Are the TRAVELLERS and the ROMA same? | Nomadic Lifestyle 

I have learned another story by our forefathers

There are different rules and lifestyles between for example gypsy and travellers.

Um the travellers are Irish or British origin .. the Roma ancestors were Indians but in todays world they are mixed groups they mixed with nations where they lived for centuries they are mixed between Indian Iranian Turkish and also those of us who lives in Eastern Europe since the old days also have Eastern European mix in them .. each Roma tribes have their own unique history’s they all speak one language Sanskrit .. travellers and Roma have similarities but we are not the same ethnic groups we are two different ethnic groups but both groups have similar way of life .. as a Roma i respect travellers they are also true survivors like us and they have unique history as well .. if I’m not mistaken they are one of the oldest Irish people out there they go back to the beginning of Ireland history ..

Irish travelers were Irish families displaced by the English colonizers whom seized their land and displaced them, leaving them homeless. Romani (gypsies/gitano) people are from displaced military soldiers from ancient Rajasthani Northern India. The word gypsy derived from an ancient Greek word for Egyptian because the ancient Greeks thought the brown Romani people were from Egypt but actually were Rajasthani of Northern India.

In Sweden travellers are from india from the beginning and gypsys speak finish and come from india from the beginning they need to wear special dresses and suits. We trsvellrrs can wear anything and we oftwn meet at the summers in caravans the gypsies usally don’t do that

As I understand your saying British gypsies arnt real gypsies? Well if you are I hate to tell you but your VERY VERY wrong unless a child’s parents are Irish that child is a gypsy my family are gypsies I’m 16 years old and I know hardly anything about my history but I know I’m a Romani person I might of unheard you because it’s late at night for me are you claiming British gypsies arnt gypsies? Same with Scottish gypsies and Welsh gypsies?

Swedish and norwegian travellers come from india we even have a community in norway where we have reserched where we come from and most have found north East india/Himalaya/Pakistan somewhere no one know for sure exactly where. I can Connect you with thousands of our people in Sweden and norway. I have met some of our english and irish brorhers allso. Sometimes we all LINK up at camping sites

nah man, travellers are irish. buuut they came from a OLD OLD eastern family, they came here hundreds of years before the roma.

Roma is the name of a specific ethnic group originating from India, whereas 'traveller' is just another word for 'nomad'. Roma were travellers in the past but nowadays not so much. Non-Roma ethnicities can be travellers, too. 'Gypsy' or 'tsigan' in Eastern Europe means a person from the Roma ethnic group, whereas in Western Europe it means 'traveller'.

I'm Sinti-Russko-Rom from Russia, and it does not matter to me whether you are Travellers from England, Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia , USA or you are Roma from Eastern Europe, or you are Sinti from Germany, we are all Aryans. Roma and Sinti are of Indian Origin. Traveller are of european Origin. If we Stopp travelling we still stay Sinti / Roma. If the travellers Stopp travelling than they wont be travellers No more. 🫣.
