@@wilsonarroyo3126 Kung tinapos niyo po yung video, you'll see that the content was very fair. While the video started out negative, a lot of nice things were said about the Koreans afterwards. There's a lesson to be learned for both parties involved. The reason we made the video is simple. We wanted to provide an avenue for fair discussion and insight, and I think we were able to do that. ☺

I just watched a 'fake' SB19 Reactor get called out for being fake. Once he got revealed, his true colors came out, and he started blasting the very group he so called enjoyed Reacting to. He made some horrible racial comments about not only SB19 but the filipino people and the Philippines as well.😱 Cashual Chuck livestreamed this Reactor cursing and swearing all over the place. Shame. And Chuck really tried giving the guy a chance, too, to no avail. 😔 And this 'fake' Reactor is not Asian. 😑

As a Korean Canadian I was very upset watching that video from Tzuyyang because my besties are Filipinos. I told this incident to my dad and he wasnt very happy to hear once again Korean people mocking / thinking SouthEast Asian people are "Lower" than they are. There are older/newer generations who doesnt think like that. Please know that not everyone thinks like that and treats like that. My dad said "Most Koreans have forgotten the reason why we are able to live a peaceful life is because of those soldiers coming to the strange place fighting for freedom for strange people and helping those people to win the war. We cannot act like that to the ones who helped us when we were poor. We cannot forget our history because once you forget your history its going to repeat again and again because we humans make the same mistakes over and over." I know that my apologies dont mean anything but I am really sorry and I wish people arent like that in Korea. I mean... Koreans do that one another. Just because you're different or you are korean canadian they treat like an outsider. I wish things were different hopefully things will change 🍀

El.. For example, Kapag ginagamit mo ang Indian accent para i-portray ang isang scammer, Racism yun..mimicking the accent alone is not racist , many people mimicks british accent or italian or french accent.. As a matter of fact, yung latest move nila na magpapasok ng mga domestic helpers exclusively for filipinos, alam mo bang nakakainsulto yun?

All I did was ask "Don't Filipinos also mock or imitate the Korean accent?" Sa apat na babae ko lang po 'yon tinanong kasi in the full uncut interview, palagi nilang na-memention yung pag-mock ng Filipino accent ng Koreans (and last interviewees sila that day) so it was a natural response from me, and it was unplanned as well. If we base it on the definition, yung act na pag-gaya tapos the fact na alam natin tinatawanan siya is also "mocking" kahit walang racism involved. As mentioned in the video as well, the Korean cosplayer was definitely racist, and it's the fault of the Mukbanger for bringing her on her RU-vid channel. I quite agree to an extent na masyadong negative yung portrayal ng media nila sa Pilipinas. But knowing Koreans myself, I believe it's similar to how Filipino (and Western) media portrays the Middle East. Lumaki po ako sa Bahrain, at UAE, and pag balik ko sa Pilipinas, I did get several questions that shocked me. Kung safe ba daw, kung naka-camel kami papuntang school, and the most shocking for me kung 'di raw ako natatakot sa mga Arabo. And when I ask why, it's because of obvious reasons. When in fact the Middle East (Especially the GCC/MENA Area) is in fact a very well-developed region of the world. The UAE itself is one of the safest countries with two of the safest cities (Abu Dhabi, and Dubai). Of course totoo na may mga OFW sa Middle East na minamaltrato ng mga amo, kinukuhanan ng passport, at hindi binabayaran ng maayos, of course mas mababa sahod ng mga Pinoy sa middle east vs sa mga Local at Westerners kahit same position lang (Also did you know na hina-hire sa Middle East ma-hire yung mga K-12 vs K-10 graduates?), and of course radical muslim terrorists do exist in certain Middle Eastern countries, but it does not define the whole of the Middle East; just as the negative media portrayal of Philippines in South Korea does not our country. In my opinion, mas nae-exacerbate pa nga masyado since many Filipinos think positively of South Korea, and parang hindi pa nare-reciprocate. But this is why I do videos with Koreans that defy their expectations of what they think the Philippines is (A good example yung last video ko po!). Those who come and experience the Philippines more often than not open new perspectives on what a country is and how their people are. But I do agree that there are Koreans who mistreat their Filipino workers, and I do not condone those. Pero yung mga nafeature ko sa video are students who have never met such people. If I showed you the full interviews, I tried my best extracting from them the possible negatives done by Koreans in the Philippines since I really wanted to make sure this was a fair video. pero wala po talaga silang masabi based on their personal experience, and hindi rin nila kayang magsalita on other peoples behalf since hindi naman sila yung may karapatan para i-share yung story na 'yon. For your last point, I'm not sure kung sila yung mga foreigners with the highest crime rates in the Philippines, might have to research that myself. Kaya't masaya ako na naibahagi mo yung mga thoughts at opinions mo in a respectful manner. 💜 As always, spread the love, and God bless po!

Yeah, some Koreans are racist and South Korea is still seen as a conservative country but in my more than 2 years living in South Korea as student, I realized that Filipinos mock other countries accents harsher than Koreans.

there's a difference between mocking an accent full of malice, and imitating an accent in good fun. I think what we need to learn, is that when one person of a particular heritage disparage filipinos as a whole, that we don't have to do the same thing and generalize his/her heritage. We need to isolate the person speaking as himself, and his opinions.

This is my point all along. It's sad that others are being racists towards us Filipinos, but before saying anything back to them, we Filipinos should also reflect back on ourselves on how we do and treat things. We say something when Koreans are being racists towards us particularly, but what we don't notice is we also do that kind of "racism" things even towards our fellow Filipinos. The mocking towards indigenous people, racist comments towards Black foreigners, and even the discrimination and stereotyping about mga Bisaya. Even those Korean mocking accents, we find those funny or "nakakatuwa" but we cry foul when Koreans do the exact same things towards us. FILIPINOS ARE RACISTS TOWARDS THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

Nope, Koreans are known to be racist to most of SEA countries, not just in PH and this isn't a mere stereotype. Even worst i ever known was the word "Filipino" is used as an insult there when mocking someone who "looks like Southeast asian" mainly for having tan skin. I know a korean who grew up in Vietnam and when she went back to Korea to continue studying she was bullied just because she's tan and her classmates assumed her mother is a "Filipino worker." Very upsetting.

i just want to raise this as no one mentioned this in the interviews: it's how the language was portrayed and acted upon by anyone around it. if you watched all the Filipino videos speaking Tagalog in Korean accent, you can see that most of the people's reaction is amazement on how it was achieved since we like the language yet when it was Koreans trying to speak Tagalog, it is more on "mockery" and made fun of. we can't really wash our hands in this matter since Filipinos are also racist against our own so if we encounter these kind of videos, there's always an option of just ignoring it rather than fueling it with nasty comments. let's not ruin our relationship with other countries just because there are some citizens who mocks other nationalities. let's all practice what Pablo of SB19 said: ALWAYS CHOOSE TO BE KIND.

The imitations are mainly inspired by K-drama actors and how they deliver their lines. On the other hand, there seems to be racist undertones that include stereotyping and prejudice in the video by the Korean RU-vidr. That's just what I observed. They talk and treat you the same, irregardless of your race and status. So yes. South Koreans looked down on Filipinos. They dont like our English accent. i think both parties are at wrong here. meron at merong racist between ethnicities, we all should learn from this. personally, i didn't like what tzuyang did, nor the cc guy who mimick the korean accent for the laughs. sabi nga nila diba "do not do to others kung ano ayaw mong gawin sa'yo". as for this racist korean guy, jyoonsang, i get how he's upset for being sexualized. but he doesn't have to single out filipinos like that. our fellow filipinos are not his only audience, he have a lot of other ethnicities watching and following his content too and suddenly it was all filipinos? that's why he was called out. also, you could not just blame filipinos or any other ethnicities for that, it's also their system of selling idols and their media portrayal of korean men being perfect that's why they're overly fetishized, not just in asia but all over the world as well. so to actually call filipinos out like that, like we are always the ill-mannered and uneducated people, it's unacceptable. 😢

Clearly, these racist Koeans haven't talked to these smart kids. Filipinos, specially the educated young generation, are smart enough to understand that there's racism. Even Kpop and Kdrama fans are aware of this, it is just that they're fans of the art and the artists rather than the general Korean population. I remember I talked to a group of young Korean university male students who came here to tour - one of the reasons why they chose Philippines to travel first is not just beacuse of its cheap price and beautiful beaches, they were confident that they can hook up with girls easily - they were laughing by saying Filipina women "worship" Koreans no matter how they look like as long as they're Koreans. I actually regret hanging out with those guys. That's how low they think of Filipina women, and Philippines in general. So they think if they mock the accent (which by the way they come here to learn English), or tastes of local food, they get a pass. Anyhow, this does not apply to all Koreans or Filipinos. The Koreans who have met or become close to Filipinos tend to be kinder, more accepting and open-minded. However, most Korean friends I have had pre-determined "negative" stereotypes of Filipinos in general. So, thank you EL, for having this video. This is my favorite El's Planet video so far. Filipina girls think Korean guys are the most handsome men on the planet(DISCLAIMER: Felip from SB19 is rapidly changing this perception, bro is a rock god with super handsome anime features) Also, Filipino guys think that Korean girls are the most beautiful girls in the world sent straight from heaven. If a Korean girl said “Sarang hae” with the two arm overhead heart sign to a Filipino guy, the dude might just die and go to Heaven instantly. So if you’re a Korean man or a Korean woman, you must take this super power that you have over the Filipinos and use it with utmost respect. Filipinos would love nothing more than to be friends with Koreans. If you show the Filipinos a kind heart and sincere respect, than they will give that back to you 💯 times. With great power comes great responsibility. So Korean people I implore you to treat your Filipino cousins with kindness and love. SARANGHAE ❤ MAHAL KO KAYO!!!

Always remember the world is not a fairytale, it is not a fair world so stop seeking for fairness, we will have bad people good people, people who make fun of others and people who can not take jokes. What matters is having more businesses and jobs here in the Philippines, be entreprenuer from restaurants, producing raw materials, clothing fashion lines, and many more business ideas. Just my opinion. Every country in the world has the tendency to be racist. Even the "nicest" countries have racists. Even us Filipinos are also sometimes racists. We just don't realize it. Racism has different forms. It can be overt racism where it is intentional. But the most common type is one when you're unknowingly doing/saying something racist. Educating ourselves is key.

Everyone has crap to say about everyone else in this world. Racism and ignorance are ever present wherever you go. The issue is that we Filipinos value the world’s opinions and perceptions too much. Maybe it’s our colonial past, but we constantly seek approval and recognition from foreigners. So much so that a lot of times we value their opinions of us more than our own opinions of ourselves. We make it a mission to show the world that we are the kindest, happiest, most hospitable etc. When in reality, we are no less ignorant and judgmental as the rest of the world. Just take their comments with a grain of salt and recognize how absurd it is to expect respect. Being offended is a natural reaction, but it ultimately leads to nothing. Everyone can have an opinion about you, you could either agree and improve on yourself or disagree and reinforce your beliefs. Either way, it’s constructive.

learn about the difference of punching up vs punching down. Think of stand up comedy. It's okay for poor people to make fun of rich people. Black people to make fun of white people. Women to make fun of men because of the power imbalance. The idea is that the people being made fun of are in a more powerful position and won't get hurt. Also comedy works to call out systemic and power imbalances, eg. racism, colorism, sexism, elitism, etc. However its no longer funny when, rich people make fun of poor people, when white people make fun of Black people, or when a richer, more influential country like Korea makes fun of poorer, less globally influential countries like the Philippines. So Filipinos making fun of Koreans is not the same and is not read the same way. This is why the Filipinos mocking Korean accent do not get the same traction in Korea than Koreans mocking Filipinos. To put it another way, if you are rich, would you care what poor people say about you? On the other hand, if your culture is more powerful, has more influence, and you have more money, and if you use those resources to pick on a less powerful country, how would you look? Again, it's about power imbalance. Look into how comedy works and the idea of punching up, vs punching down. Koreans making fun of Filipinos is clearly punching down......additionally, during the global Squid Game craze, Koreans also got offended when an SNL comedy skit about Squid Game in the US made fun of the Korean currency. To Koreans, it felt like the US was mocking the low value of the Korean won vs the dollar so there was a big uproar in Korea about that. That's another example of punching down from a more powerful and influential country to a less powerful one. Joking between groups is unavoidable. BUT a joke becomes racist, sexist, homophobic, elitist, etc. when the joke reinforces unequal power dynamics that are systemic.

Firstly, super digusted with the way so many south koreans view south east asians. I have seen way too many koreans put asians on a hierarchy and putting themselves on top As someone half korean myself, i have noticed in some south east asian cultures, being asked if youre korean) its considered a compliment. E.g. "omg youre so pretty! Are you korean?" My very close best friend is Filipino and got this comment. If you look at the statistics, around 1 out of every 5 women has undergone some form of plastic surgery (nothing wrong with it. Your body your choice) but if you are to say that koreans are pretty and compare other's beauties to south koreans, remember it might not even be a natural beauty youre referring to.... So many south east asians compare their apearance to those kpop idols and kdrama actors. Well... many of those kpop idols and kdrama actors have gotton work done (again, not trying to demonise surguries here. If you want to do those procedures that completely up to you). Honestly, this kind of mindset destroys self esteem (and the very concept of beauty itself one could argue) I have been upset about this topic for years and to be honest, I'm glad the true colours of south koreans (not all) are coming to light. I really wish all egotistical south koreans self reflect but tbh, nothing will happen unless south korea becomes the poorest country in the world and starts begging for help from those same people that they thought were bellow them. And here come the angry comments.... 😅

Indeed, most East Asians are indifferent towards us SEA people, however, it's a comedy skit that Filipino comedians do as well in a regular basis. How sensitive can we get? When our comedians mock other nation's accent or language, we deem it as an ethnic humor , we laugh pa nga, pero pag tayo na ang ginawan ng ganun, racism na and we suddenly got crabby? Koreans, in general, don’t look Filipino. It’s not just skintone that makes a few Koreans look Filipino, it’s also the facial features/physical traits. Koreans lighten their skin not to avoid looking like a certain ethnic group, but because pale skin has always been their beauty standard, even in historical times, as they associate it with wealth since the poor worked in farm fields and naturally had darker skin. And that mentality carried over in the present day because laborers often work under the sun (getting tanned) while the richer people (CEO’s, doctors, etc.) work indoors (are lighter skinned.)
