And the sensors aren't ugly. In any case, I think the club distances in both Arccos and Shot Scope are a joke. Carry distance is what's important. If you need to carry 140 yds. you won't go by the club distances in your program. You'll go by the carry distance you got from (GC Quad, Trackman, or Top Tracer).

I recently bought the Arccos caddie with the link. The very first time I tried to put the link on my waistband, the plastic clip broke. So, unless I wanted to carry my phone in my pocket, I was unable to use it. I wrote to Arches support about the link and have yet to receive a response. I'll give them a week and then will return it for a refund.

Seems like it will take 4ever to play around of golf messing around it. Then worrying about my battery life of my iPhone. I have an Apple Watch but now what do I do with my Garmen!?! Throw it away? I’m getting anxiety just thinking about how to work this in my game and I haven’t even decided if I’m buying it yet!!!

Not sure your “bads” are bads…if you are truly looking to get better, the extra data is very useful. I give it to my golf coach so he can see what I’m doing on the course and we have a discussion point. As for hands free, I have very few issues with it. Yes, it sometimes misses a shot, etc, and you need to correct it in your post round review, but before Arccos, I was writing notes on my score card and going over each shot after the round…So, correcting a few errant/misreads afterwards is actually very helpful. Battery life with an iPhone used to be a big deal, but the newer iPhones have no battery issues (I use the iPhone Ultra). I can play 3 rounds before my battery dies…They sell the smoke sensors now that are blacked out if you prefer those…so that’s not an issue…For putting, I’ve been using Arccos for about 6 years now, so my putting routine always starts with me going to the flag (to remove it in the old days) and pacing off the putt. So, it’s real easy to mark the flag. So, if you want something that you just use each round to get distances, just get a laser range finder with GPS built in. Having sensors in your clubs to track data is so you can actually review it, learn from it, work on your weaknesses, and get better…which requires a lot of work in this game (or any game).

Originally enjoyed the Arccos, but it looks like they have stopped supporting my older perfectly good Android phone, so it no longer works. $300.00 (can), now junk. Can't justify up grading my phone, so I'll be looking for another product.

Excellent review, enough to make me a subscriber: With that acknowledged I have a correspondingly over long set of comments, My Arccos background. First set purchased in 2017, currently with 176 rounds recorded. The (my) big ugly - capture ratio around 90%, that's a couple of completely missed shots per 18 holes. Thru all methods of attempting to improve: phone, link and Apple Watch 7 I have been unable to have a round catching every shot and it's worse with putts. Regards data capture - I am 100% happy. My belief is the interpretation is for a coach to tell you HOW to improve, my instructor will base the "next" lesson based on the Arccos data I send him. Skipping to the overwhelming - take the first round as a familiarization round. Use RU-vid videos, that helped me a lot. Finally, realize ahead of time it will take a few rounds to gain the full value of the device. Battery life - I have never had a battery problem with either link, watch or phone. Only time I played 36 holes I still had battery left in all devices. Caveat, of sorts, I always made sure I had fully charged batteries prior to the round. Sensor failure: BEWARE, if only one sensor fails you are totally without Arccos of any sorts until you replace the failed sensor. Good news is Arccos replaced sensor in about ten days free of charge. I also had a Link Connect failure after about a year and a half - out of warranty - so I just bought a new one. Cost: Relative, sure it can cost as much as a new driver. Still less expensive than any launch monitor and provides a lot of helpful analysis, especially if you are taking lessons and you and your coach can work in real time fixing current issues. I have spent around $350 since 2017, pretty good if amortized. I bought before the subscription requirement, whew. Looks: I wish there was a method to attach a photo in comments. I used black heat shrink tubing (with adhesive), length of 3/4 inch, which hides the sensor completely and more importantly keeps the risky screw of the sensor getting loose and from falling out of the end of the club. I have a photo of both an iron and putter showing what I mean if you have a way for me to get it to you. Fairways and greens

Hear me out, is Arccos responsible for 5.87 deducted from your score or is it the fact you got a shiny new toy and play more? I would bet its because youre playing more and becoming more consistent vs it being the app and their technology.

I have experienced out of date satellite imagery once on a course that had recently been renovated. I use my phone in the left pocket and never feel it there (iPhone 13Pro). It caught 100% of shots on every round I’ve played with it (5 at this time). I’m not sure I understand what people mean when they say hey don’t know how to use the info it gives you. I mean, cmon if it says you’re losing most strokes on approaching shots then go get better at approaching shots. How? Well you’re already on RU-vid, maybe search for that or show your coach the feedback. It’s a caddie not a coach ;) Most folks go to the range and don’t know what to practice. They hit their driver and a couple irons but not a lot more. The value in arccos for me was learning that while I don’t drive great, it’s not making a big impact on my game compared with approaching. It was reifying to see that the short game drills I’d been doing had me gaining strokes over a scratch player and that my putting could improve a little. Otherwise very solid review.

It seems pointless if it doesn't provide swing metrics.
