Arc 1 is nothing more than a prologue to HI3rd part 2 & It's a really good story. One thing is certain HI3rd is unpredictable. Remember! In the early chapters of part 1 we are made to believe that our goal is to fight Honkai. But, did anyone expect a battle of ideologies? Otto? Projects Stigmata? Kevin? There aren't any, right? We are free to enjoy the various wild theories that will emerge as the story progresses. But remember! Honkai Impact 3rd is unpredictable. My own wild theory is that the simulation on the moon is based on research and observations of various kinds of bubble universes from Mars. We have to practice first before facing real problems.

The thing is what Vita(Sa) did was not actually successful(the upload the mind thing) because most of her co-workers(except Martha) became unstable. I think the reason Vita is willing to help us is because it will also help her Restore/revive Venus.

i think they used to be real people in reality, but due to the destruction of Mars, they're forced to live in simulation

Well, Finality destroyed Mars after Venus, so it's probably not in a liveable condition rn.

@@jakeblitzcoffie4859 Actually, the memories of the Honkai beasts said the Finality stalled on Mars compared to Venus where they said the Finality was completed. That would suggest whatever the deal on Mars, it is different to Venus. More significantly, Sena's stated goal is 'saving mars' not just running simulations. I don't think these are just simulations. If they were, there really wouldn't be any point to them. Sure, the people from Earth want to wake up Kaina but Vita, Sena and Entropy gain nothing from running endless simulations.

Well those were eleven hours down the drain, unfortunate. It’s tough seeing everything DS did was rendered worthless like that. Just finished chapter three and gotta say, to me it’s very anti-climatic that everything we did was just a simulation. Either way let’s see what they got planned for the future ig.

It wasn't rendered worthless. Quite the contrary, it was extremely important, because it gave us a hint as to how we can awaken Kiana from her slumber. You will understand that once the interlude chapter drops on the global server
