Sebo vacuums are renowned for their performance, durability, and German made quality. In this video, we answer the question: "Is spending the extra money for a Sebo vacuum worth it?" We do this by breaking down one of the best vacuum warranties in the industry - the decade long warranty. Sebo offers this warranty on all of their Onyx line vacuum cleaners while other Sebo machines receive a seven year or five year warranty. Compared to other vacuum cleaner brands, this blows away the competition.

I don't want to dispute anything said int his video. Josh obviously knows his stuff and knows much more than I'll ever know about vacuums. But I have three vacuums: An Oreck Conquer, A SEBO Automatic X4 and most recently a SEBO Dart. I made this mistake of buying the Dart from a dealer in Canada and surprise, surprise I have learned that the renowned SEBO warranty will not be honored in my case (in Ohio) unless I ship the unit back to Canada. If there were a market for used vacuums I have two like new SEBO's I'd love to part with. I find myself going for the Oreck over either SEBOs when it's time to vacuum. SEBO's do have exceptional build quality but in terms of performance & usability I prefer the Oreck Conquer hands down,. Just my viewpoint.

It's unfortunate you were caught up with the Canadian unit. There are numerous reasons why appliance manufacturers set up entirely different distribution networks in different countries. This extends to how warranty is handled within those countries. Dealers are contractually required not to ship outside of their territories. It is the dealer's responsibility to adhere to this requirement. We don't believe it should be some thing placed on the consumer. However, Sebo USA and Sebo Canada are entirely separate entities. We have recently seen an uptick in Sebo Canada neglecting to enforce dealer agreements and the consumer is unfortunately caught in the middle. I can assure you Sebo USA is not happy about this turn of events and is doing every thing in their power to put an end to it. However, as long as Sebo Canada continues to support unethical dealers this will continue.

In answer to your Oreck preference. Usability plays a big part in vacuum selection and really is personal preference. We are an Oreck dealer and service center as well. That said, since the acquisition of Oreck by TTI of Hong Kong we have seen a rapid dip in quality and longevity of the units. This coupled with repair components not being available in many cases creates a real problem. The Elevate series include warranties up up 7 years depending on model. However, as a service center, when we can't get parts or have to wait months for those parts that warranty isn't particularly helpful. So while in your specific case the unit might be your preference we tend to lean towards the Riccar supra lite machines when a customer's big concern is weight. With those units we know we have a company which will rigorously support us in maintaining the machine and honoring that warranty for years to come.

@@vacuumsrus Weight is no concern for me. I just prefer the Oreck Elevate Conquer. The excellent LED lighting, the swivel neck and it seems to do a really good job on my carpet. I'm aware of the TTI acquisition and in terms of build quality the Oreck and SEBO's are vastly different. I have no expectations of 15-20 years with the Oreck. Also SEBO customer service is top notch. Oreck folks , the times I contacted them, always seemed like they were having a really bad day. Or just didn't appreciate being bothered.

Josh can you do a Riccar Prima vs a Sebo D4 or E3

Hi Janice! We're working on a similar video for comparisons but unfortunately the Riccar Prima is no longer in production. However, generally speaking, the Riccar has better cleaning performance while the Sebo's include more tools and are typically longer lasting.
