God I never knew that there was a keycap for the Tumindig character from Tarantandong Kalbo. Might have to check that one out along with the Mac one, been planning to get that one for a long time. Great vid once again!
I hate the "Artesian" terminology... It is LITERALLY just a scam to justify charging insane prices where they run a NFT/streetwear-style artificial scarcity racket... Some of the resin ones with tons of hand painted and modeled little details are basically the only thing that deserves such a price tag... Everything else, like the ones you mentioned at the start, are just simple molds that take no time at all to produce and paint, and they could easily be produced in bulk by the tens of thousands for pennies each if they chose to (but they choose not to on purpose so they can charge you $80-400 for 5 cents of plastic and 2-5 minutes of labor). The term started out as and should remain "novelty keycaps", and you differentiate between the type with either "hand made" or "mass produced" at the front.
any artisan worth 80+ is guaranteed to be hand made and is a work of art, are they worth the price based off material alone? no. but that doesn’t mean they’re easily mass produced. hype and scarcity can inflate price but that can happen to anything
Hi Sir Caloy I just got a Baby Yoda Artisan Keycap from a local shop in the Philippines it has good quality but a few unnoticeable mispaints which is ok for the price of only ₱250!
