I have only limited experience with the Feynman Timepieces watches. The build quality is very satisfying and the overall presentation is great. With this One, the bezel appears too present. Consequently the dial aperture appears too small for me. I don’t have one, and wish I could try one on to get a true feel for it. I’m very pleased with the Fjorde. (Like you, the twin crown isn’t a feature for me.) The Fjorde’s build and finishing add significant value to the wearing experience. I expect this latest One would be similarly satisfying. thanks for watching and yeah, sounds like we are on the same page about the bezel on the one, and the crowns on the fjord. maybe a future model will tick all the boxes for me. kudos to them though for building a following and a nice unique brand.
Nice presentation as ever, Brian. Personally I rather like a cow's horn lug although I've seen better. See: Furlan Marri's latest sector dial watch. More elegant. What I don't get here is the unnecessary thickness. I have a Stowa with this movement that is 7mm. There is a lot of height between the top of the hands and the glass. Shave this back say 2mm (I think you could) and suddenly the watch has a slimmer more elegant bezel and is less conical looking. Make those lugs slimmer and this is a different beast. I also prefer the Breguet numerals for this style of watch. But hey, when you make a watch you make your own aesthetic decisions and they made theirs. I wish them the best but I think this one is more in the potential than the reality.
a good summary of my thoughts also. kudos to them for building the following and unique brand. i like interacting with FT and they go by the beat of their own drum, which is to be applauded. just hasn’t been one keeper for me, yet.
Yeah, I was about to buy the original production of this watch until I started watching video reviews of it and saw how significant the colour disparity was between their media pictures and how it looks in real life. And then a reviewer commented that the Seconds Hand, which is supposed to look like a Lizard's Tail, looked to him like a Sperm, that ruined it for me. Once you see that it can't be unseen. And I'm just not paying $1k to have a Golden Sperm revolve about on my wrist.
i’ve heard that before too, but i guess that’s for the beholder to decide. i kinda like the unique shape and it goes with their theme. the founders color isn’t for me but some of the other models have broader appeal i think.
