Review of the Arcteryx Veilance Nomin Pack. A sleek, black urban-use waterproof EDC pack whose main claim to fame is its sleek black minimalist design, techwear aesthetic, impeccable construction and use of technical fabrics and materials.
* Introduction - 00:00
* Overview - 01:04
* Who it's for/not for - 02:18
* External Design/Features - 03:40
* Back/Straps - 07:10
* Main Compartment - 09:38
* Laptop Compartment - 14:52
* Overall - 18:28
* Other bags to consider - 22:02
Besides its stunning looks and high tech materials, other highlights of the bag include pleasantly moderate levels of interior organisation that make the bag surprisingly useful in EDC situations, extremely protective laptop compartment, interesting shaping and structure and high levels of refinement - from taped seams to hidden adjustment buckles in the edgeless straps, the bag sports an extremely high level of execution and quality.
The main drawbacks of the bag center around its eye watering $800 USD price tag and the fact that main compartment provides no protection for delicate items and thus is better suited for certain types of load outs than others. Other more moderate drawbacks include the inability for the bag to stand on its own, the rather rigid board-like flat back, and the limitations of the harness system under heavier loads.

Great review. I always wondered about the nomin and what the hype was about. Definitely not for me, but I would love to see the bag in person. I know people love the straps, so it was interesting to see that you didn't like it that much. Although it makes sense since it's so thin.

My pleasure! I'm so glad this review was useful for you! And yes, if you get a chance I think it's definitely worth checking out in person just if for no other reason than it's got these really interesting high tech fabrics and construction which are a pleasure to interact with. And the straps - they're nice (and superbly made) but I'm always surprised when I hear others hype them up. They are good and comfortable up to a moderate load but beyond that, I have felt far better straps. (I do think the flat hard back and lack of sternum strap also contribute to the top limits of comfortable load carriage as well - the straps rely on the low profile and surface area to help support the weight, but while that helps with "cutting" into the shoulders, it reaches its limits in how it can distribute that weight over your body due to these other factors, at least in my opinion)

For something like this, I feel a tom bihn freudian slip (medium cafe) would work super nicely in the main compartment to provide extra organization and padding to EDC items :O Might be worth checking out in general? It's a way to add extra organization to simple backpacks, and also has the usability benefit of being able to "lift out your organization" for easier finding or as a portable desk organizer thing if you put it on the table next to you.

I checked out the vapour dayback in person and it definitely feels less "refined" in hand. The material is sturdy but definitely more plasticy. I can't compare directly to the Nomin but I have the Granville which uses the same material. Not to say that the Vapour isn't a great buy! But I was a little surprised by the weight and feel

almost zero interior organization in the front volume, zero strap padding, hard flat board back with zero padding, no bottle holder inside (all it take is one strap), no (real) guick acces pocket.... its original with unique layout, but its not really funcional, in both front and back volume. with some improvements it could be a perfect backpack, even for 800. but not in this state. but i just found your channel, and i love your videos, great review every time.

Hi R1S0! Thanks for that - yeah, this pack definitely comes with some significant trade offs. I loved it so much when I first got it, but (I think I may have mentioned in the video) these days I don't use it all that much as I find other packs on the market have surpassed it in many respects (the Rofmia Shift pack v2 for example still has all the cool exotic material stealth design cred (in my opinion) but also adds a lot of the functionality you mentioned, and is (slightly) cheaper to boot). There have been rumors of an impending v3 Nomin release since earlier this year but other than one blurry photo on a reddit thread nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Hopefully that will address some of the shortcomings of the pack? Thanks for the kind words about my videos! New one coming soon!

Thanks for the review on this pack. Personally I think its unfinished. I like the concept of what Veliance stands for and what they went for with this bag but this bag is still not finished from what they can do. There will no doubt be more revisions of this bag in the future and I truly believe that its at least 3 more revisions away from actually being worth its price (from a consumer standpoint) as well as its grail status. I will buy one of these when that day comes and not a moment sooner.

My pleasure - I can definitely see where you're coming from. When the bag first arrived on the scene I think the external styling and material choice were so dramatically different from most other things on the market that the price, while still eye watering, maybe was easier to justify. But in the years since, the carry world has evolved dramatically (in my opinion), and unusual high tech fabrics (X-PAC, Dyneema, etc.) and sleek minimalist styling can be had from a variety of brands at price points far lower than the Nomin - and often with more refined hardware (fidlock buckles, etc.) choices and superior internal/external organisation as well. I think that's partially why, as I mused in the video, I generally don't find myself using the Nomin as much these days - there's just far better options on the market and the bag is starting to show its age versus the competition. That having been said, I'm a big Veilance fan so I'm with you in excitedly waiting to see what else Arcteryx comes up with in the next revision of this bag!

Hello! Nice review and very good video! Just wondering how’s the durability of the strap? Especially the connection part between the flat shoulder pad and the nylon belt?
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Hi Jia! So I've owned and used this bag for years and I've never had any problems with the durability of the strap. Granted, I haven't used it as frequently in recent years but I still feel I've given it quite a thorough work out (as you can tell by the wear pattern on the material itself). I saw that recently on reddit or somewhere someone had a question about strap durability (the edge stitching coming loose?) - at least as far as my experience is concern this has never been a problem. One possibility to consider is that Arcteryx may have switched manufacturing locations for this bag between the time when I bought this bag several years ago and bags currently being produced, but I have no information on that (or whether it would even affect quality. That having been said, overall I do agree with the general consensus that Arcteryx quality and innovation standards in their mainline have noticeably been decreasing over the years - partially as as a result of choices to target more mass market consumers over their previous harder-core demographic, but also clearly reflected in cost-cutting choices in some of their build and construction. I haven't personally seen that in the Veilance line to date but maybe (?) that might be a possibility that could account for possible different experiences that I've had and others. That having been said, personally I would not let durability concerns keep me from picking up this bag as I still thing it is very well built. (other concerns such as price, feature-to-price ratio, boxy back section, lack of sternum strap etc. would weigh higher)

Yes! It's actually one of the few non-black bags I own - the copy I have is in a bright orange :) I don't use it that often these days but I find it to be an interesting intermediary between the Arcteryx Brize and Arcteryx Alpha FL line of bags. There's a lot to love about it (the high-tech design, the materials, etc.) but also a few frustrations I found - the main compartment can be a bit tight/hard to access even with the side zip, the g-hooks for the top brain tend to slip off and there's no real external good hydration option (i.e. water bottle/bladder holder etc.) However, I tend to use it more for general cold/wet weather outdoor hiking whereas it seems to be designed more purposefully as a ski-use type pack so I do chalk a lot of that up to my using it for something it wasn't exactly intended for. I'd love to see a more general-purpose interpretation of the SK concept in the future - would snatch that up in a second!

Great review, I like the term "design premium" that you used because the aesthetic and construction are really what inflates the price of this bag. The price to feature ratio is very poor on the Nomin and it seems to be more of a fashion accessory than a serious EDC bag.
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Hi Helio - thanks for the kind words! Yeah, there's a huge design premium when it comes to this bag. In terms of organisation I did find the bag more useful for EDC than I was originally expecting when I bought it - I think partially because I tend to carry at least one admin pouch with me and that plus the two large pockets ends up being just useful enough that it clears my bar for EDC use. More problematic (for me at least) are some of the other shortcomings of the bag - the unsuitability of certain types of load outs for the main pouch and the somewhat "form over function" design choices around the back panel/overall shaping (wrt it not being able to stand on its own). So for me, it's definitely usable as an EDC bag, but it's nowhere near the best choice for a daily driver - but it does look really fashionable at least! 😂

Would GRANVILLE 16 fit: rain jacket like Field LT, light merino pullover or 80g insulation jacket, laptop 15”, classic bellroy pouch, 400ml water bottle and things like phone, glasses, mask and other small stuff?
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Great question. So I just tried the following load out and it worked: 16" Macbook Pro, Zeta AR, Cerrium SL, Classic Bellroy pouch (with MacBook charger + cable), 500ml water bottle (Microlite 500L) + normal EDC stuff (phone, keys, wallet, masks) and it all fit, though it was definitely quite full (but still not looking overstuffed). I don't own the Field LT but looking at the specs it looks like it's the same general weight as the Zeta AR - the biggest question might be how well it folds down (the Zeta AR is quite compact, but I'm wondering if the Field LT might be a bit bulkier when folded due to the pocketing and bigger hide-away hood). For the computer, while a slim laptop like a MacBook fits (just barely in the case of the 16"), if you have a thicker laptop (even if it's only 13/15") you probably will struggle to fit it in the laptop sleeve as it's quite slim. Finally, I kinda felt like stuff was a bit "pressed up" upon by the two clothing items - you can use the two compartments of the bag to help organize a bit (maybe field pouch and glasses in the front section, clothing in the rear, stuff the water bottle down the side) but it was a little messier than I usually prefer - I also found the interior organiser panel a bit harder to access due to the fullness of the main compartment (but you can still make it work, it's not unusable by any stretch). Hope this helps!

Thank for fast reply! I had apex but i sold it due to limited external access and i did not prefer flap opening. Harness system is very comfortable and would prefer black apex. I currently have Axiom 24 which is great pack but maybe over engineering for EDC use. I prefer minimalist organisation like Nomin v2 is having. But then again people talks a lot about v3 coming out soon do maybe is worth waiting? Does the Granville pick same marks snd scuffs as Nomin do? My bet would be that Nomin is quite similar to Apex material in therms of patina over time. Also Apex material gets character with use. Really tempted to buy Nomin but my feeling is that 800€ is a little to much for it.
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Sorry for the late reply. The Granville does pick up marks/scuffs but I *think* maybe not to the same extent as the Nomin. However, I find it a little hard to judge this accurately since I've had the Nomin for several years and used it quite heavily especially in the beginning, while the Granville I haven't had as long and haven't used nearly as hard. However, I do feel that while both are made of the AC2 fabric, there are definitely differences in the surfaces (they are different variants) that affect how much (in my impression) they show dust/marks - I feel the Nomin is more matte and as a result stuff tends to stick to it more. Regarding the Nomin v3, I saw a reddit post recently where someone had snapped a photo of what they claimed was the Nomin v3 in the wild (some shop in the Philippines?) but obviously as it hasn't been released officially yet, it's hard to say for sure. But based on what I saw in that photo I didn't feel that the improvements were necessarily for the better versus the v2 - but again, hard to say based off of an unconfirmed photo. Regarding the 800 EUR price tag... that is a hard choice for sure. As I mentioned in the video, I think a huge chunk of that is the design premium and while I am glad I own this bag and certainly don't regret buying it, that was years ago and I got a lot of use out of it. These days, for my carry load outs and my carry style, the Nomin doesn't usually get a lot of use and more often than not sits on my shelf while I daily carry other (much cheaper) bags much more frequently. If you can find it used/on sale then I would say it becomes a much easier choice!

Sorry for the late reply Andrew! It's a generic neoprene form-fitting camera cover. There are many different varieties/sizes available from a variety of sellers - if you search "neoprene camera case" on Amazon you can find a bunch of options and once you start clicking through them you'll get suggestions for different sizes/shapes (depending on your camera/lens combo etc.). I have a bunch of different ones of these depending on what camera I'm using that day and find them one of the best ways to carry and protect cameras with minimal bulk and weight - important for EDC and one bag travel in my opinion.

Nicely done, and very fair comments. The discussion about price might be a bit much, though; no one is forced to buy it so to each their own. The Rofmia is nice, but not that much cheaper. The Granville 16 might make more sense as a comparison at less than a third of the price. You might have also noted that the Ash colour, which I purchased, is very nice for those who want something other than black. Also, rumours about the impending V3 are rife.
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment! I hear where you're coming from regarding discussions of price, but I think I have to respectfully disagree on this point - allow me to explain why. While you're right in that it's true that no one is ever "forced" to buy anything, I don't think that really matters in this case. Despite not being forced to buy things, people can and do engage in purchase decisions every day of their own free will. And by definition, a purchase definition requires a weighing of expected utility (both feature-wise and also abstractly, i.e. "design premium") against cost (both in terms of literal dollars as well as opportunity cost from having spent that money on something else). Given that most consumers are at least (somewhat) rational, I think it's a fair assumption that someone giving me 26 minutes of their life to watch a review video I make would want to walk away with at least some additional input to help them weigh these trade offs. Consider for example, that if this bag were priced at $100 USD, people would be snatching them up left and right. Conversely, if this bag were priced at $3000, first of all, it would be a very different market/demographic (luxury goods) and secondly everyone who does not routinely engage in the purchase of luxury/veblen goods would be almost universal in concluding it is radically overpriced. So what then, do we make of a bag whose MSRP of $800 I'd almost go so far as to term an outlier in terms of the overall price spectrum for non-luxury bags in terms of 2020 US dollars? Again, leaving aside the outright luxury market and its corresponding consumer demographic, I'd say this is bag is priced as something the average consumer could technically afford, but would consider to be a non-trivial purchase that also comes at a considerable opportunity cost (for example: For my $800, do I buy this Nomin backpack or do I buy a much cheaper backpack that has the same basic functionality *and* also buy a brand new smartphone? Which one will give me more overall total utility?) Now, I do acknowledge that it's often "to each their own" - you'll note in my video I'm careful not to directly assume that viewers' share similar valuation paradigms, financial circumstances or even aesthetic tastes and that I phrase all of observations and opinions as precisely that - my perspective. However, I do detail the various points I considered as I retrospectively evaluate the trade offs between the utility I ultimately derived from this bag over the years and the cost I paid for it, and I hope that this exposition is useful for others facing a similar decision at present. Regarding the Granville, the Rofmia (and the Aer) - so I actually chose these three packs as examples of alternatives at different price points though I didn't outright discuss the price in the interest of time. The Aer, priced at ≈$125 USD is something that I feel is relatively accessible to the average consumer. The Granville 16, at around twice the price (≈$220 USD) is also still accessible, but probably something that the average person would think about a little bit before pulling the trigger. (I'm leaving aside carry enthusiasts such as myself for whom $250-300 USD bags have (some might say unfortunately) become normalized as an average backpack price) I do agree with you that there is a large jump from the $220 USD price point of the Granville to the $600 asking price of the Rofmia, however, I'm not sure I agree that "[the Rofmia is] not that much cheaper" - $600 vs $800 equates to a 25% discount, and at least for me that's a pretty big difference in price. Returning to our conversation on opportunity cost and utility above - the choice could be stated as: "For $800 you can either have 1 Nomin pack or you can have 1 Rofmia daypack *and* 1 Granville 16L." That's a pretty big difference (assuming, I suppose, that our hypothetical consumer would be enthusiastic about having two backpacks! 😂) Ideally though, I wish I could have introduced maybe another pack that was priced around the $300-$400 mark (i.e. 50% the cost) but I have also been trying to keep the length of the videos down.... Regarding Ash - yes you're right. In retrospect I wish I had spent a few moments discussing the ash colourway a bit more in the video (I own the Seque tote in Ash), but I was too tired to redo the video so alas.... And also yes, the V3 - I thought it was originally coming out in the Fall 2020 season they just released but I didn't see any information about it in the end. I probably should have mentioned about that in the video as well. Thanks again for the feedback and the interesting discussion!

The Mountainborn Very thoughtful response, I enjoy the debate. The Nomin is the most expensive bag I’ve ever bought, fortunately it was on sale for 30% off at Arc’teryx (if I remember correctly) which softened the blow. I’m normally a Goruck or MR guy. For me, it was a pandemic pity purchase as a treat. I’ve had many similar discussions with friends over watch prices. What are your thoughts on the Arcteryx Veilance Seque Tote? The aesthetic really appeals to me. Do you find it practical for EDC/travel carry on?
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn Год назад
Hi Christian - great question! I have the Veilance Seque Tote (mine is a few years old so keep that in mind - not sure if they have made any subtle updates in more recent years, though it doesn't look like it). Like you, the aesthetic really appeals to me. As an EDC/travel carry on I find it limited by its lack of organization - there is only one single interior pocket and no externally accessible pocket which I found impeded its usability for my particular needs. As an example, with only a single interior pocket I was forced to put my keys, phone, wallet and earbuds (plus random small things like chapstick) all in the same pocket which both increased the chances of damage (particularly keys scratching phone or earbuds) and also made it annoyingly slow to access things quickly (since there's two actions - opening top zip then interior zip, whilst fumbling with an overloaded pocket). The other challenge I found - which is not unique to the Seque, but to many totes in general - is that there was no good way to carry a laptop/tablet in it - which is something I need for my particular EDC use. You can put it in a case then drop it in the case but you have to be very careful not to damage it when carrying the tote - the lack of padded sidewalls or structure means the bag instantly "bows down" when you put something dense in it (like a laptop vertically oriented) which also kind of ruins the aesthetic a bit. Like many simple-styled totes, I found it did best with bigger lightweight, possibly even bulky things - think puffy jackets, folded sweater, etc. It also does better when filled up (again like most simple totes) - so you could use it carry groceries or purchases it it. When the bag is "full" it holds its shape better and doesn't sag so that makes it much easier to manipulate. Conversely, its at its worse when half or partially full with semi-heavy or dense objects. While for the EDC use case I didn't find it so useful for the reasons listed above, in One Bag Travel I found it made a useful "second bag" for one particular use case: When I knew I was going to buy stuff at the destination that I would want to bring back with me but which wouldn't fit in my one-bag-travel backpack. In this case, I would bring the seque tote as my second bag to stuff my purchases in for the way home - its advantages are it is quite lightweight, folds quite flat and also as a tote, this lets you use it whilst simultaneously wearing a backpack which I find super important. (nothing worse than people wearing two backpacks front-to-back in the airport haha). And its very high volume to weight ratio means it is ideal for maximum carry with minimal weight which is important for this particular use case. One other nice point of this bag I want to highlight is that I quite like the versatility of the dual simple shoulder straps - you can either hand carry or shoulder carry it without a bunch of fuss of adjusting buckles and the non-used straps don't look bad given the sleek veilance aesthetic. Anyway, in closing, I didn't find this tote useful for my particular needs in the EDC use case but for one particular scenario (the "second bag to bring bunch of purchases home") in One bag Travel I found it worked well. I hope this helps!

@@TheMountainborn Thanks so much, this helps a ton. The usecase you mention is one I run into frequently, so I think I will give the Seque Tote a try. These days I mostly do one bag travel, but often need a more business-friendly option when I get to where I’m going. A packable tote feels like a good solution. Cheers!

Is it big enough to pack: 3 merino tshirts, 3underwear, 3 socks, 1 Ligh pants, Conduit lt down jacket, Deploy LT goretex jacket (light), Merino light hoody, thin shirt, minimal tech kit, minimal toiletry kit?
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 2 года назад
Haha well hello there my fellow Arcteryx/Veilance enthusiast :) So long story short - maybe but it depends and I'm guessing it really depends on three things 1. How bulky your merino light hoody and "light pants" are 2. How truly minimal your "minimal tech kit" is 3. How truly minimal your "minimal toiletry kit" is Regarding these things, I either own them or have something very similar so I can confirm they fit: * 3 merino tshirts, 3underwear, 3 socks, Conduit lt down jacket, Deploy LT goretex jacket (light) Note that even with the load out above it's starting to get pretty filled up in the main compartment. Pants and hoodies - even light ones - tend to be fairly bulky (keep in mind you've already got a rolled up down layer in there which even compressed is fairly bulky when trying to fit into an EDC bag) so it really depends on those - if you're talking super thin fabric for the pants (something like the Arcteryx Stradium Pants or the Incendo Pants) and an equally super thin merino hoody then maybe. Additional things you can do to save bulk - skip the tech kit and pack the tech stuff in the build in top dump shelf in the top of the bag - most small tech kit contents should be able to fit in there. And go with the smallest of Dopp kits out there - I have made some truly small yet full fledged ones that fit in something like the Mammut Washbag Travel (www.mammut.com/us/en/products/2520-00590-0001/washbag-travel) but to do that you need to basically trim down your toothbrush and make (melt down and reform) your own tiny deodorant into smaller cases etc. So I suppose it depends on how far you're willing to go on this too :)

Do you think the Granville 16 will fit a 2023 16 inch MacBook Pro? I'm considering the new version, and I can't seem to find a good review on it.
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 8 месяцев назад
Hi @carlosgraterol - the Granville backpack has been redesigned at least once since the version that I showed in this review video and I don't have the latest version so I can't speak definitively as to whether a 2023 16" MBP will fit in the latest iteration of the Granville. However, looking at the reviews for the latest Granville there is one that mentions it will fit a 15" MBP and as an owner of both a 15" Intel MBP and a 16" M2 MBP, I can speak from experience that bags that fit a 15" MBP tend to also fit the 16" MBP as well, so my *guess* (and I want to reiterate this a guess based on another person's review as opposed to confirmed by my own testing) is that the latest Granville will likely fit a 2023 16" MBP. (there is also a packhacker review that suggests the 16" MBP will fit though it is a tight fit) That said, it looks like the latest version of the Granville has redesigned the back panel and now uses a much rougher mesh that at least a few reviews seem to suggest are quite harsh and destructive to clothing versus the previous backpanels (such as the one on the bag I showed in this review) so that may be something to keep in mind. I hope this helps!

@@TheMountainborn Wow, thank you for quickly replying to a comment from a video posted years ago. You even researched an answer for me, which shows how much you care. Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Considering everything you mentioned, I'll probably look for a different alternative. For now, my frontrunner is the CPL24 v3. Probably the mirror version. Lastly, I just wanted to say that you are without a doubt my favorite bag reviewer. You make the best, most comprehensive and detailed reviews out there. Your effort shows and we appreciate it very much. Thank you!

Ah gotcha! Actually that is something I made myself by sewing some elastic webbing to a broad piece of nylon strap backing. If you're looking for a commercially available option, you might want to consider something like the Viperade PL7 EDC pouch, etc. Amazon link, non-affiliate: www.amazon.com/VIPERADE-Organizer-Accessories-Backpack-Tactical/dp/B0BRXT23NL/ref=sr_1_14

Will a 17" laptop fit in this backpack?
@TheMountainborn
@TheMountainborn 3 года назад
Hi Jason! So the compartment can fit a 15" Macbook pro (and the newer 16" models as well) but I think when we start getting up into the 17" territory I think it really depends on the particular model you have. (for example a giant 17" Alienware gaming PC won't fit, but something that is really svelte and similar to a macbook might. If you let me know the dimensions of your PC I can try to measure and let you know!

Hi Mick - I bought this bag quite a while ago so I don't know if the naming has changed since then, but I believe this was just termed the "black" colourway when I purchased it. From my understanding "Ash" is a very different, lighter grey colourway.

Other bags to consider was shot without thinking of those, who might want to consider it. The one for $600 the author pronounce in a way - one would never figure out what was said. It is an interesting alternative, but I learned English as a second language and my listening practice was actually perfect to me until now. I could not get a shit out of what he is mumbling there! That brings a lot of frustration. Ok, you don't want to pronounce brand names distinctively, wouldn't it be nice to list all the items' brand names in comment below? Wouldn't it be a little bit more professional to provide a link to you own review for the pack under consideration? :) Well, I'm writing it after some time... It occurred to me that I can turn on subtitles... Though even there not all the wording is correct, though it allows to figure out the name of the $600 pack/ :) Rofmia Shift Daypack V2, for Christ sake! ))

Hi @user-jw7wh5vx1s - First of all, you have my admiration as a learner of English as a second language - your written communication is excellent. As someone who learned English as a second language himself, I understand how difficult it is to master - great job! Secondly, my apologies for being unclear on the pronunciation of the bag name. Rofmia is a fairly well-known brand in certain circles, especially amongst the type of people who tend to view my videos and I probably did not take sufficient care to enunciate the name clearly enough for people who might not be as familiar. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Regarding not writing down the names of the products mentioned in this review - I made this review video several years ago so it is quite old. In more recent videos I usually list some of the bags and products I mention in the videos either in screen text overlays or in the video description. I don't usually write down all the details etc. in the video description however, as unlike some other review channels I do this as a hobby and don't usually participate in any kind of affiliate links etc. so it's always a balance between the annoyance of having to write out a long detailed text explanation or just just posting a video and then going on traveling and living my life ;). But if/when people ask for clarification in comments I usually try my best to answer so if there's anything else you want to know that I featured in the video just let me know. Oh and in case you haven't found it yet, here is the link to my review of the Rofmia Shift Daypack v2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3WKLvjI6LnU.html

Hello! I have a question for the bag. The connection between the flat shoulder pad and nylon strap (not the length adjust part but the connection part that the nylon strape gets into the nylon strap), there’s a seam inside I found that it is loosened. Wondering if it will affect the durability of the shoulder strap. Thank you very much!

Yeah... it's definitely an eye watering price tag 😢 My personal opinion is that while it might have been possible to justify this price tag when this bag first came out as there was honestly nothing like it out there, over the past few years the carry world overall has evolved significantly and beautifully designed, minimalist bags made out of sexy, high tech fabrics are now more commonly available at lower price points and often with much better functionality. I still hang on to this in my collection as it was my first real "grail bag" but I don't really use it that much anymore as it just doesn't compare so well with more modern bags.

😂 ahahahhaa So my honest thoughts - I have a special sentimental place in my heart for the Nomin as it was one of the first "grail bags" I ever copped. And years ago when it first came out, it was (at least as far as I knew) pretty revolutionary - there just weren't very many high tech sleek minimalist bags like this out on the market, and the whole idea of taking high tech outdoor gear and applying that to urban use cases didn't really exist like it does today. But today in 2022, time - and the competition - has moved on and I think the Nomin hasn't really kept up. There are many, many bags with a similar aesthetic, equal or superior materials and generally even better, more modern innovations at cheaper (sometimes significantly so) price points. For me, the Nomin is beautiful for what it represented and I still keep it in my collection and love it for that - but if I were someone else, without these emotional attachments, who was looking to spend the kind of money a new Nomin goes for, I would seriously consider many of the other competitors out there. I don't quite think the Nomin is a rip-off, but its price point is very high for what it offers in 2022 and I think you can probably do much better (unless you are dead set on getting the Nomin). I hope this helps!
