Exactly, I see my friends driving with my racing wheel and they be tacking each corner at 90 km/h and steer the wheel as if they where driving at 30 km/h 😂😂
Well my tires were so bad a one point I could barley do a turn without my car sliding all over the place, the thing is they were new but they were the cheapest tires I could find lol I learned from it tho
Honestly after using a wheel for around a year I'm assuming at pretty much every racing game with a controller. (Partially because my r2 is broken so I switched it with r1)
if you can't afford a direct drive wheel get a Thrustmaster belt driven wheel. Logitech Gear driven wheels are infamously rattly and don't have great force feedback.
Give it a few months and you’re having a proper simrig, direct drive wheels bases, different wheels, triple screens, bass shakers and a monthly Subscription 😂
Meh wheel broke so have to use controller its not too bad

The wheel rabbit hole is real. You start with severe doubts about buying a 200 bucks Logitech and the next thing you know you're daydreaming about $2000 force feedback pedals to improve .0001 seconds on your hot laps
Can confirm, started with Logitech wheel and a camping chair, now closing in on $25k worth of Sim rig with multiple custom made and designed carbon fibre wheels
steps on getting a wheel 1. get wheel 2. enjoy for a bit 3. be slow in every game thats not a sim 4. act to be above controller players, and use wheel as an excuse when ur slower than them 5. get laughed at
Real,I have the same wheel as shown in video and I play forza on console (I play on Xbox one S) and it’s just…very sensitive, you can play with the in game settings to make it more tolerable but when I see videos of people with the same wheel it seems easy for them.I don’t know if it’s just a hardware issue,or if my settings are dookie.
pretty sure the force feedback on an sim wheel is supposed to act like the whole car shaking, not just the wheel. because you do feel the car going over a curb at 100km/h
@@monkey5818i mean most people don't want to spend 1k on a wheel and just buy a logitech (which is not too bad) for example... then ye dd wheel are like 100x better
@@raptor22xbox86Logitech g pro wheel, wheelbase, and pedals all together is about 1300$. And it’s the best setup you’ll find at that price point. Direct drive. Trueforce. 11nm of force. And smoother than most fanatec and moza bases
From experience I can say that a cheap wheel / pedal combined with a couple of 2x4’s and a junkyard special seat is the way to go for me. No need spending thousands on a “real rig” unless it’s something you are really going to stick with long term. Had tons of fun with that thing and when all was said and done I spend like $300. So it didn’t feel bad to take it apart and throw it in the garage when i inevitably got over my sim racing stage.
Totally agree👍 I have played car racing games on a controller since 1985. I recently got a budget G920, pedals with clutch and 6 speed stick, absolutely loving it.
Running touge on AC with bad wheels like G920 is still an experience. Though I'm always focused on lowering my times rather than drifting or competition
@@justjo852Dirt Rally 2.0 on a G923 is amazing, unlike assetto corsa everything JUST WERKS, and truforce is such an awesome feature. It's a like having a buttkicker in your wheel.
Although it can be tricky at sometimes, with the right tweaks and getting used to the wheel you will be having so much fun… I just got a Logitech g29 today and am already having a blast💯💯💯💯 EDIT: different games have a different feeling on each wheel
G920, G29, and Thrustmaster wheels are deliberately built for racing simulators like assetto corsa. The reason he sucks at forza with a wheel is because forza has little to no real support for a 900⁰ steering system nor the feedback from the surface. Forza was built for controllers. It's the opposite in assetto corsa. Even with a good controller profile, AC cars are nearly impossible to control.
totally believe it, a friend of mine drives big rigs for work, but atm because of his girlfriend he drives a automatic as a daily… He bought and has built a whole sim rig for Truck simulator, down to the whole custom hi/low shifter and truck wheel… he says it helps his muscle memory when he’s not in his truck for some weeks at a time… LMFAO still doesn’t make a lot of sense to be spending your off days doing hour long trips on euro truck or american truck sim and not making a single dime… but the guy does admit that anyone who doesn’t love the road and driving wouldn’t understand😂
I'm definitively better at games with the wheel than controller by now, the wheel enables a much smoother steering input, and force feedback that actually tells you what you need
It’s a bit of a big purchase, but a quest 2 goes a LONGGGG way in the realism aspect. Assetto Corsa’s VR mod is awesome for the immersion when you combine it with a wheel. it’s about the best experience you can get out of a simulator without buying a motion rig, cockpit, etc.
Ok, no one will listen my advice, and i respect it, but, please, DO NOT BUY LOGITECH WHEELS, they work with gears, so it is Louder and less smoother than a Thrustmaster who use belts, belts are more precise, less noisy and smooth as fuck, if you are going with a Direct drive even better, but please do not buy wheels that uses only gears
I just got a PXN v3 pro and I will tell you, it is not bad. For the price of 90$, it is unbelievably cheap for racing wheels but it does not disappoint. I just got mine today and I have spent 6 hours on Forza Horizon 5 on it. I recommend it
Yo I just got that same exact wheel today on Christmas I haven't gotten to test it considering my family wakes up at 12 exactly on Christmas so we have to go back to bed but yet still cool
I bought a wheel but k got one without feedback, it's just cringe that I spent money on it (edit 4 months later, i now have the exact one you jsut ahowed and i can agree, its great)
I made one with cardboard and attached my phone to it. I can play games by connecting the gyroscope of my phone to my PC. 💀 I even made paddles with my old keyboard. Totally love DIY.
Untrue, i went from latest wheel back to controller. More and closer buttons on the controller. Took up 4 buttons on the wheel just to look around. And needed to look around all the time (Forza Horizon 5 Eliminator)
That's an extremely narrow case. Most racing games don't have a battle royale mode where you need to look all around you... Virtual mirror, two buttons and a radar are enough and if you can afford it, an extrawide/3 screens/VR.
I can totally vouch for this, I’m now 80% as good in FH5 compared to using my old controller, but fun factor is through the roof with that wheel and pedal set 😂😂
I used to say that but now im way better than i used to be with a controller, i have the same wheel and forza motorsport really is the game to play with those
The handling physics aren’t that realistic. The crash physics are the “realistic” part of that game. if you want realistic handling physics play asseto corsa or if you are rich get iracing.
Mainly play racin games on my xbox360 still, have the quite old, discontinued Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia Figured out that it's absolutely amazin as first wheel in ETS2 / ATS as well Currently savin up for my first FFB & shifter wheel
@@NPCLiam I played on the PS4 with the T Flight 4 and for some reason I got it to work in The Crew 2 but here are the controls thrust up and down for acceleration and deceleration the flight stick is used like a normal stick on the controller it's fun but It only worked in The Crew 2 which is a bit sad
If you have a desk mount definitely try it out there! A rig is absolutely amazing and having all the great ready to go really is priceless but desk mounts are properly good too and obviously you're saving a ton.
@@Toffeprussi All depends on the desk/surface. For my desk it would slide off a lot but on a different surface it would maybe be more stable. The shot though is an exaggerated visual for sure.
This even works for the crew 2, though at first it'll be very rapid, like the lexus yoke steering type of rapid, but if you hold down the power button while playing the game until the options of turning off or restarting the console pop up, then cancel, then the steering wheel will start working realistically with it, just without force feedback
I have a wheel, started off horrible, over time i started to love it and now it's actually easier for me that controller bc you have more control and feeling over your car
I know I’m very late to this one, but for those of you searching for a racing wheel, whatever you do, don’t go for one with suction cups. Speaking from experience, they will just pop off when you’re trying to make any kind of turn, no matter how little you’re turning the wheel. Hope it helps someone!
Yeah right lol settings matter I almost threw mine out the window … settings matter so much ! 😂❤ love my OG thrustmaster TMX they don’t even sell it anymore 900• force feedback . I drift on Xbox x assetto corsa that game will help you a lot and the wheel works really well and if your having trouble start at 360 for your wheel rotation, and then bump it up as you go ❤
I did a bunch of research recently and for £326 I can get the Fanatec DD 5Nm Ready2Race bundle. Logitech and PXN are only £100 cheaper, but cannot be upgraded, and are much weaker. The Fanatec motor can be upgraded to 8Nm with a new power supply, and you can upgrade the pedals with a clutch and load cell. Not even the MOZA r5 bundles matches the value for money Fanatec is bringing.
Hey I was wondering if I could get a pc i'm trying to stream and I don't have anything to do with and when I do try to it doesn't work and I really want to be appreciative of a PC or a PS five or something sorry if this is weird I love your videos and the stuff is sick
Not only does it teach you things you can't learn on a controller like steering with the pedals and the limits of grip but it also makes you better in real life. My best video game purchase in my 10 years of gaming😂
I’m gonna be honest I always wanted a sim wheel setup since the Ps3 days and eventually till like (2023) I had some money laying around so I bought a used one for $280 with seats and frame all that stuff. Setting up the wheel for a week was hard but I watched a vid and got everything set up. I was terrible for 2-3 weeks until eventually today (2024) I’m very good with the wheel. And I ditched my controller 👍
