#Infiniti #Q50 #G37 What's up guys? In this video I discuss if the Infiniti Q50 3.7L is a fast car or not. I do a series of pulls and little tests, and get some good POV footage in. Thanks for the watch and please SUBSCRIBE!
I agree with you man. These are not rocket ships, but they do perform well. Hard to get better performance and looks for what these cost on the preowned market.
The 3.7 sounds so good better than the new turbos. Oh and reason why people are hesitant of Q50 is due to people like motortrend etc and all they do is bash Infiniti b.c they are new kid on blovk.and rival other luxury brands.
Infinti is a failing brand ,they won’t be around much longer. They should be dead by 2030 if Nissan doesn’t handle they’re crap right. And I have the 3.0t ,they need to have better handling ,too much power for rwd when you’re fish tailing all over the place ,also the body style is old.
From what I've heard from the q50 community, 3.7s sound better and have better top end power than the 3.0. The 3.0 are a bit quicker out the gate and can be ECU tuned for much more power. Problem with turbos are, they die, eventually. The 3.7 will be less maintenance. Hence, i opted for the 3.7
Absolutely, agree with your assessment, The thing I absolutely love about the Infiniti G35 and Q50 Platform is the balance they achieved with Driving dynamics handling the power and comfort. I really has it all. I remember owning my G35 after work my drive home was therapeutic and those exhaust note on startup makes you happy and smile everytime
loved my awd 08 g35x sedan in highschool , was very aggressive and fun extremely reliable. same with the 09 g37s x sedan. love my limited 15’ q50 but been very unreliable. sounds good though. pretty sweet car. pretty damn quick up top for a n/a v6. it’s a 3.7.
As a owner of a 2014 Q50 AWD i love my car yes it is fast believe me in AWD it shoots like a rocket. It is fast enough for me . Change the springs to handle better . Sleeper big time. Lots in Brampton Ontario lately.
I love my q50 but man I'm seriously considering the q60. Not only is it a hidden gem but it looks amazing. The best looking from the infinity line up in my opinion. (I'm talking about the 2 door coupe Q60 not the Q×60 which is a suv)
I love that 3.7 engine. Your exhaust sounds good! In the near future you should really think about upgrading that’s to a motordyne so you can really hear that VQ Roar! Yeah I know it’s kind of a hard pill to swallow for the price but trust me it’s definitely worth it. I have it paired with Motordyne HFCs and a stillen gen 3. It sounds amazing! Great video bro!!! Keep up the vids!!!
Picked up my 2015 Q50 Sport in March of 2019 and I love it. For a first car, I was looking for the reliability of the VQ37 rather than the (easier to get more power out of) VR30 that the 2016 and newer models have. Super fun to drive. Just challenging to fit more than 2 golf bags in the trunk.
I’m looking rn to get a Q50 3.7 premium awd. Got any tips? I keep hearing things about the wire-steering that’s not that good. Just wanted some input. Would appreciate it.
@@shooter1598 If you have the ability to, check the undercarriage of the cars. Just to make sure nothing on the bottom has rusted. 3.7L definitely the way to go if you're looking for reliability over modification. I never got to test drive a model that had the "steer-by-wire" add on. The reviews I've seen kept saying it just takes the physical feel out of the steering wheel (just can't feel the bumps in the road from the wheel as much because its no longer a physical connection between the wheel and road) I believe the steer-by-wire is a "premium" feature so it may end up adding unnecessary $$$ to the price tag.
@@irishish12 thanks this helped so much honestly, I’m trying to stay under 16k so I’m that price range, they’re all at 90k miles. Is that too much for an Infiniti or should I be fine getting a 2014-15 Q50 with 90k miles on it?
As much as I like the Q50 I personally would Choose the Maxima mainly because of it's Jet-inspired design, I love the 3.5 but I know people aren't a fan of the cvt but it does pretty well at high speeds.
I have a 2015 Qx50 and it's an amazing ride. It has the 3.7 and awd on the J50 chassis and pulls pretty good, so much potential for this platform. Can't wait till I've upgraded mine more, so far have custom catback and high flow intakes.
Looking into a 2014 model with the 3.7 engine and it looks amazing. Sound good for a doordash worker? The deal I found is great and I'm assuming they're very comfortable
@@natty1 They're great ride comfortable but it does have stiffer suspension which does complement the cars handling and good stock power. But can be a little heavy on fuel if your having some spirited fun with it. Not a single regret buying my Qx50.
I am not saying that I did this but a guy I know went head to head with a new camaro SS with his q50 RS400 and they both were neck to neck the whole time. the Q50 was stock, no idea about the SS.
@247 Hustla Not to sure about that. The race I saw was a freeway run at about 50 mph to 120 ish. Camaro SS is 445 HP and RS400 is 400 HP AWD. Weight is about the same.
I have also done some 0-60 tests. They were stock and were done at the same location, similar weather and T/C on. Good luck!!! 2007 G35S (100K miles, almost empty gas tank) : 5.07 2010 M35X(35K miles, almost empty gas tank) : 5.85 2014 Q50 3.7 (5K miles, 3/4 gas tank) : 5.5 2018 Q60 3.0t 300hp (5K miles, 3/4 gas tank) : 5.25 2017 GSF (5K miles, almost empty gas tank) : 4.93 2018 M4 competition (25K miles, 4/5 gas tank) : 5.0 PS: I think Nissans are fast 0-60 but after 60 my GSF should be a bit faster...
Yes, they are. Mine is getting tune on E85 in a couple weeks. I have AFE DryFlow, Berk HFC, Invidia Gemini CBE, upgraded fuel pump, soon to add GTR injectors (unsure about CC range). Not sure how many whp n' wtp will add, but I'm assuming around 330 to 350? Yes, I am RWD. Hopefully then I could beat my friend's WRX STI; currently at 380-400 whp 😂.
I drive a 2012 Audi A7 supercharged 4 wheel drive with 330 horses and the 2014 Q50 3.7 I just test drove today still felt fast, it caught me off guard in sport mode, I did a left turn from a stoplight to get on the entrance to a highway and it burned rubber and skirted off real quick. I’m used to my a7 just accelerating super fast without burning rubber cause the 4 wheel drive. But honestly the Q50 feels just as fast, I mean it’s a little slower on takeoff probably but not much at all and my A7 would beat it in a race especially a longer race where the supercharger would help it. Long story short Q50 3.7 is fast
Look into the q50 and the q60 coupe. Imo the q60 coupe is the best looking out of the infinity line. I have a q50 but I wish I took a closer look at the q60 cause that things beautiful.
Got a tuned 06 g35 AWD and it is alot of fun. Its lighter weight than the q50. The govener kicks in preventing it from exceeding 130 mph but it gets up there very nice. Once tuned you'll get more rpm range too. Get it tuned for 93 octane. Even with all the work I've done, still haven't paid nearly as much as it would cost for a stock Q50. As long as it's got the vqhr motor your gonna be getting raw natural hp that is unrivaled without the use of forced induction. That's why I like Nissan. The most affordable power you can find. once you DO slap that force on there..buh bye...drive straight to the moon!
The transmission in these are pretty bulletproof. I have a 2010 g37 sedan with the 7spd and I track it (drag & race course - check my channel) and I drive the car pretty car on a daily basis. The car now has 120,000miles on it and the transmission still shifts like new, even the downshifts are still very nice. Although I change my trans fluid every 30k miles
They are fun and better than average! Picked a 14 with 80k miles for 13k in 2019. It has a bulletproof engine...just spent some decent money on tires and damn does my car perform so much better
@@oneidaclintron6872 bumblefk Kansas lol. It was sitting on the lot for 300+days. Minor fender bender on the bottom right corner of the front bumper so no1 wanted it because they didn’t bother to repair. I picked it up. And have been happy since!
I owned a G37 and now a q50 3.7. It’s literally the same car just dressed in better clothing. But the G37 feels more sporty and lighter in my opinion. Only problem with the G37 is that it’s starting to look pretty old now..
I got the 2015 q50 3.7 awd with the factory 19s. Got the axleback helmholtz pipes. Hague blue. I LOVE this car. All my friends love it. Its quick as stink, too!
do you have an exhaust ? or is that just the cold air intake contributing to the noise ? sounds really good. k&n does a great job and producing great sound on the cars i’ve owned. bought mine cause 328 out of a n/a v6 - hard to find that. tow capacity and awd and it was a limited trim. love the steering assistance on the highway and it corners like a dream
Slotted and drilled rotors don’t help you break faster lmao that’s all in your mind they help cool the rotors down after hard breaking switching pads and calipers is what give you big breaking performance
I tell you something I tell all my car boys I never seen anything take off faster than this q50 one day I was stuck and this got in the q50 offered me help but there was nothing he can do
Cars were beeping the hell out of him that shit too off like a bitch I'm pretty sure it was modded tho but I never seen some thing move so fast and I live in nyc FROM a digg that shit was ghost
looking at used cars you won't find many 4 door sedans that come close to the q50 in speed around its price range....reliability and power is important ...335i terrible had a friend who had 2 and both were in the shop monthly....Audi S4 is a monster but once again turbo cars break its just something about a direct injection vehicle ...they last I have 97k miles on my q50 nothing but brakes and oil changes....plus 3.7 engines been around a long time....only thing I'd really go for other than a q50 is a is350 cause Lexus are my next favorite and even that only has 306 hp ...
Just sold my 09 c63 amg yesterday, and just a q50 today, it's more reliable, I loved my amg, but to much money to maintain it, got my money 💰 worth out of it, needs a lot of work, don't have the money or time
@@kevindavis35 I understand brother, They are nice and reliable but the cost of general maintenance is high .. Useables like tires brakes and 9.4 QT of engine oil add up over time .but still a blast and reliable cars that will not breakdown on the road
Transmission shifting is laggy in normal mode, especially first and second gear. In addition, gas mileage is not very good. I average 20 mi/gallon summer. Cold temperature is even worse.
You're definitely right about that. Haha I just made this video because most people I run into think they can walk my car in their civic ex or v6 muscle car lol

I own 3.7awd & have had 3.0t awd loaner from delearship for past couple days & can tell you yes 3.0T is at least 4 seconds faster than 3.7 in 0 to 60. 3.0T factory engine in q50 is able to do 0 to 60 at exact 5 seconds or 4.9.if u get lucky
Also, if you have a stock exhaust you'll hear a nice rumble from a CAI on full throttle. With an exhaust though you probably won't be able to hear any sound difference.
