I had pretty good success with a Cyber Dark World deck back a few years ago. I just experimented around a bit to find the right ratio between Cyber Dark and Dark World cards. If I remember correctly, the ratio was 40 Dark World cards to 0 Cyber Darks.
@@superhydra8873 on top of that you can turn power tool dragon into an overpowered anime boss monster by using some of the guardian equip cards and mage power to negate the drawbacks of the twin swords of flashing light and the shooting star bow while still letting powertool dragon hit your opponet directly twice with 2800 points per atk which gets even more nuts if you throw bayou''s flamberge into thiings which deals around 7000+ in battle damage per turn
@@waynejulian277 That is a lot of work with very little consistency to make a big beatstick that can save itself from destruction by getting rid of its OTK potential.
In GX Kiaser/Zane would use the level 4 cyberdarks in order to equip inferno dragon (which is a level *4* dragon), even though the level 4 cyber darks can only equip level 3 and lower dragons. truly Konami works in mysterious ways.
Picky Physics Student Yeah it really didn’t make sense for Konami to change the equip effect to level 3 and below or limit Cyber Dark Dragon to only your GY.
@@brandonbrown6922 I think the main card would be Rare Metal Dragon, a level 4 dragon with 2400 ATK that can’t be normal summoned. Equipping that would make them stronger than Blue-Eyes!

It always felt like Cyberdarks were *this* close to being actually pretty good as an alternative to Chimeratech, but until we get retrains of Edge, Horn, Keel and a new fusion card I really don't see much coming of this deck.
So basically a retrain of about half the cards? But I agree, change the level required from 3 to 4, add some more protection, draw effect or search effect and the deck will actually be kind of playable in the meta. Some more fusion monster that can be summoned by contact fusion, so no fusion card needed and put some variation to the effects, some negation, attack boosting or search effect to get the cards needed and make it easier to go for a boss monster.
@@omegacxv8344 What if they just had a field spell that makes their equipped monsters equipped by their effects unable to be destroyed or banished and had a Fusion Gate like effect. It'd just let them play, but I worry it'd be like Neo Space where you basically NEED the card in order to play them. Perhaps a spell that searches as well? Or perhaps a trap to give them some universal floating. Or even just retrains that let you equip level 4 or lower Dark Dragon or Dark Machine monsters.
@@breezierchip8355 yeah, at least some kind of play extender, protection or not limiting the cards to level 3 dragons would be a nice start. I think the archetype has potential, but needs some work done on it. I like the Theme of dragons getting some big dick juice from machines, but they need a little more of everything, to be at least somewhat meta relevant
I made some custom cards for the Deck in DB that actually made the Deck pretty decent without stepping into OP territory. Basic stuff like giving them a monster that can summon itself from hand by sending an equipped monster to the GY and requip a dragon from GY or a much more simple one is just giving them a decent fusion spell.

Had to come back here during the Zane unlock event in Duel Links where they not only thought it was a brilliant idea to NOT give his character deck access to any cyber dragons or cyber dragon support (except Cyber End Dragon, which is now janky to summon) and instead focus on unlocking and supporting Cryberdarks, but then only provide the 2011 cards for deck building... because we can't have nice things.
Honestly, I've nearly got enough cards to make a fully-functional playset and... I can see why Rata doesn't like them. They feel so goddamn clunky to play, what with having to slowly and awkwardly set up the graveyard for the fusions, which you mostly want to do with Extra Deck boss monsters like Five-Headed Dragon and Blue-Eyes Ultimate but can only do with Claw during battle. I'm not as keen as I thought I would be on it.
the best way to make cyberdark monsters better is to give them their own version of harpie channeler a monster that is able to search out any of the archetypes combo pieces or give them support that makes it useful to get them into the graveyard like thunder dragons
And its looking good so far as cybernetic horizon is broken asf and chimera might be bused if they give us another good fusion monster and it can search power bond.

I know that LV monsters technically aren't an archetype, but I would really like to see you do a video about them, firstly because they have similar support cards like level up, and secondly, no one ever talks about them!
at least cyberdarks got better overtime and finally playable. They still have huge issues, but at least it's no longer the "worst" archetype ever made. Now I want to see his take on Jurracs, since their beatdown focused style was so slow and inconsistent and got better with the new dino structure deck introduced with Miscellanousaurus. Plus, they suffered the Ally of Justice/Genex Curse when they came out. Anybody else wants to see him cover Jurracs?
I had a playable cyberdark deck before the new support. It wasn't too bad either but with the new support i'm thinking about pulling that deck out to play it again. You know before the new format makes it unplayable.
And now I made a Dogmatika/Cyberdarks deck because the video inspired me. Aside from Trains, it's one of my favorite decks. Thanks again, Rata ; ^) Update 6/28: Now its Cydra Cyberdarks because the new support is AMAZING!
Archtype Archive on Ojamas? They can run Ultimaya (Which admittedly doesn't mean that much anymore). Throw in a Brilliant Fusion, Accel Synchron, a Junk Synchron or two... Then brick.

Cyberdarks were my first archetype so it's nice to see them get some love even if they are the old handycaped war veteran that sits in the corner grumbaling about how everything nowadays is lazy and gay we may even get some revisiting for older archetypes *cough* *cough* N E O S P A C I A N S *cough* *cough*

Something about some fancy pendulum monsters makes them actually playable besides rainbow neos turbo (which that doesn't even really crystal beast). Sadly I doubt we'll get them unless they decide to reprint Rainbow dragon again. Always hope for legendary decks 4.
why would you ever bother to use the pendulum monsters when the link format comes? with how pendulum works they would just be used to either search power... that they don't really lack or a worst version of honest... which they don't really care for. The main use of the pendulum monsters was due to the protection they provide while in the pendulum zone but now that the pendulum zone is clogging the spell/trap zone that really hurts the entire deck since, crystal abundance would be dead, the field spell would lose up to two of it's most useful effects and limit how you even use said backrow in any effective way
Do you know what will happen to the pendulum zone in the link format? it'll be moved to the spell/trap zone, meaning that it will take up to two spell/trap zones. Yes they'll grant protection to your crystal beasts and rainbow dragon but at the cost of severely limiting your plays and essentially killing your best plays you have possible in the deck itself. You cannot use crystal abundance, the field spell will lose it's extra draw and the ability to SS a CB from the spell/trap zone and that's not even mentioning your ability to just set generic traps like solemns with how easy CBs clog their backrow for future plays. Protection is meaningless when it hurts you more than it actually helps you.

Go through all the effort required to summon Cyberdark Dragon and then equip my powerful dragon to it that I also got into my Graveyard first... or just equip Axe of Despair to the dragon. That's a tough one.
And to think, all these years later, Cyberdarks get a Power Bond searcher that lets you fuse with monsters in GY at the expense of knowing that your new boss monster is a literal fusion of Cyberdark Dragon and Cyber End Dragon. I can’t wait for Rata to comment on how much of a sin against mankind it is.
