@loliquatsch I still think that the paleo needs more love. Like at least a continuous trap or a rank-up trap( and a rank 3 monster to go with ). Heck, I even have the names to be used. For the continuous trap it should be named 'Paleozoic Seas' and the rank up : Rank-up Trap - The Explosion of Life of the Paleozoic Eon.
D3S frog was legitimately the first card i ever owned. Got it from a diner that had a cheap gumball machine type thing that spit out yugioh cards for 25 cents.
I looked it up expecting it to be cheap and make a joke about how many you could buy with that 25 cents now but its actually about a dollar now. Expensive card even though its outdated as hell.
Fun fact: T.A.D.P.O.L.E was an attempt by the TCG team to copy its Japanese naming convention. While its Japanese name is otamajakushi which means Tadpole in Japanese, the OCG separated them as "o/tama/ja/ku/shi" which respectively means "evil/soul/vice/pain/stop". It's a very hard pun to bring over to the States but the closest being Rata's gag about it. Hell, all the Frog names in the OCG are Japanese puns.

@@goldskarr nah it's not broken it's just a normal monster. It's just that it's not actually supposed to be part of the frog archetype. It's name was eventually changed to Slime Toad.

"kaeru" is Japanese for "frog", although in compound words its pronunciation often changes to "gaeru". Card names are important when interpreting card effects in Yu-Gi-Oh, so an effect that words on a "kaeru" monster won't work on a "gaeru" monster. @@bruno0518 The whole "Archetype/Series" debacle is so arbitrary it's like how Rhydon is technically "Ground/Rock" whereas Geodude is "Rock/Ground". It doesn't matter because fans will consider anything an archetype as long as it keeps a consistent theme. One piece of crossover support does not make the Armed Dragon cards suddenly Ojamas, but they do work together in a fun quirky way.

Half of its cards see no play while the other half is FTK fuel or just really fucking annoying. Or you, both. The archetype is 100% fucking memes, so what do you expect?

FurredDragon his name was toad jam in the ocg and therefore is not part of the archetype. I think he was the first card to cause an archetype to have to say except “insert name here.”

Ojama Country is so messed up that their “ruler” lives in a small bean.... mushroom... whatever house that’s about as big as the other houses. Just went back to this video to update on the September 2022 banlist and guess which frog monster is banned and which one returns. Blame Spright for the change.
fast forward to late 2022- Substitoad is limited with no errata whatsoever, at the cost of Ronintoadin being banned because of some zappy hellspawns. Truly we live in the darkest of timelines.
If there was more Frog cards, then i would want them to primarily support the Wetlands Beatdown playstyle. Or something that would make them more capable when used on their own.
Frog the Jam does serve the purpose of being the singular Normal Monster in your Frog Deck. This allows it to bypass any Effect Monster counters or helping against Exodia decks that use Afterlife Emissary. It also serves as a handy Toadly Awesome Discard.
UPDATE: Frog Decks, and Paleozoic-Frogs have been executed as a colleteral by the Banlist, because the Meta loves to abuse Cards from weaker Decks, get them banned and still be Tier 1 or 0 afterwards. Well, I'll go and bury another Deck in the "Killed by Meta"-Graveyard....
let me join you, ill bring the shovel. im pissed about this because I grew to love playing frogs, particularly because of Paleo-frogs. Ronin OR swap gone results in the end of frogs, and thats just what happened here. would have been nice if the last few cards with paleo or frogs on them where remotely as good as even older cards...
One of my absolute favorite decks Ive ever made was basically "water fun stuff". Frog engine, paleozoics, graydles, various ice barrier and white aura synchros, later on some marincess and other water spam cards. Deck was a blast and scared me how adaptive it was for a long time. Doesnt really do much against the metas these days, but still fun and can at least pull a few wins here and there.

well ronintoadin was the real problem. but now frogs just make for a good exodia turbo deck as long as you can protect substitoad from negation. and even if you cant, swap frog and tradetoad give you recursion. imo its an exodia engine if ever i saw one.
