Actually, It doesn't faze me. When I saw Michigan Staff move to Bucknut Central, and Vise Versa... I was numb to everything else. No disrespect to Spartans, but I wiIl always hate the Bucknuts far more than I will hate another Michigan based school. So that bridge was already crossed for me.
Biggie was a coach under Crisler at Michigan and Greg Mattison coached @ Ohio State and Notre Dame . Coaching is different ,just like people in the workforce and switching jobs to competitors . The better example is Boren transferring to Ohio State etc..
I’m a Michigan fan but I always rooted for Sparty unless they were playing Blue. That all changed when I saw Michigan State fans cheer for Ohio State to beat Michigan. Screw MSU.
I don't root for Msu but I have several friends that do and I make it a point to not be a dick about it unless they are to me (only one really ever was and he learned the hard way that I remember EVERYTHING and wait until the timing is right to get revenge). That being said if they wear their state stuff to my house I'll allow it reluctantly. osuX on the other hand, just seeing that apparel in the state of Michigan makes my blood boil! I hate losing to Msu the most because of my proximity to their fanbase being that I live in SE Michigan, but if I had to live with a bunch of hillbilly buck-nutz I'd go berserk. That's why beating ohio state is all the more fun.
This goes on everywhere. A Washington player transferred to Oregon this year. I think I saw an Auburn player transfer to Alabama. Get used to players jumping ship in rivalries.
I'm going to get slammed but when MSU is NOT playing Michigan, I root for MSU to win. The more good teams the state of Michigan has, the better IMO. There's only one team I hate and can't root for under any circumstances: Ohio State.
I'm fine with open transfers, NIL, and opt outs regardless of school. Colleges have had way too much power over the athletes for years. About time for them to get something for themselves. Absolutely 0 issue with either guy going to a better spot for themselves.

I swear half the reason Michigan, MSU and OSU steal players and coaches from each is just to give their rivals the middle finger. This isn’t new but it does feel a little more gross these days since a lot of it is about money rather than passion.

As a Michigan fan, I was very happy to get Jaden Mangham, and I didn't care about losing Semaj Bridgeman. Mangham was a starter and an All-B1G Honorable mention by the coaches and media. Bridgeman never sniffed the field at Michigan, and that's why Spartan fans are crying about this! lol

Players don't play for loyalty I mean some of them. To me if you change who you support you were never a fan of that school in the first place. My dad went to Michigan so I'm Michigan in sports but my sister went to msu. I respect msu as an institution but in sports I'm always a wolverine if you were a spartan and now a wolverine as a fan lol get real you be a spartan again once the spartans do better . A two faced fan is not needed in spurts

I'm on the other side but my dad said something similar in 2000 when MSU won the basketball championship. I rooted for them then because I was only 16 but I don't think I could do that again. I could meet someone halfway and say it's good for the big ten, but deep down I don't care. When osuX won the natty in 2014 I wanted to barf up a lung. osuX fans feel the same way now and it's GREAT.
It’s good for the big ten. We may have or in conference rivalries, but seeing the SEC hoist trophies up every year is only further separating the two conferences.

You guys are out of touch. These kids come from all over the country and do not share the same hate that you all are spewing. The fans are the ones perpetrating the hate. The players can end up being teammates at the next level and need to think and behave like the professionals they seek to become.
