Raymond Brown are leaders in the recycling of incinerator bottom ash.
At the Ardley Energy Recovery Facility they are working in partnership with Viridor to recycle Oxfordshire's incinerated ash into a sustainable product which can be used as an aggregate in construction.

Passed this facility going down the M40 last weekend, wondered what it was, great video!

How do you handle the fly ash? It is a hazardous waste with high amounts of heavy metals, among others. Also how is the recycled aggregate ensured to be safe of leaching hazardous pollutants? (mainly metals again)

It's probably just the pcb. Those are usually made of fiberglass which is very resistant to heat

@@alex9621 Could be, though it looks like unburned plastic. I sometimes go to drop waste into the feeding chute of the same type of facility, so I wonder what could survive through the burn depending on the surrounding trash.

It is fair to show the whole picture and not lead people into bias. Every technology has implications and consequences, and hardly nothing is 100% "green". Please comment
