The copper piece is inspired engineering for the reasons mentioned but also solves another issue optics suffer from. This pair will not let in moisture but copper has antifungal properties so if a spore somehow got in the copper should help to halt the growth of fungus.

To those that paid $6000 for a refurbished pair in the past are probably kicking themselves now, but if they needed them so bad at the time I guess it was worth it. That was my first thought on a rocking boat these would be great. For those to get Louisiana rocking vessel it can be much worse when trying to look through binoculars. Actually the first time I’ve seen these really cool tech. Thanks for the excellent review and showing us how they’re assembled with testing etc. that’s always extremely interesting and helpful. well for the 1.5K you can get a very capable Canon or Fujinon, but this is very old school technology more reliable than any new electronic stabilizers, and probably very fast like 6* or 7* per second, this type of stabilizing technology we use on the tanks. You are talking about two different standards. For many people the Fuji would be perfectly acceptable. Both are equally capable in their own right. As it is a case of horses for courses.
@electriceyeslide5959
@electriceyeslide5959 4 года назад
bighand69 Actually I’m not. It’s the “rules of inches”. I’ve owned a lot of expensive stuff and I know that you can take a pair of Binoculars like the Techno Stabi’s and compare them to the Fraser’s; and while the Fraser’s will be “technically” better, they won’t be $2700 better. So the juice isn’t worth the squeeze passed a certain point. Often times the price difference isn’t warranted passed the brand itself and even if it is, it will usually be for a very specific feature a competitor doesn’t have. Any reasonable person will tell you these are not $2700 better than the Techno-Stabi’s.

Perfect for the Rockies, 500-800+ yards is not uncommon and if ones dropped money on a high tier say nightforce for those ranges then cheaps out on binoculars they have issues. The only pain in the butt is saving up for both a scope and binoculars for long range hunting.
@ChemistyStudent
@ChemistyStudent 4 года назад
Pardon my ignorance, but why have both the scope and Binos?
@danieljcall3811
@danieljcall3811 4 года назад
ChemistyStudent but a good question none the less it's for safety to emphasize it requires a story my dad told me. Years ago while deer hunting he noticed another hunter in the distance and to see what he was doing he used his binoculars that he kept with him just to find out that this guy was doing the same thing but he didn't have binoculars; my dad was being scoped. Now in order to tell the bone head to knock it off he motioned that he was willing to return the favor, thankfully he understood and scurried off and hopefully started using binoculars ever since.
@ChemistyStudent
@ChemistyStudent 4 года назад
@@danieljcall3811 Makes sense! Thank you for the polite, and informative answer. If you don't mind another: currently I only shoot paper at the range, and am saving up for a decent spotting scope. Do most hunters bring just a set of Binos, or do they also bring a spotting scope? I would suppose they serve different roles, but outside my area and curious.
@danieljcall3811
@danieljcall3811 4 года назад
ChemistyStudent it really depends on where and what one is hunting of weather you'd bring a spotting scope or opt for binoculars. Living in a state that's part of the Rockies people have been known to use both with success but as for myself and others that I personally know which is a ridiculously small sample we generally prefer the wide angle of binoculars. However there's been a time or two while looking for rock chucks to pop I've wondered if it would have been beneficial to pack a spotting scope and tripod but for me binoculars are usually a go to item just because what I do finds a spotting scope more of a hassel to set up. This is only an option and you should take it with a grain of salt since what works for me may not work for you.

Cheaper, for sure, because they use active image stabilization, and only their most expensive binocs are waterproof. Their system works well, but it much more sensitive to impact and environmental conditions as I said in the video. The glass they use is also fine, but it's not as clear as that used by Fraser Optics.
@makermatrix9815
@makermatrix9815 4 года назад
@@TWANGnBANG As an engineering feat, these are amazing. But it's only actually needed for a few specific applications, like if you plan on running them over with a truck or diving into a foxhole when coming under fire. The active binocs are more than fine for every day use. Japanese glass is terrific, relatively low cost (not as tough, but you can replace them eight times for the cost of these), and the battery life is many multiples over what this gyro system can offer. Oh, and the weight. Yikes. I loved your overview of the damping system though. That is one of the coolest bits of engineering I have ever seen.
