Thanks for the video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for showing us the switching over of the self steer globe and screen. Nice that the Deere tractors are all set up for that. You had the combine all setup in no time. Nice work Kip. Really like the self steer technology you pushed for and learned how to switch it around from tractor to tractor. Nice going Kip. Busy time for everyone right now. Lots of different operations going on at one time. Takes a bit to keep it all going. You all are working it together. Lonnie is really doing a good job of cleaning equipment and getting it ready for winter storage. You have a good man there working into the operation. That is what it takes. About it I guess Kip. You take care and be safe. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I absolutely love your videos. You do so much and it’s just absolutely awesome. Thanks for another video. Thanks Kip keep them coming. I know it must be hard, but I believe people that watch your videos. Absolutely love them.
It seems to me Lonnie is the rock on the farm maybe someday he can take over someday he seems to know a lot. I like seeing him working he’s a hard worker for a young man
As for brand, it might be personal preference. Each of the main companies have some fairly good models and some models that are less desirable for tractors. I'm not sure about your local John Deere dealer, but the dealers in our general area usually have some type of "filter sale" sometime during the year. It's basically where you can get a discount on all of the filters, whether it's engine oil, fuel, hydraulic, or the air filters. If your dealer is nice, they'll print off a hard copy of your John Deere equipment models with the filter (part) numbers on the pages, just so when you need to reorder, you can write down the part numbers and how many of each that you need. If a seed tender is in the plans, I might suggest one with a scale and hydraulics. Our first one didnt have a scale, fixed height, manual swing, and manual open and close for each hopper. Then my dad was to the point that he wanted a remote to help swing the conveyor or raise/lower it. A frequent question was, how much is left in it, without a scale, it can be tough to tell. As for bumper hitch or gooseneck hitch, probably personal preference. Yes, they will work for hauling ground feed from the farm to the creep feeder if you have calves out on pasture, you may need a rod or piece of rebar to help poke it down depending on how far of drive it is. Having a drill that doesn't fold for road transport, I know how fun those are. Then is the reason why I bought the box drill that i did, but a couple of my fields are over 25 miles from the house, so we see some road time.
When did you film this?? We didn't get that kind of rain in my area of Wisconsin in at least a month and a half. Be safe this harvest! Hope the overall yield is really good. Heck I don't know which tractor is the best...., I think whichever one that's doing the job the best is best.
How many acres do you farm? How many are rented? There’s a RU-vidr called Cole the cornstar and rents 3/4 of the land they farm - so much rent a year 🙃
JD was great, but they are going woke with their company policy just like the company I work for. I could say more but I leave it at that. Keep up the Great work.
