This year's very late This-is-not-a-joke review takes us to the final issue of the Sonic X comic series. Characters from the main Archie Sonic book briefly appear before heading off to this book's replacement. #Sonic #comic #megabeatman
Shadow: Sonic a robot duplicate of you from another dimension has traveled here to kill you! Sonic: Hey you want me to give you a tour! Shadow: But--- Sonic: This is Chris Chris: *cries* Eggman: Hello! Shadow: Oh thank goodness a way out! Shadow:*teleports away with metal*
It’s kind of cool to see what metal sonic would’ve looked like in Sonic X. Even if it isn’t the true Metal sonic, but just a lonesome copy, it’s still interesting to see Metal in that art style.
This Shadow/Metal Sonic plot thread blew my mind when I was younger and reading these comics. I've followed the Archie Sonicverse ever since until it folded. Glad we now have Archie Sonic Online as a fan continuation!
Hey megabeatman, hear this. From issue 33 of the idw sonic comics evan stanley takes writing duty and there is a new 4 part miniseries called "bad guys" featuring dr starline ploting his revenge against eggman with some familiar faces AKA the skunk brothers rough and tumble, zavok and mimic. Boy, this will be one heck of a ride.
It would've been interesting if Metal Sonic was properly introduced into the Sonic X universe... BTW, when will you do re-reviews for your older videos? I'm only a recently new watcher. And I've noticed a lot of your videos new a touch-up. Also, may I recommend a "re-review" playlist?
yeah i agree, though there was the Sonic Gx fanseries, but the creator cancelled that series because of his hatred towards the sonic series and now treats this franchise as nothing more but a fucking joke so...yeah
@@BlackFlash09 yeah, plus sonic gx is...pretty dated for the most part, this is an early 2010s sonic sprite animation after all, so not everything is going to be perfect about it
Great job putting together this video, Sonic X sure is a fascinating take on Sonic and his friends and does feature lots of interesting characters, Chris Thorndyke being one of them. Too bad SEGA declared material from Sonic X off-limits in future Sonic media, it would be cool if we saw El Gran Gordo again or saw more Sonic X-related content. Can’t wait to see you tackle the other issues of this series and the other Archie Sonic related content soon. Have a great rest of the week, MBM. Stay safe and don’t get ill... -JMM
@@RoyalKnightVIII Don't properly just Sega being Sega. But Yes with the purchase of TMS did Sega gain the rights to all of Sonic X. It not to long ago for the first time in almost 15 years run on Japanese television and was made acceptable on Netflix.
I can see why SEGA of Japan and TMS Entertainment would declare any references to Sonic X was off limits to the Archie Sonic comics when that comic series was still ongoing before its ultimate cancellation. Personally, I hated how Archie Sonic, as usual, deviated from the canon story of Sonic X and wrote Sonic’s canon treatment and affections for Amy in the Sonic X universe out of canon character. It’s one of the reasons why I never bothered reading all of the 40 issues of Archie’s take on Sonic X. SEGA of Japan didn’t want Sonic X as part of the Archie Sonic or SatAM universe. SEGA of Japan and Sonic Team made Sonic X a canon alternate timeline from the video games in anime form and they never wanted Archie Sonic or SatAM as part of the canon main Sonic universe.
You do know that Sonic X isn't canon to the games at all right? AT best it exist as a TV Show in the games universe as of Sonic Adventures missions mode but that's it. X on multible occasions simply clashes hard with game continuity with There Sonic battle adaptation beging the more obvious example.
@@rynobehnke8289 I never said it was canon to the video games. I said it's a canon Alternate Timeline from the video games in anime form produced by Sonic Team and SEGA of Japan, with the cooperation of TMS Entertainment. While different from the video games however, Sonic X made references to several video games, those games being Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Battles, Sonic Advance 1 and 2, and a portion from Sonic Heroes. Many things were changed in the anime from how they actually happened in the video games. Also, Sonic X is heavily Sonamy and Sonic's treatment and behavior towards Amy in Sonic X is how many fans wish he would be towards Amy in the games.
@@mangaprime478 I mean when your point is that SoJ doesn't want SatAm things near there canon does make a Sonic X ban no sense given that X its is own canon. And Sure it adapted a few of the games but so did Archie in fact no matter how much it pains me to say it was Archies SA1 adaption still closer to the game than Sonic X Sonic battle adaption. And other than Cream and Team Chaodix existing what references were there to the Advances games and Heroes? If this is enough so did Archie have essentially the whole game cast at the time as well with more given that there actually had also Omega and Metal Sonic who never appeared in X. Any Amy's personality is a 180 from her Video game self with her wanting sonic to stay home and save and her trying to be a good cock and Housewife enjoying regular everyday live. Meanwhile was SA1 Amy bored out of her mind by the boredom of everyday live, loved sonic for his free adventures spirit and her greatest Dream as revealed by the Goddess of Good Dreams Lumia Flowlight in Sonic Shuffle is to be an adventures hero like Sonic. Seriously X Amy doesn't even have a reason to love Sonic because essentially everything her Video game counter part loves about Sonic is what X Amy annoys her with Sonic without ever giving a reason for her love in X
@@rynobehnke8289 Again, Sonic X is a canon alternate timeline Separate from the modern Sonic video game universe. Yes, Sonic Team made considerable changes to X Sonic and X Amy in the original Japanese anime version. And unlike the video games, Sonic, though it was muted as Sonic Team's way of saying that what Sonic said to Amy was private and only between the two of them, told Amy he loves her and always did when he presented to her the white rose with a symbol of new love and loyalty, and often the white roses are used in marriages. In the French version, it was audible what Sonic told Amy and in the terrible English 4Kids version they completely rewrote the scene and killed the moment of Sonic's confession to Amy entirely. Sonic Team heavily emphasized Sonamy in Sonic X, but 4Kids rewrote and cut out some scenes that should have been kept the way they were and Amy's confession to Sonic in the Japanese version had Sonic confess to her unlike the English dubbed version which ruined the scene. SEGA of Japan and Sonic Team don't consider anything from Archie Sonic canon. They never did, and before the Super Genesis Wabe reboot, the way Archie Comics handled the game characters was as secondary characters while pushing the Freedom Fighters to the forefront. Archie Sonic was advertising SatAM and the Freedom Fighters more heavily than they were the canon game characters and the video games themselves and SEGA wasn't having that as it was bad for business. Ian Flynn himself said this in his Bumblekast and why when he took over as head writer his end goal was the make Archie Sonic more faithful to the games. This was before SEGA of America had enough of Archie Sonic and cancelled Archie Sonic permanently. IDW Sonic is considered canon to the video games, especially as a canon continuation to Sonic Forces according to Sonic Team's lead designer Takashi Iizuka. Sonic Team and SEGA support IDW Sonic, something they never did for Archie Sonic.
