My way of looking at it is that we are not saved by works but by faith, but if you don't walk with Jesus, are you putting your faith on him? It's like saying "Yea I trust you, but I don't want to do what you say."
Real. It’s one of those things where if you are saved naturally you’re going to want to do everything in your power to please God. It shouldn’t be a question of “what can I do and still be saved”

@@antonyrodgers2362I was not saying that we shouldn’t keep the law. I apologize if it seemed that way that’s not what I was saying at all. We are actually instructed to keep the law and we are instructed to keep God’s commandments and turn away from sin. But it is true that we are not justified by the law. We are not justified by any law. There is a difference between justification and righteous living. Righteous living is obviously what we are commanded to do but righteous living and staying away from sin does not actually justify us or make us right with God. Only faith in Jesus makes us justified & right with God. But it is very true faith without works is dead. The whole reason we keep the law is to show that we love God but in doing so it doesn’t make us “more righteous” if that makes sense
hey i have a question bro, it’s a question i’ve struggled with for a while, is it a bad thing or bad sign that i don’t really feel especially grieved about a habitual sin i struggle with until AFTER i’ve committed it? like i know it’s wrong before and during when i do it and fall short but i don’t really feel grieved and especially bad about it until after ive done it, like right now thinking about that sin i know it’s wrong and that i shouldn’t do it, but i don’t feel super horrible about the fact i’ve done it until after the fact, i hope that makes sense. just wondering if that’s normal
yes, that’s the conviction from the holy spirit telling you that it’s wrong. We are constantly battling between our spirit and flesh and your spirit knows it’s wrong but your flesh needs to be disciplined. That’s where fasting, praying and seeking god comes into play.. fasting can deliver you but you have to be truly honey with the lord about what you’re struggling with, let him know everything and keep praying during your fast. (not just one time)
Hebrews 12:4 NIV [4] In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. You are dead to sin, and made righteous by the blood of jesus. So tell yourself that either I die following Christ or follow Christ & reflect him for this life belongs to himhim but never will do this sin. (A strong commitment) .
