Welcome, Everyone, to True Blue Reviews! A place where I summarize and analyze Sonic The Hedgehog & Mega Man media. Primarily, this place is focused on comics, but it also dives into cartoons, games, and on the rare occasion, material unrelated to the blue video game heroes.
Spaz drawn issues were always my favorite - I wonder if the ending of this issue was a reference to the "Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog" end credits scene. - They replaced Princess Di with Princess Leia out of respect for the deceased...but Carrie Fisher who played Leia is also dead lol...but at least Leia makes more sense since she's from outer space.
It's pretty weird that in the early 90s, they did all they could to stay away from the name "Dr. Eggman" and yet: - Dr. Robotnik was shaped like an egg - All the egg references were kept in the west. And at 10:19, Sonic's pose was swiped straight from the Sonic OVA, when Sonic and Tails first meet Black Eggman/Metal Robotnik.
I know this is semantics but aren't the Babylon Rogues know thieve's? why would they be invited to a big event and not just arrested on site? I understand fans like them but writer decisions like this really take me out of the world building. Also a Sonic Eggman team up? Yes we the reader understand that Clutch is working behind the scenes to dismantle the restoration which would in turn hurt the world. But Sonic and his team don't have enough information to put that together, they just know somethings up. When they know the world is at stake sure team up with Eggman I can understand that. But teaming up just because Sonic was wrongfully disqualified? is kinda irresponsible. They should attempt to arrest Eggman on site.
As someone who's just completed a business degree yes in the right ball park. Often new leaders can have sinister intentions. Whilst I won't go too in depth for spoilers, so far this architecture has been a good story for kids to learn about the dark arts in business
There are rumors that IDW might lose their licenses. I hope that's a lie, if not they need to do something quick to the sonic comics so they can start selling better. TMNT is the only High seller for them
I disagree that the story failed because they tried telling a Modern Sonic story in a Classic medium. It can work, just use murals or something else to visualize stuff about the plot without using words. I mean, a simple Dragon over a burning island mural. Then an Egg appearing next to it in the next mural. And the Dragon is gone in the third can go a long way.
11:26 Fun fact, in Lagoon City Act 2. A new pathway opens up exclusive for Amy. As Trip asks the Octopus to move its tentacles to open up a tunnel for Amy.
3:46 I disagree. He’s not as crazy as in the 30th anniversary issue. But I don’t think he made enough appearances to really say this is out of character. (Archie doesn’t count as that’s Archie)
6:36 I think the secretly being a softie part is also there because of the guide for Fighters Megamix. It’s where Bean’s dad is confirmed to be Bin Dynamite. 8:40 Him being a soccer fan is also from the same guide. And he’s also a secret character in one of Sega’s 90s Soccer games.
My family got this issue for me as an early birthday gift! After watching this video, it was totally worth it. Also, Surge's loose hairstyle looks SO CUTE!!
Something tell me could Lanolin she is working with Clutch she is traitor Diamond Cutters because Lanolin her problem in general is not to any follow-up investigation on weird activities the Lanolin she suppose should do investigation that Job and order I do not like Lanolin she has Gone too far to dismissing Team Sonic that she is work Clutch if Lanolin do investigation on weird activities the Lanolin she will not dismissing Team Sonic?
I can possibly see a 3rd EX factor in the Babylon Rogues. Given back in Issue 66 that Clutch used the Rogues as a distraction, while the Rogues had their skills wasted, along with the Pride, and Equipment (not to mention Jet's ego) damage, if they didn't know Clutch CleanSweap Inc, but what revenge on him for wasting their time, I can see the Rogues going after him too
Sorry, but Im skipping this arc as well. I don't Belle anywhere, and I still don't care for Lanolin at all! ANd to be honest I am NOT a fan of Sonic Riders.
I saw her on one of the covers for Issue 71, and everyone else that appeared on the cover already appeared in this issue. So, it may be worth checking it out.
Beck, I'm just curious Are you really a fan of Sonic because whenever Belle is around, you've taken more interest into her than the franchise itself. This is Sonic The Hedgehog, not Belle The Tinkerer, just saying.
@@davidtellobenites8715Yes, I'm a Sonic fan, but I prefer the games and cartoons over the comics. I was never really interested in the comics, Archie or IDW. I only got into the idw comics when I heard they were adding a puppet character.
@@videogollumerI still don't like Sonic and the them continuously teaming up with Eggman! It's really getting old! He can not be trusted they should know by now. Especially after the metal virus and Eggperial city stuff! Are the writers this stupid?
@@beckthetinkerbot Maybe it's an opportunity to show that they DO know he can't be trusted; I mean, they were ready to attack him, and Sonic asked what his angle was after hearing him out. They may be very well ready, as possible, to intercept his betrayal. Besides, if he manages to spot Mimic, that slimy sea snake-eyed pile of filth is done for; and Whisper will final be free of his stalking once and for all.
It’s been a while but from what I remember of NASCAR if something goes wrong with the car you go to the pit stop and if they can fix it you can go again. Seems weird that’s not a rule here or at least letting the riders with malfunctioning extreme gear use a different one in the next race. Also I thought it was funny how much Twitter freaked out over Surge with her hair down when we have already seen it.
We’re finally back and things are getting interesting already with this Second Official Arc of this New Saga, the Question is though will this Arc be the Main Event for the Saga or will that be later down the line, I kind of hope for the later. Anyway, I will look forward to see how this Arc turns out and what it will mean for the Saga, As for the X-Factors, yeah i agree with what you said about Surge and Kit, heck i didn’t really need this Issue to think that their inclusion might end up being a mistake on Clutch’s Part, since when considering what they both have been through, saying that i didn’t really buy Surge just trusting Clutch would be a understatement, By the way, I have been curious about Surge in particular ever since Issue #67, so will have my eyes focused on her especially throughout this Saga.
The way I see it, Similarly to Starline Lanolin holds the heroes in such a Hugh regard she's shocked they don't act the way SHE thinks they should act and also much like Starline she's going to learn the hardway that Mindset could get her killed
*Perfect Chaos Cola is such a great call back to SA2 and Archie, as well as a good substitute for what is supposed to be alcohol.* I notice it a couple of issues back, but just now mentioned it. Good call by the writing team.
The Comic series is getting interesting for the first time in a while (not counting the miniseries, I like 90% of them) but this comic is proof that IDW needs to stop adding new heroes.
