6). Isaiah 56:3-8 says, “Let not the FOREIGNER who has joined himself to the LORD say, “the LORD will surely separate me from His people”, and let not the eunuch (castrated and ineffectual) say, “ Behold, I am a dry tree”... who keeps my Sabbaths, chooses things that please Me and hold fast to my covenant..and the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to Him, to love the Name of the LORD, to be His servants , and who keeps my Sabbaths and does nit profane and holds fast my covenant, these will I bring to My holy mountain, make them joyful in My house of prayer, their burnt sacrifices and ifferings will be accepted on my altar”. This evidence alone suggests that the foreigners in Exodus 12 who join the Sons of Israel and the mix multitude embracing the faith in YHVH will have the full rights as do the native born who embrace the LORD. Sacrifices and burnt offerings signify clean animals, eating kosher foods, observing high Sabbaths, observing circumcision and in Moses’ time were part of the whole congregation that even took part stoning to death those that defied the laws of God (Numbers 15:30-36) as well as the story in Leviticus 24:10-23 where the whole congregation stoned to death a mixed race believer but who cursed and profaned the Name. Isaiah 66:18-21 says, “ I will gather from among nations and tongues to...to distant lands who have not heard My fame or seen My glory..I will bring your kinsmen from all nations...to my holy mountain Jerusalem..just as Sons of Israel..I will also take some of them as priests and for Levites”, says Adonai. Isaiah 66:22-23 , “just as the new heaven and the new earth I shall make...from one New Moon to another , from one Sabbath to another...all flesh will come and bow down before Me,” says Adonai. Zechariah 14:1-21 is a prophecy when Jesus returns and sets His feet on the Mount of Olives which will divide and create a valley. He will destroy the enemies and after that He will be King over all the earth forever. Then all the survivors from the nations that attacked Jerusalem will go year to year to worship the King of Host and to celebrate the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacle - the 7th Feast).And any nation that does not will have no rain...

I'm a believer in Jesus and I know I've been grafted in and according to Galatians 3:29 I'm a partaker of the promises given to Abraham. This same chapter explains that it is by faith and NOT by any works of the law. Galatians 2:16 KJV - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. This brings to mind that the Lord caused the earthly nation of Israel to exist again without the temple. It's the Lord's way of showing that his way is NOT by a physical temple which is a shadow of the real temple; which is Jesus along with all that believe in his Name. Blessed be his Name forever.

This is a silly argument... You're right, the law was never for gentiles, so it's basically beating a strawman. In fact, the term "gentile believer" is an oxymoron. When we follow the Father through the Messiah, we come *out* of the nations(gentiles) and are joined to Israel (Yah's one people, His one nation). You're either of Israel and under covenant, our outside of God's people and outside of the promise. There is only one standard of right and wrong, one definition of sin, our Creator's Law. Until when? Until heaven and earth pass away... which happens in Rev 21, and we're not there yet.

I posted this as a response to another commenter but feel that I should put it here as well... There are many ethnic Jews among that movement so idk where people are making the assumption that it's only a gentile thing... Also, why would we base our opinion on this matter on what unsaved Jews think when God said that #1 He has blinded them and #2 that the reason that God had to get gentiles to do His work in the first place was because the Jews refused to be a light to the nations like they were intended and instead became too ethnically focused and closed off. Salvation is for the Jew and Gentile and always has been and always will be.

Hey Rob! I’m a Pronomian Christian and love hearing your perspective and challenges to those who believe some parts of the Torah are still applicable. Two questions for you: 1. iI you come to the conclusion that the Torah is still expected of Jewish believers but not Gentiles, doesn’t that create two standards of morality for Christians? 2. If you come to the conclusion that the Torah is still expected of Jewish believers but not Gentiles, how much percentage of Jewish ethnicity do they need to have? (I promise this isn’t a “gotcha” question, I sincerely would like to know your thoughts on this). Thank you for the work you do, and look forward to a response! (:

You strike me as someone who takes his faith very seriously and gives it a 100% honest effort. For that I applaud you. I come for the Noahide/Jewish perspective however. @@joshuamelton9148 I'm not even Hebrew roots but I have done a good amount of research into this movement and though there are a minority that reject Paul, they are outright rebuked by the majority of the community. So I don't think it's fair to ascribe those beliefs to the entire group. With all of the wacky beliefs circling in Christianity we would have to call that false too. I would even consider wacky beliefs in Christianity to be the norm tbh 😅 but Christ is bigger than these things, and and you can't judge God's Word through the lense of people. Because we are all sinners. None is good not one, only God. If someone identifies as Hebrew roots but they affirm that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works that any man should boast; they simply have a love for Gods Law the way they understand it, what is the problem? Are they not our brothers and sisters? And I haven't seen anyone reject the triune nature of God at all. I think the problem is semantics. Just because someone rejects the confusing nature of the "doctrine of the Trinity" doesn't mean that they are rejecting the triune nature of God unless they say otherwise. Every Hebrew roots person I've seen discuss this issue affirms God's triune nature, they just don't like the *word* "Trinity" because to them it makes it sound like 3 separate "God's", which we all agree isn't the case. It's really just semantics as I said. There are lots of "oneness pentecostals" who I have seen coming much more closely to that line of heresy and many of them even crossing over into outright denying the Son.
@joshuamelton9148
@joshuamelton9148 2 года назад
@@charitybrook6279 This is the issue with Hebrew roots movement because they vary from group to group. I have encountered a plenty of Hebrew roots that reject the Trinity and see Jesus as a created being. This is basically the heresy of arianism. The oneness Pentecostal preach the heresy of Modalism. Also some of the people that I talk too who Hebrew roots when ask questions are ultimately works based salvation. We practice the law to stay saved and not lose your salvation. That is preaching a different gospel. Galatians 1:8-9 "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!" There are way too many red flags. I had encounters with another group called the Hebrew Israelites. Most of them were members of the Hebrew roots and then left to become Hebrew Israelites. The Hebrew Israelites like the Hebrew roots movement vary from group to group but they adopted alot of heresies as well.
@charitybrook6279
@charitybrook6279 2 года назад
@@joshuamelton9148 I agree about the Hebrew Israelites because they are a smaller sect and their entire doctrine is built on genealogies which goes against Paul's command to us not to obsess over these things... I just think Hebrew roots, (like Christianity) is too broad of a belief system to generalize you know?? I agree there are red flags, which is why I am not Hebrew roots. But from what I have seen I really feel like the majority are just trying to walk in communion with God and it isn't about salvation at all. So I see them as brothers and sisters. If from an individuals doctrine it is clear that they are relying on their works to save them then I mark and avoid that person for fellowship and instead treat them as if they need the gospel. I would do the same to any Christian who treads on God's grace and uses it to indulge sin. I think there must be a balance somewhere here... I believe Jesus showed us that balance in His own application of the Law. What do you think of this? Like Paul said, "follow me as I follow Christ" right?

7). Acts 15:28-29 is in the context of Acts 15:19-21. The 4 Laws of Moses were given to the Gentiles who are turning to God to abstain from contamination of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled or blood “for Moses in ancient generations has had in every city those who proclaim him since he is read in all the synagogues every Sabbath (v21)” thus “no greater burden than these (v28).” This means that the gentile who is new and turning to God was not required to have a physical cicumcision but has to follow 4 things and the rest of Moses laws will be read in the synagogue every Sabbath. This means that these early gentile believers were observing the Sabbath and learning from the OLD TESTAMENT. The purpose of the 4 laws of Moses as essentials is because they will learn more from what is sexual immorality as this is a very vague non specific terminology that the gentiles are not aware of, what is strangled animal and blood and everything to do with its ramifications as Moses is read in the synagogue every Sabbath and what is contamination of idols and its ramifications. It was not given for the sake of having a fellowship between Jews and gentile believers in Jesus as the speaker opined. The Sons of Israel took 40 years to learn Moses Laws in the wilderness. Paul perfected the Laws of Moses but still failed because of his sinful nature. Thus to say that the four things were it...is unfounded and did not know the context. The gentile believers going in the synagogue on the Sabbath will learn about Feasts of God as they are tied closely to the Sabbath. They will learn kosher food as they are tied closely to the Feasts of God. The older believers are aware of Isaiah 66 and Zechariah 14. Jesus said in Revelation chapters 2-3 that those who practice sexual immorality and eat foods offered to idols are in danger of being spat out from His mouth or be removed from the book of life. Colossian gentile believers in chapter 2 were faithfully observing the drinks, food, Sabbath, New Moon, and feasts of God that Paul told them to not let anyone judge them about these matters as they are a foreshadowing of THINGS TO COME, the reality is in Messiah. (Meaning Jesus Himself practiced them and they foreshadow events in the future like Isaiah 66, Zechariah 14, His second coming, the rapture and trumpet sound blasting etc. )

I was invited to a group that meets on Saturdays and I considered them my brothers and sisters in Christ. After many discussions with one of the older men, I eventually realized that he considers himself the leader of the group. He also considers anyone who does not keep Torah as unsaved. What really bugs me is that in his story in how he came to believe what he believes, he says that God led him to this understanding. So any question or logical reasoning I bring up is met with an automatic response of "that can't be right" because he believes his understanding is direct from God. Almost all the Torahist I've listened to ascribe to this belief and it's disheartening to see that it's growing in popularity. I've personally witnessed them looking down on other Christians as well. Once he realized I wasn't just going to follow his lead without question his demeanor changed towards me and I'm wondering if I should stop going. Anyways thanks for these videos, they help a lot.

Study of the Hebrew scriptures, along with received writings circulating in the nascent Church, led Marcion to conclude that many of the teachings of Jesus were incompatible with the actions of Yahweh, characterized as the belligerent god of the Hebrew Bible. Marcion responded by developing a ditheistic system of belief around the year 144.[note 2] This notion of two gods-a higher transcendent one and a lower world-creator and ruler-allowed Marcion to reconcile his perceived contradictions between Christian Old Covenant theology and the Gospel message proclaimed by the New Testament. In contrast to other leaders of the nascent Christian Church, however, Marcion declared that Christianity was in complete discontinuity with Judaism and entirely opposed to the scriptures of Judaism. Marcion did not claim that these were false. Instead, he asserted that they were entirely true, but were to be read in an absolutely literalistic manner, one which led him to develop an understanding that Yahweh was not the same God spoken of by Jesus. For example, Marcion argued that the Genesis account of Yahweh walking through the Garden of Eden asking where Adam was, proved that Yahweh inhabited a physical body and was without universal knowledge, attributes wholly incompatible with the Heavenly Father professed by Jesus. According to Marcion, the god of the Old Testament, whom he called the Demiurge, the creator of the material universe, is a jealous tribal deity of the Jews, whose law represents legalistic reciprocal justice and who punishes mankind for its sins through suffering and death. In contrast, the God that Jesus professed is an altogether different being, a universal God of compassion and love who looks upon humanity with benevolence and mercy. Marcion also produced a book titled Antitheses, which is no longer extant, contrasting the Demiurge of the Old Testament with the Heavenly Father of the New Testament. Marcion held Jesus to be the son of the Heavenly Father but understood the incarnation in a docetic manner, i.e. that Jesus' body was only an imitation of a material body, and consequently denied Jesus' physical and bodily birth, death, and resurrection. Marcion was the first to codify a Christian canon. His canon consisted of only eleven books, grouped into two sections: the Evangelikon, a shorter version of the Gospel of Luke, and the Apostolikon, a selection of ten epistles of Paul the Apostle, which were also slightly shorter than the canonical text. Early Christians such as Irenaeus, Tertullian, and Epiphanius claimed that Marcion's editions of Luke and the Pauline epistles were intentionally edited by Marcion to match his theological views, and many modern scholars agree.[21] However, some scholars argue that Marcion's texts were not substantially edited by him, and may in some respects represent an earlier version of these texts than the canonical versions.[4][22][23][24] Like the Gospel of Mark, the gospel used by Marcion did not contain elements relating to Jesus' birth and childhood. Interestingly, it did contain some Jewish elements, and material that challenged Marcion's ditheism-a fact that was exploited by early Christians in their polemics against Marcion.[25] The centrality of the Pauline epistles in Marcion's canon reflects the fact that Marcion considered Paul to be the correct interpreter and transmitter of Jesus' teachings, in contrast to the Twelve Disciples and the early Jerusalem church.[5]

Rob, I’m working on a more thorough response to your video, but thought I would go ahead and address what appears to be a conundrum to the understanding of Hebrew Roots communities. Deuteronomy 14:21 SEEMS to indicate that Israelites were not allowed to eat clean animals that "dieth of itself" but the stranger was allowed to eat this, thus differentiating between Israelite and gentile: 21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the STRANGER THAT IS IN THY GATES, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God. First, note that whatever animal this refers to, it had to be clean to start with for the Israelite to even consider eating it. So, this would be true also for the STRANGER IN THE GATE. The term, STRANGER IN THE GATE (Hebrew, ger toshav), is a term designating a gentile who IS IN PROCESS to become an Israelite. They have not completed their instruction and have not been circumcised or immersed yet…thus they were not held to the same standard regarding food and possibly other regulations. I’m kinda surprised that you didn’t really do a thorough investigation of the Hebrew terminology underlying the English words, stranger, foreigner, alien, etc. There are several Hebrew terms (ger, maguwr, nokriy, zurw, toshab, and compound derivatives) for these English words and, as frequently happens, the English translation doesn’t do justice to the original thought. Thus, some strangers were to be "welcomed in" and others, "thrust through". Obviously then, there are “good” strangers and “bad” strangers. The “foreigner” (H5237, nokriy) of Dt 15:3 and Dt 23:20 is one who has no interest in joining Israel and worshiping God. Why would you extend financial privileges to someone who doesn’t want to join you and may, in fact, wish to do you harm? The ger toshav, on the other hand, was expected to continue on and BECOME an Israelite. Note the inclusiveness of the ger toshav in the following verse: 12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy STRANGER THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES, that they may HEAR, and that they may LEARN, and FEAR the LORD your God, and observe to DO ALL THE WORDS OF THIS LAW: (Dt 31:12) Shalom

Lol you assume uncircumcised gentiles can’t worship God, you assume they were in process once again that is a presupposition YOU must prove. @@JGez83 Jonathan, We meet again. Good to hear from you. There is debate even amongst Jews over the terms ger toshav and ger tzedek. But, I believe that you are absolutely correct and make my point to Mr Solberg for me. Obviously, for any of several reasons, the ger toshav didn’t have to complete his training and thus could remain in the “toshav” state and be a part of the general community…and thus, didn’t have to meet the requirement to avoid eating “road kill”. The ger tzedek, however, was a gentile who BECAME an ISRAELITE….the NT “proselyte” was most probably a ger tzedek based on the Greek for the word in the Septuagint. Judaism, today, applies different understandings about these terms depending on Orthodox, Conservative, Reformed, Karaite, etc. I’m not God and I do not judge other’s salvation. Naaman was physically blessed with healing, but was he ultimately saved? Scripture is silent about his salvation. Who knows? God knows the heart and IS merciful. But Scripture also states: 9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing (shama - hear and obey) the law (Torah), even his prayer shall be abomination. (Prov 28:9) The NT says the same thing, though it takes two verses: 31 Now we know that God heareth not SINNERS: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and DOETH HIS WILL, him he heareth. (John 9:31) What is SIN? 4 Whosoever committeth SIN transgresseth also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW. (1 John 3:4) Again, God IS merciful and I will not presume to judge who He hears and who He doesn’t hear. I’m just presenting you with the Scripture. I thank you for allowing me to address others with the Hebrew Roots understanding. Let others decide for themselves which arguments are legitimate and which are not. I am just being a witness to what I believe. Shalom

@TheBiblicalRoots
@TheBiblicalRoots Год назад
Hi, Jo! The problem with that theory is that it is not supported anywhere in the Bible. We don't see Gentiles entering the synagogue to learn the law, and nowhere in the NT does it tell us that Gentile followers of Jesus ever did (or should) learn the law or begin living by it. In fact, in the early church, Gentile believers in Jesus weren't welcome in the synagogues. History shows us that believers in Jesus were pushed out of the synagogues by the Jewish rabbis. They instituted _Birkat HaMinim,_ a benediction against heretics that made even Jewish believers in Jesus so uncomfortable they stopped attending. There is a far stronger and more biblical reason that those four restrictions were given. Here’s a video I made on that specific verse: *Acts 15:21, Hebrew Roots, and the key to the Jerusalem Council* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e7q892CiklY.html Blessings, Rob

Thank you for the thought on the topic, as there are definitely things to think on. My two questions are this: 1. Is there not a difference between Gentiles that worship God and those who don't, and with several of your examples couldn't that be pointed to as more the difference that is referred to? 2. With God being the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow..., when God gave the law it was good and and as Paul points out I believe in Romans 7 that law is how we are able to distinguish good from evil. Why would a true believer who studies the word and seeks to follow what God calls good not wish to (out of the desire of their heart) follow the law? Like paul point to in the end of Romans 3 we are to uphold the law out of faith. Wouldn't it be maybe more correct to look at the Jerusalem council like you talked about as addressing young believers in the faith that are still growing in their understanding, and instead of the disciples forcing the believers to do certain actions against their own heart's desire it was rather their way to foster the faith and allow God to change their hearts so they chose to live differently as they grow?

If you truthfully read my post and search the Scriptures, you will see that God was clear when he first spoke. I do not post to get likes or to forward a heart to someone, I just put it on the table. You will have to discuss it with God if what was posted is what he made clear when he first spoke. As previously stated, God chose Israel to be his people, not the Gentiles. The great nation that God promised Abraham came into existence from the seed of Jacob. So, God sanctified a nation from a seed, not from the nations that existed, which is why he told them to sanctify themselves and to be holy, for he is the God who sanctified them. It is clear from Leviticus 20 that, being their God, he separated them from other people. He told them to make a difference between clean and unclean beasts and unclean fowls, and to not make their souls abominable, and that he had separated the unclean from them, which is safe to say that God separates the unclean even from those Gentile who believe. It is clear from this chapter that God became God to a people whom he sanctified and separated the unclean beasts and unclean fowls from them. So it is safe to say that through this passage, when God sanctifies, he separates the unclean from those whom he sanctifies. Did God sanctify you? If he did, did he separate the unclean from you? Let me make this clear, I am implying the other nations as Gentile nations. I know that the Apostle Paul said the following: Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith, but this is pertaining to salvation, but when one comes to Yeshua, the God of Israel becomes their God. But the question is, when God gave the law at Mount Sinai, was it given to the Gentiles as well? The answer is no, but does that exempt the Gentile believers from dismissing God's law because it was not given to them but to Israel? Why don't you read the beginning of Leviticus 20? The LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, "Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, whosoever he be of the children of Israel or of the stranger (not believers) that sojourns in Israel, that giveth any of the seed unto Molech, he shall surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones." It is clear from this verse that even the curse of the law came upon the strangers to whom the law was not given. God brought Israel forth. The nation of Israel came into existence from a seed, and God separated them from other nations and he became their God, which is why he is still the God of Israel. According to the Scriptures, God is not the God of any Gentile nation; he is the God of Israel. He only chose Israel to be his people and to be their God. When Gentiles accept the atonement of Israel, they become part of the commonwealth of Israel, which is why they can say that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is their God, and that their God is the God of Israel. It is sad that many Gentile believers have been taught to dismiss this truth of God's word, through replacement theology and pull out of context grafted in Yeshua to support what they teach, that the law of God is not required to observe. By the way, if you discuss the law with rabbi tovia singer he will probably tell you that the law does not apply to the Gentiles, and in my opinion, he probably does not want the Gentiles to be part of it.

Thank you Rob! As always, an excellent job! I have two questions that maybe you can help me with: 1. I’ve taken 3 separate DNA tests and all show Ashkenazi roots, the highest being only 6%… my question: Am I considered Jewish and therefore required to keep Torah guidelines and instructions? I know it sounds like a very silly question, but who/ what draws the line to who is Jewish? I know you’re still digging into this area of Messianic Jews and Torah for clearer understanding so this question may be premature 2. What do you tell someone who says we are obligated to keep the Torah guidelines because we are now grafted in to Israel ( Romans 11)? As always, thank you for all your research and your channel. You have truly blessed me with understanding. Shalom 🕊

The promise was given to Abraham... Not Moses. If you are in Christ... Obeying what he taught and he did not teach Moses... then you are a joint heir with Christ into the promise. The promise of the earth... The meek will inherit the earth (Matt 5). The hope of the believer is the kingdom of God that Jesus taught about. It is and earthly kingdom in which believers will sit on Jesus throne in the new Jerusalem and rule the earth with our brother Jesus. This is the gospel.... Most Christians don't know.

rob, let's go with Acts 15 and talk about circumcision. It was a covenant that God made with Abraham, and this covenant would be carried out through generations, and this covenant was made prior to Mount Sinai. You quoted Acts 15;28:29, For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things: abstain from meats offered to idols, blood, strangled things, and fornication; from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Rob, in a past post discussing the clean and unclean, I asked you a question: is it okay to eat blood sausages? From your own writings, you said yes, and here you are making it appear that you do not eat blood. Let me ask you again, is it okay to eat blood sausage according to Acts 15? If no, then you need to go back and remove the statement you made, unless you already removed it and said nothing about it. You have no understanding as to why they said except to abstain from four things, and God did not say that. The term that was used was, "it seemed good to the Holy Ghost." Do you know why the word "seem" was used? The brief statement you made at the end of the video is ridiculous. Is that what you said (referring to Yeshua's body), that Jews would keep the law to maintain their identity (or something to that effect), but Gentile believers do not have to keep the law? If that is what you are saying, you are taking two sides to attract people to you. It appears that you are putting yourself in a high place to be looked upon.

Early Church Fathers such as Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, and Tertullian denounced Marcion as a heretic, and he was excommunicated by the church of Rome around 144.[7] He published the first known canon of Christian sacred scriptures,[2][8][9] which contained ten Pauline epistles (the Pastoral epistles were not included) and the Gospel of Marcion which is a shorter version of the Gospel of Luke.[2][10] This made him a catalyst in the process of the development of the New Testament canon by forcing the proto-orthodox Church to respond to his canon.[2][11]

Galatians 3:29 if you are Christ’s then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise. Through Christ we as believers are adopted into the family of israel. Isa 56:3 let not the foreigner (you and me) who has joined himself to the Lord say, “The Lord will surely separate me from his people.” Also, Isa 56:6-8 “And foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the sabbath and does not profane it (by working), and holds fast to my covenant, I will bring these to my holy mountain, to make them joyful in my house of prayer, their burnt offerings will be accepted on my altar, for my house shall be a house of prayer for all peoples.” I don’t really care about what the orthodox say. I care about what the word of God says. We have Ruth, And, Caleb and all the mixed multitude (exod 12:38) who came out of Egypt and did the passover. When we do the passover we shall be as native born (exod 12:48). Those mixed multitude if they didn’t observe the passover in Egypt did so in the wilderness the second year. No longer considered gentiles or the mixed multitude but part of israel. Paul even says let us keep the feast, speaking if passover unleavened bread. Caleb kenizzite was sent in as one a spy as the head of the tribe of Judah. A kenizzite not a Jew.

Another point to stress would be the connection between the Torah and the land. The Torah is God's requirement for the land. The land is Holy - (Zechariah 2:12) Because the land is Holy, it is subject to becoming defiled and polluted in the same manner as the Temple and Holy objects. (Leviticus 18:25; Deut 21:22,23; Deut 24:1-4;Jeremiah 2:7; Jeremiah 3:2; Jeremiah 3:9; Jeremiah 16:18; Ezekiel 36:18) The Torah is comprised of “Mishpat” (Civil law) and “Chukkot” (Ceremonial law). Both are required for residence on the land. (Deut 4:1; Deut 4:5; Deut 4:14; Deut 5:31; Deut 6:1) This is because the Torah serves to make Israel “Holy” for the possession of the Holy land. ( Exodus 22:3; Leviticus 11:41-45; Leviticus 19:2,37; Leviticus 20:25,26; Leviticus 20:8; Numbers 15:40) Shema: Deuteronomy 11:13-21 - rain, grain, wine and oil as a reward for obedience to the Torah. No rain, no produce, and exile as a consequence of disobeying the Torah. Leviticus 26:1-9 Blessings as a result of Torah observance are specific to the land, and to the Nation of Israel. 26:14-29 - curses for disobedience to the Torah are specific to the land, and to the Nation of Israel. The ultimate consequence is exile from the land (Deuteronomy 11:33-39). Deuteronomy 28:1-12 Blessings as a result of Torah observance are specific to the land, and to the Nation of Israel. Deuteronomy 28:15-68 Curses for disobedience to the Torah are specific to the land, and to the Nation of Israel. The ultimate consequence is exile from the land (Deuteronomy 28:64-68) Since obedience to the Torah is tied to residence on the land, expansion of territory is granted when Israel is obedient (Deuteronomy 19:8-10) and land is taken away when Israel is disobedient (2 Kings 10:31-32). The laws of clean/unclean are connected to the Temple in the land. To fail to to treat impurity by washing will “defile” the Temple (Leviticus 15:31) If an Israelite fails to treat impurity due to contact with a corpse, it will “defile” the Temple (Numbers 19:13, Numbers 19:20) Unless the gentile wishes to have the inheritance of the land, Torah and circumcision are not required. The Jew does have the inheritance of the land. Therefore, the Jews should observe the Torah for the sake of their inheritance, and for the sake of preserving Jewish identity. I applaud your willingness to remain open and flexible on the topic.

@Stephen yes and their remains a rest...“So there remains a Sabbath-keeping for the people of Elohim. Let us therefore do our utmost to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.” ‭‭Hebrews 4:9, 11‬ “And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth, for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down OUT of the heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of Elohim is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim.” ‭‭Revelation21:1-3‬ ‭ It’s always been about Him trying to dwell with us since the beginning yet we continue to mess it up. In the end he corrects it and makes a new earth for us, Him and Messiah to live together. ““Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.” ‭‭Revelation 22:14‬ ‭

@Stephen I would say we have peace in Him but not the rest like the rest that remains. We still have to work and pay for everything in our life. Whereas when we receive an inheritance and our rewards we will have entered into His perfect rest. I would say that we’re still waiting because of the attributes in the promises of the renewed covenant haven’t been enacted yet. Ie:““And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.”” ‭‭Jeremiah 31:34‬ And also He hasn’t done this yet: ““And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away.”” ‭‭Revelation 21:4‬ ‭

@@ForgedinTruth Hello Eagle. Yes Ezekiel 47 is a Messianic prophecy regarding the partition of the land during the Messianic age. There are two terms for the gentile: the "Toshav" and the "Ger". A Toshav is referring to the temporary gentile resident living among Israel. The "Ger" is a convert to Judaism. According to Ezekiel 47 verse 22, not only will the land be divided among the tribes, but land is also granted to the "Gerim" - the gentile converts to Judaism, that have intermarried with Israel.

Judah, a son of Jacob, married a Canaanite (gentile) woman, Joseph in Egypt married a gentile Egyptian, Moses married Ziporah( a gentile), Jethro, father-in -law of Moses was a gentile but all of them embraced the faith and belonged to the House of Israel. Caleb was a gentile from Kennizite tribe (Numbers 32:12) became a head tribe or prince/representative of the tribe of Judah (Numbers 13:3-6) and lead the Sons of Israel along with Joshua into Canaan. Caleb was a converted gentile who became a believer in YHVH and was grafted into the tribe of Judah as head tribe or prince. Rob, Nice try, but I’m just not buying it. I ended up covering a lot of this in previous responses to this video but will repeat it here for completeness of thought. Of course the Jews in authority are going to say gentiles need not pursue Torah. And, of course, their Christian counterparts are going to say the same. Both groups are happy to maintain their little hegemons….sort of a “gentleman’s agreement”. For Jews to admit Yeshua is Messiah and for Christians to admit Torah is the standard we should live by is anathema to both since that would undermine their authority and collapse their little empires. But, according to Scripture, we are supposed to be “echad”…ONE. Question: What happened to the “mixed multitude” that left Egypt? Were they not absorbed into Israel becoming indistinguishable over time? What about Caleb, the Kennezite, who represented the tribe of Judah among the spies? Was he not fully grafted into Israel? 24 But my servant Caleb, because he had ANOTHER SPIRIT with him, and hath FOLLOWED ME FULLY, HIM will I BRING INTO THE LAND whereinto he went; and HIS SEED SHALL POSSESS IT. (Num 14:24) Caleb had demonstrable faith in God and was rewarded by being grafted into Israel and given a possession in the Land. 14 Hebron therefore became the INHERITANCE of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he WHOLLY FOLLOWED THE LORD God of Israel. (Josh 14:14) WHOLLY FOLLOWED THE LORD as a grafted in gentile means he kept the Commandments of God, Torah…he BECAME an Israelite. What about Ruth? Wasn’t she, a Moabitess, grafted into Israel and became the progenitor of Messiah Yeshua??? 16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: THY PEOPLE SHALL BE MY PEOPLE, AND THY GOD MY GOD: (Ruth 1:16) Doesn’t this mean she, a gentile by birth, was grafted into Israel? How could she be grafted into Israel and not pursue Torah? Obviously, the intent was for all peoples and nations to eventually become Torah pursuant: 1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the STRANGERS SHALL BE JOINED WITH THEM, and THEY SHALL CLEAVE TO THE HOUSE OF JACOB. (Is 14:1) …and… 1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. 2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the SABBATH from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. 3 Neither let the SON OF THE STRANGER, that hath JOINED HIMSELF TO THE LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from HIS PEOPLE: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my SABBATHS (plural), and choose the things that please me, and TAKE HOLD OF MY COVENANT; 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I WILL GIVE THEM AN EVERLASTING NAME, THAT SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF. 6 Also the SONS OF THE STRANGER, that JOIN THEMSELVES TO THE LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the SABBATH from polluting it, and TAKETH HOLD OF MY COVENANT; 7 Even THEM will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: THEIR BURNT OFFERINGS and THEIR SACRIFICES shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE. 8 The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet WILL I GATHER OTHERS to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. (Is 56:1-8) All these are examples of gentiles being grafted into Israel, past and future…so, what about the present??? You mention Exodus 19…that this passage is exclusive to Israel…and so, it is: 5 Now therefore, if ye will OBEY MY VOICE (like Abraham, Gen 26:5) indeed, and KEEP MY COVENANT, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a KINGDOM OF PRIESTS, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. (Ex 19:5,6) But where else have we seen similar words? 4 John to the SEVEN CHURCHES which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us KINGS AND PRIESTS unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (Rev 1:4-6) So, either you believe in Replacement Theology or the people referred to in Revelation 1 have been GRAFTED INTO ISRAEL. This is the subject matter covered in Romans 11 and Ephesians 2. I’m ready to go there if you wish. OK…I’m going to go out on a limb here and pitch a THEORY…and I’m sure there are those (Jonathan) itching to cut it off…so be it! Understand, God’s name for His people, JEW AND GENTILE TOGETHER, is…ISRAEL. What does ISRAEL mean? Most people who have studied this will tell you that the name, ISRAEL, means Prince with God or Prince of God…that is YI-SAR-EL…where SAR is Hebrew for prince as in SAR SHALOM, Prince of Peace. But, if you listen closely to a Sephardic Jew pronounce this name, you will hear, YI-SaRA-ALE, because they roll the “resh” (or “R” in English). So, it’s not SAR…prince…but SARA(H)… ”princess”…Bride of Christ??? Jumping beyond the Millennial Reign (Ez 43 - 48), where all the OT laws and sacrifices will be reinstituted, to the New Jerusalem (Rev 21, 22)…notice that entrance to the city is gained through 12 gates named for the 12 tribes of ISRAEL…in other words, you come in as an (ahem!) ISRAELITE. 12 And had a wall great and high, and had TWELVE GATES, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the TWELVE TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL: (Rev 21:12) Notice too, that those who are allowed to enter are the ones who keep His Commandments (Torah). 14 Blessed are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. (Rev 22:14) So, if YI-SaRA-ALE (JEW AND GENTILE) are betrothed to Messiah Yeshua (God) and the Commandments of God (Torah) are the marriage contract (Ketubah)… [32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an HUSBAND unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the COVENANT that I WILL MAKE with the house of ISRAEL; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my LAW (Torah) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Jer 31:32,33)] …who, then, is the harlot of Revelation 17, recalling that a harlot is a false wife? Who claims to know Jesus but refuses to keep the Ketubah / Commandments of God (Torah)? Again, this is only a THEORY…but I think it’s at least worthy of consideration. Shalom

Lol YOU won’t enter New Jerusalem because the foundations of it are the twelve apostles therefore only they will be in it because YOU are not one of the twelve apostles, because if only being literally a part of one of the twelve tribes can get you in one of the twelve gates, because the gates are named for the literal twelve tribes then following your heretical erroneous interpretation to its logical conclusion means only the literal twelve apostles will literally be in New Jerusalem because the foundations of New Jerusalem are literally named after the twelve apostles and therefore only the literal apostles can be in the city.

Henry, this is a heart issue. People do not love God enough to do what He has said. Matthew 15:12-14 [12]Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? "Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)- remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility" Ephesians 2:11-16 NIV I see your reasoning, but the scriptures teach that in the New Covenant there is neither Jew nor Greek, but "One new man" in Messiah, so Gentiles who are believers are not grafted into the Old Covenant Identity/Legal Code but the New Covenant Identity of Freedom in Christ/The Law of Christ.

dear professor Solberg, historically, especially in the US we see new religions made with the claim to be the actual people or arguing having the “real” connection to the roots of Judaism (eg Black Hebrew Israelites or Nation of Islam). These neo religions are sociological phenomenon that gives artificial roots to s group of people who feel they have none, either they are conscious of it or not. The other example is Spanish Romani people claiming to be the lost tribe. I believe Torahism is the same phenomenon of mostly US/UK white people who are ashamed of being white due to the increasingly hostile (deserved or not) US environment to classical WASPy (mostly dead) culture. They want to escape the hostily by Judaizing themselves. They can keep their Protestantism but claim to be “ethnic”. In other words, I believe it’s mostly sociological/psychological phenomenon, where most theological arguments are ex post a posteriori reasoning to fit the sociological needs on existing theological framework.

5). The division started when after Solomon died, kings came from the House of Israel and kings from the House of Judah. No longer was the term House of Jacob used but has now become houses of Israel and Judah. From then on, Israel was divided into 2 houses. Hebrews 8:8-12 quoting Jeremiah the prophet says, “ Behold the days are coming says Adonai, when I will inaugurate a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah...I will put My Torah(instructions)/Law into their mind and upon their hearts I will write it..” for whom is this prophecy then addressed to? The New Covenant with Jesus as the high and perfect priest forever and addressed to the House of Judah and House of Israel, where are the christians in the prophecy of Jeremiah? If the Sons of Israel and house of Judah in Exodus 19:3-6 is specific to the direct descendants of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, and solely referring to the the ethnic direct descendants of Jacob, where do the christians fit in this prophecy of the New and better Covenant? If christians now believe that the Houses of Israel and Judah refer to christians as well ignoring what the speaker Dr Soljerg says, and the ‘Torah(instructions)/Law will be written in the minds and hearts’ but then again the speaker believes that the mix multitude “did not have the full rights as the jews” but only to “universal laws” common to man (as God was giving the Torah in the Mount Sinai) because according to him “God had already put them in their hearts even before Moses wrote the laws as according to him “we are created in His image”)...so why did God promised to write His laws/Torah in the minds and hearts in the New Covenant spoken of by Jeremiah if even then His laws were already in the hearts of men? Or, why is it written now for the christians in the book of Hebrews if Dr. Soljerg believes that it’s already in our hearts? But then again, it says it is for the House of Judah and the House of Israel. Do you now see the huge problem the speaker created when he believes that the Sons of Israel in Exodus 19:3-6 only mean the direct descendants of Jacob. Even the last phrase in Exodus 19:6 said “these are the words which you are to speak to Sons of Israel”. Moses who wrote the book did not include house of Jacob like he did in verse 3.

If only it were so simple. Is it rational to think that every single Hebrew soul left Egypt and none stayed behind? Tradition argues that as many as 80% of the seed of Abraham stayed behind. Does the covenant automatically apply to Hebrews who were not at Sinai? The Covenant wasn’t forced upon a bloodline. It was an agreement. It is very likely that at least one soul of the mixed multitude was present at Sinai and agreed to the terms. The Torah isn’t as clear cut as it seems on first glance.

1). Genesis 32:25-30 says that Jacob’s name was changed to Israel because he “struggled with God and men (plural), and (he) prevailed...then He blessed him”. Genesis 42:5 “the sons of Israel went to Egypt to buy grain because the famine was in the land of Canaan”. Thus this was the beginning that the ethnic desecendant of the Jacob/Israel began their struggle with men so that the promise to Abraham in Genesis 17 “ father of multitude of nations (v4), make you into nations (v6), establish covenant between Him, Abraham and seed after him throughout generations (v 7), whole land of Canaan as everlasting posession (v8)” will all be accomplished. Then miraculously God blessed the Sons of Israel and those with the mixed multitude (appropriately describing the change of the name from Jacob to Israel bec he wrestled with God and MEN) who left with them by taking them out of Egypt forming the first ever “jew and gentile” ‘church’. Exodus 12:3-20 “tell the congregation of Israel (v3), the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter a lamb (v 6), eat unleavened bread, bitter herb (v8), the blood will be a sign and no plague among you to destroy you (v13), eat unleavened bread x 7 days and anyone earing keavened breag will be cut off (v15), cut off from the congregation of Israel whether the outsider or born in the land (19)”.

The lawkeeping obviously will not save you, but if you know in your heart that you should be keeping the commandments that God gave for all mankind through Israel (read the end of ecclesiastes, I dare you) and that doing so is a demonstration of your love and devotion, yet continue to make excuses to not do them, then thats a heart issue, and you should be questioning if you truly love him. Most of the laws are unapplicable outside of the land, and without a temple anyway. The point is keeping gods law out of love and devotion and seeking to become closer will not make you a slave to sin or the law again, Christ is our master and his blood is what saves us. But I think its fair to say he expects us to not remain ignorant forever. Is it too much of God to ask that we not remain stupid and unintentionally sin and ignore his teachings by making excuses? Now Im not going to judge anyone, thats for God l, who knows maybe it somehow in the end will be revealed that it was unnecessary. But I'd hate to bet the promises of life and goodness on that and be wrong.

@@Jeffmacaroni1542 Please deal with what I've stated instead of red herring Acts 15 according to the TO. 1But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2. And Paul and Barnabas replied,” we are teaching the Gentiles to observe the Torah and they will become circumcised to observe the Passover as required by the law.” 3. And the men from Judea replied, “ Oh, never mind, continue what you are teaching.” End of Acts 15 Oh but let’s not stop it there let’s end it a little bit later. 5. But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses.” 6. And the council in the elders replied,” Peter and the other apostles are already teaching the Gentiles to observe the law of Moses to keep the Passover as required to become circumcised.” 7. Then the believing Pharisees replied,” then we feel there is no longer need for this council and request these proceedings to be closed.” Alternate ending to Acts 15 according to TO interpretation Lol Romans 11 doesn’t read as YOU are trying to make it read, Paul doesn’t call the gentiles Israel verse 13. Rob, It has always been God’s desire to call forth a “people group” for “His Namesake”. Remember that, technically, Abraham was a gentile called out from Ur of the Chaldees. It should not be surprising then that He would accept gentiles into His “people group”, ISRAEL. The mixed multitude that left Egypt with the Israelites was absorbed into Israel…they were GRAFTED IN and lost their previous identity. It obvious that God’s intent is to bring ALL WHO ARE WILLING into His “people group”: 10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, 11 Your little ones, your wives, and THY STRANGER THAT IS IN THY CAMP, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: 12 That THOU (ALL) SHOULDEST ENTER INTO COVENANT WITH THE LORD THY GOD, and INTO HIS OATH, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day: 13 That he may establish (ALL) thee to day for a PEOPLE UNTO HIMSELF, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; 15 But with HIM (COLLECTIVELY) THAT STANDETH HERE WITH US THIS DAY before the Lord our God, and also with HIM THAT IS NOT HERE WITH US THIS DAY (FUTURE - THROUGHOUT ALL TIME): (Dt 29:10-15) It is still the same today…God is still calling out people to join His “people group”, ISRAEL. 13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, hearken unto me. 14 Simon hath declared how God at the first VISITED THE GENTILES TO TAKE OUT FROM THEM A PEOPLE FOR HIS NAME. 15 And to this agree the words of the Prophets, as it is written: 16 ‘After this I will return, and will BUILD AGAIN (Hebrew, chadash: rebuild, restore, RENEW) the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down. And I will BUILD AGAIN (chadash) the ruins thereof, and I will set it up, (see Ez 43 - 48 when all of the Torah will be kept, including animal sacrifices) 17 that the residue of men (after the GREAT TRIBULATION) might seek after the Lord, and all the GENTILES UPON WHOM MY NAME IS CALLED, saith the Lord who doeth all these things.’ (Acts 15:13-17) Further support for a RENEWED COVENANT 1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the STRANGERS SHALL BE JOINED WITH THEM, and THEY SHALL CLEAVE TO THE HOUSE OF JACOB. (Is 14:1) …THEY WILL BECOME ISRAELITES…it’s the same today. Shalom

Absolutely! I agree that God has always intended to save all people, including the Gentiles. That is part and parcel of the promise he made to Abraham that in him “all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Gen 12:3). But the question here is more specific: Was the _Sinai Covenant_ made with Israel alone, or with the Gentiles as well? As part of the plan of salvation that God put into effect (starting in Gen 3:15), He called Abraham (who was not a Jew) and from his lineage God supernaturally created the nation of Israel, the Jewish people. It started with the miracle of Sarah’s pregnancy, and continued through the miracles of the Exodus and at Mount Sinai. The Torah clearly divides the world into two groups: Israelites and non-Israelites (foreigners, strangers, sojourners). And it was only the Israelites who were called by God at Mount Sinai to be his people, his “holy nation.” Sure, the Gentiles were allowed into God’s ways and his worship. But they were not given full membership in Israel. And, as such, they were not expected to keep the Law of Moses. Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, and all other Gentiles were not expected to eat kosher, keep Shabbat, circumcise their men, or keep the annual feasts. And even the sojourner in Israel was not subject to the Mosaic Law in the same way the native Israelites were. For example, there was a different dietary standard. Yahweh commanded Israel, “You shall not eat anything that has died naturally. You may give it to the sojourner who is within your towns, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a people holy to the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 14:21). This is the Torah telling us in no uncertain terms that non-Jews are allowed to eat things that Jews are not. _The Gentiles can eat that stuff, but you, Israel, are a people holy (set apart) to the Lord._ Shalom, Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, Your words: Absolutely! I agree that God has always intended to save all people, including the Gentiles. That is part and parcel of the promise he made to Abraham that in him “all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Gen 12:3). My reply: Very interesting that you would choose Gen 12:3 - 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED. (Gen 12:3) ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED = ha’adamah mishpechot kol b’cha v’nivrechu The Ba’alei Tosafot (commentary on the Talmud) notes that the root word for v’nivrechu, nivechu, is a derivative of the Hebrew infinitive, mavrich, which means “grafting in”. So, another possible translation is: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE GRAFTED IN. (Gen 12:3) Hmmmm….and it’s repeated in Gen 28:14 Grafted into what? The Tosafists believed that the other nations would be joined to Israel…not Israel to the other nations. [See Messiah, Vol 2, Avi Ben Mordechai, pp 170, 171] Your words: The Torah clearly divides the world into two groups: Israelites and non-Israelites (foreigners, strangers, sojourners). And it was only the Israelites who were called by God at Mount Sinai to be his people, his “holy nation.” Sure, the Gentiles were allowed into God’s ways and his worship. But they were not given full membership in Israel. And, as such, they were not expected to keep the Law of Moses. My reply: Yes, God clearly establishes that there are two groups of people…those that belong to Him…and those that do NOT belong to Him. Most Bible versions do not distinguish between the various types of strangers / foreigners / sojourners. It is left to the reader to STUDY these terms since some of these were to be slain while others welcomed in. The GOOD strangers who wanted to join…be grafted into…Israel were accepted. The others were shunned. What don’t you understand about this Torah passage? 10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, 11 Your little ones, your wives, …”AND”… THY STRANGER THAT IS IN THY CAMP, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: [“AND” is a conjunction joining the STRANGER (the MIXED MULTITUDE) to ISRAEL…ALSO TO THE COVENANT God makes with His people ISRAEL.] 12 That THOU (ALL) SHOULDEST ENTER INTO COVENANT WITH THE LORD THY GOD, and INTO HIS OATH, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day: 13 That he may establish (ALL) thee to day for a PEOPLE UNTO HIMSELF, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14 Neither with YOU ONLY do I make this covenant and this oath; 15 But with HIM (COLLECTIVELY) THAT STANDETH HERE WITH US THIS DAY before the Lord our God, and ALSO with HIM THAT IS NOT HERE WITH US THIS DAY (FUTURE - THROUGHOUT ALL TIME): (Dt 29:10-15) It seems you have trouble with English? Your words: Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, and all other Gentiles were not expected to eat kosher, keep Shabbat, circumcise their men, or keep the annual feasts. And even the sojourner in Israel was not subject to the Mosaic Law in the same way the native Israelites were. For example, there was a different dietary standard. The Gentiles can eat that stuff, but you, Israel, are a people holy (set apart) to the Lord. Shalom, Rob My reply: Of course Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, and all other nations apart from Israel were not expected to follow the Commandments of God to Israel…most had no desire to follow the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This is not to say that some in the other nations were not saved. God holds us accountable for what He has shown us…let God be the judge…but WE DO NOT have that excuse. We have the complete Word of God…to whom much is given, much is required. Your example of Dt 14:21 falls flat because the very same relaxing of the Law was granted to the Israelite. 21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates (GER TOSHAV, the good stranger), that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an ALIEN (NOKRIY, the bad stranger): for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. (Dt 14:21) First, the only animal that an Israelite would consider eating would have to be CLEAN per Lev 11. So we are discussing clean animals that die of themselves. Note the following verse: 15 And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be ONE OF YOUR OWN COUNTRY, or a STRANGER (GER), he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean. (Lev 17:15) So, there is really no distinction between the Israelite and the good stranger…the good stranger is being welcomed into Israel. 12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, …AND…THY STRANGER THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES (GER TOSHV, the good stranger again), that they may HEAR, and that they may LEARN, and FEAR the LORD your God, and observe to DO ALL THE WORDS OF THIS LAW: (Dt 31:12) So says the Torah. Marcion of Sinope (/ˈmɑːrʃən, -ʃiən, -siən/; Ancient Greek: Μαρκίων[1][note 1] Σινώπης; c. 85 - c. 160) was an early Christian theologian[2] in early Christianity.[2][3] Marcion preached that God had sent Jesus Christ who was an entirely new, alien god, distinct from the vengeful God of Israel who had created the world.[2][3][4] He considered himself a follower of Paul the Apostle, whom he believed to have been the only true apostle of Jesus Christ, a doctrine called Marcionism.[2][3][5] Marcion published the earliest extant fixed collection of New Testament books.[2][6]

Gentiles=Unsaved....... The Hebrew word תּוֹרָה "Torah" is defined in English as "direction", "instruction", and most commonly translated in the Bible as "Law". • Many sects of Judaism teach that the Torah is only representative of the first 5 books of Moses. However, God's Laws are recorded and expounded upon throughout many books of scripture (including the New Testament). • Some Laws are only for priests, others for kings, some are just for women, farmers, lepers, etc. But all the Laws of God are His own ways, behavior, and character. (Psa. 119:1-3) And all of His Laws are eternal (Psa. 119:160) If you're a believer, you are keeping many Torah commandments every waking moment. 🙂 • Ecclesiastes 12:13 says "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
