Is Prada Saffiano Leather Worth it?
'Saffiano' leather is a textured, heavily finished leather.
The good: Uniform grain pattern. Scratch and water resistance. Will look new for a longer time.
The bad: Feels too much like plastic. Not for fans of natural looking and feeling leather. Will not patina.
My estimate to make a similar bag is $120 ($50 leather +$70 labor)
If you like ultra corrected and uniform looking leather, this may be for you, but similar bags can be found for much cheaper.

I believe that Coach leather bags, Dooney & Bourke and Wilson Leather were known for quality material and workmanship. Their name came from quality that last forever. Alot of other designer brands are no better than their cheap knock- offs.

The vintage Coach Bags are the best. Like the man said, “if you want to experience the bag with your senses…,”. The look feel and smell of unadulterated leather is what I look for. Not this plastic though n top of leather. I feel the plastic makes the leather deteriorate faster.

Not sure where he is from, but I always trust a Russian word on autenticity. They will even prove it to you. Lots of them are skilled craftsmen that can easily detect quality of items. I also go on th feel/texture of an item. Coach is still in the game of quality name brand.

Add a limiter/compression plug in [during "post"] (many can be found got free or have a "time limit" -videos definitely short enough) and that will help. Most podcast mics (used/sold at the consumer level), come with free plug/ins. Just saying , . ....🕊✌️

I agree with this. Perfect NYC bag with the zipper and the finish makes it water and scratch resistant so it can go anywhere. Crossbody strap means I feel more comfortable it's not going to get stolen when I travel. If anyone has this style with a different brand would love to see it!

I've never had a $20 bag that lasted. My mom was this way and never understood why her bags never lasted. She only carries one bag after all. Bought her a good quality bag from Furla and it lasted her a decade before the interior war off. The exterior steal was immaculate. There is a price point for true quality. I'd say about $150-$200. Anything more is branding. Anything less is either a good deal or garbage leather.

I know an older couple that sell second hand vintage leather bags. There are some that are not name brand and some that are and I have found some amazing finds, including an authentic leather Bottega Veneta and got it for €30. I wasn’t sure if it was real, but I had it authenticated and was told that if I have some repairs done, I could resell it for hundreds, but I love it so much with the wear and tear and I never want to let it go.

I own a few luxury bags. They feel like plastic. I also have mid priced Kate spade bags, Micheal kor bags. They aren’t cheap either but they go for 150- 400. The leather feels much more luxurious than my $1000-2000 bags. I don’t see myself ever buying another bag like that again.

Leather is sooo much better… I only know b/c Mamma would ALWAYS insist on Leather Shoes for me as a youngster… “Your feet need to breath, and the leather needs to live”. Thus a lifelong under sting and appreciation for Leather was developed. Thanks for posting.

the way my eyes grew big the moment i saw the scissors then the logo. eye-opening (pun intended) to me how i see the status symbol and the pedestal i put these brands just because society tells me soㅡ only to realize that yeah, it was just the logo.

I grew up poor and always admired the high end bags that I saw in magazines and in stores. Some friends worked extra jobs to save for a luxe bag. I never did and to this day don't own or would spend thousands on a bag. I prefer to carry my valuables in my heart, not on my arm.
