The league is about matchups. The Bengals are perfectly built to beat teams like the Chiefs, and not built to beat teams like the browns and Steelers. Teams with excellent defensive edge who can get to the QB. Joe Burrows record against the North is 7-11, and against every other team in the league is 21-11. Which also explains the Bengals recent success in the playoffs compared to the rest of the north. The Bengals are built to beat the AFC elite and teams like the chiefs, the rest of the north is built to beat the north.

I think the thing that is being missed most in this segment is, yeah, they're built to beat the Chiefs, but what else? To me, a team's focus should not be built on beating one team in particular, getting pieces to beat that particular team. The question should be, "Are we built to win the Super Bowl?" And the answer, for the Bengals currently, is "no." The Bills had the same mentality of "building to beat the Chiefs," and look where that got them. The Chiefs' mentality for the last five seasons is "Are we built to win the Super Bowl," and that is what they have focused on, not an individual team. So, yeah, Joe and company may be built to beat the Chiefs, but what have they done with that? It hasn't led to a championship. It's only lead to them being able to brag that they've beat the Chiefs mostly during the regular season. Which is fine, but that's nothing compared to Super Bowl rings.

I agree with Joe Burrow here. The Bengals are the most able bodies team to beat the Chiefs other than the Ravens. Bengals went to the AFC championship twice and went to SB. And almost knocked off Pat Mahomes twice of not for a late hit in that 2022 AFC championship game. The Bengals are a very scrappy team in the Playoffs. One of the greatest coaching staffs in the league.

They act like Joe threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs in that AFC title game. The Chiefs gave that game away. He also didn’t face the Chiefs defense that just led KC to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs team that won the SB last year was completely different from the team that lost the AFCCG in 2021. It was 3 years ago.

Ok all those games except for 1 was in the regular season and KC was dominating them until that 4th quarter in the AFCCG. And they barely beat KC in overtime. But the Bengals didn’t win the Super Bowl. The next season KC got they get back sent them home and won the chip, so again resumes don’t add up and stop putting other ppl with Mahomes cuz it won’t work

What no one is talking about is the Bengals finished 9-8 with the hardest schedule in 23 years. And there division the AFC North the other teams all of them finished above 10 wins talk about a tough division. And they did that with a backup QB for half a year and Burrow not able to move the first 4 games of the year with a calf injury leading to a 1-3 start.

This last year was the easiest path to the Super Bowl than any team could have. And the Ravens still didn’t make it with Burrow, Watson, Rodgers all hurt and the Steelers had Pickett playing QB. This year all those guys are healthy and the Steelers have Russ. It’s game time this year. The Bengals are going all the way this year.

Give the B2B SB Champions credit. If you can't beat the Chiefs and win a championship then you're only a competitor, the only team that can compete with the champions but the champions are champions for a significant reason. A competitor is a competitor until they become a threat to the champions and Cincinnati are the only team that has shown they can compete with the Chiefs but that's all they can show. Next topic.

In the same time the Bengals have 2 Conference Championship appearances and 1 Conference Champ win, the Chiefs have 6 straight Conference Champ appearances, 4 Conference Champ wins, and 3 Superbowl wins. Cincy isn't built to beat the Chief's because their greatest weakness is their front line. Our defense is legit and respect needs to be given to that side of the ball. They kept Lamar and Josh contained. Kinda hard to get your receivers the ball when you are running for your life. Cincy can't protect Burrow. He is 50/50 in starting and finished a season. The AFC north is a punishing division. You gotta survive that gauntlet before you face the KINGS of the AFC (the Chief's in the playoffs).

Until Burrow’s contract really starts affecting the cap… sure they’re built to beat them I guess. Higgins will be gone next year and will not be finding a par replacement. Also their DC is probably going to get a HC job soon I’m not sure why he is being slept on. Big Lou covers up so many of that defense’s flaws
