For all the people who say "Oh, he's such a douchebag now, with his leather jacket and sunglasses" - That's just his style! His fashion sense. He's obviously still the sweetest thing on earth.

Alex wears his glasses inside because he keeps his eyes closed while he is singing. He's not doing it to be disrespectful or anything.

I really don't think he's trying to be douchy or arrogant. I think he acts like that because he's just shy and he always seems extremely uncomfortable during interviews. I think that he just likes to avoid the spotlight and he probably just doesn't know how to act when someone praised him or gives him attention. Beside that, amazing song :)

you guys should really chill the fuck out about their popularity, cocky attitude and new look. like, first of all if you haven't noticed they've been changing their look all the time to kind of make it match to the style of their new album. even their "sheffield lads" look was a uniform and a choice. i am not making this up, alex himself said so. second, they deserve to be cocky even if they may seem like douches. come on, wouldn't you be cocky if you were the greatest "new" rock band in the world without even signing to a major label? and finally, they're popular and mainstream, so what? they deserved it. it's not like they sold out or anything, they kept going the way they've always been going, they just kinda changed they music style because it would have been boring to hear the same songs over and over. they still make great music. are you annoyed by all the new so-called fans? just ignore them, if they're real fans they will stay fans forever, if they're not then in a few months they'll probably just forget about AM. plus, if you know you're a real fan, why do you even care about all the others? are you jealous of arctic monkeys? yeah i know you are, because i am sometimes too, but... just enjoy the fucking music because in the end that's what music is all about. peace out.

This is why I keep sharing my excitement and pride for one of the most innovative bands ever. They really steered music towards a new era, they've been an influence and a reference for whoever tried to enter music and to access a strict audience without the heaviness and confusion mainstream often determines. I think that a band like this deserved to attain a wider audience, thoroughly and deeply considered as the founders of a personal style (they don't want to base their sound on typical chorus or medleys). When you listen to Arctic you slowly grasp what music should give off: inspiration, sentiments, self-esteem and peace as well. The artist you look for should be irreplaceable, he should suit all of your sentiments and be proper to communicate both sides of the medal (happiness and sadness). Just for the record, Alex keeps up with the great work in TLSP too.
