We live 5 minutes from the Michter’s distillery and they’re both going for close to $200. Maybe a few years back they were cheaper but I’d say impossible to find the 10yr for $150
Love the honest reviews and positive critiques! Thanks for always being honest and classy with your reviews! Looks like the 10yr Bourbon is trading at over $400 on secondaries. I will have to pass on that price point. Maybe I'll get lucky someday and find it for something reasonable.

I like videos like this because I get to see how these higher priced bottles taste. They are not in my budget but maybe one day. Till then I’m just drinking vicariously through the both of you.
So, speaking of dropping $150, last night (6/20), I get an email from Virginia ABC saying I have won a chance to buy Blanton's straight from the Barrel for $149.99+tax. So after a few "Holy Moley I can't believe I won!" I look to see if y'all have reviewed it. And my luck holds and y'all are trying regular Blanton's, a store pick, and the straight from the barrel. THANK GOD y'all like the barrel and thought the price point was good because I DEFINITELY can't drop that cash on trash because this is definitely way out of my normal range. So now I gotta buy a glencarin for this unicorn lol. Thanks for the info and the videos.
A lot of allocated bottles are very hard to get in WA and are often double srp or more. I fell in love with Michter's when I visited KY last year. I got extremely lucky to get a bottle only a little higher than srp and am saving it for my 1 yr anniversary with my wife later this year. Awesome review fellas!
@@Abby_Normal_1969I shop online but hit up the local stores just in case. I got an eh Taylor single barrel at less than 95 dollars including our horrid tax. You can get lucky. I just tell the employees I’ll open it so they know I’m not a reseller..Hell if it’s a great deal I give them a try if they want. Also snagged a Blantons for $68 before tax at Safeway a few weeks ago
@tysony8785 - wow. Pretty nice. I look weekly when I can. There is a QFC in Redmond that gets those maybe once or twice a quarter. I have missed them when they are in.
I was lucky enough to grab both the 10yr 23 Michters as my first $150+ bottles and the bourbon is by far my favorite pour I’ve had this year. Fantastic stuff
Glad to see you did the blood oaths review, was offered the bottle at one for my store that I frequent visit for $200 ,so happy I passed on it , I've seen a few reviews that were the same as your put me at peace about it . And as far as the mickters that's a road I don't want to go down for some reason.
Michters regular rye is in my top 3 favorites. So I could only imagine how much I'd love this bottle. If I ever found for MSRP, I might think about dropping the money on that
I was really interested in hearing your take on the Blood Oath Pact 9. I managed to get a bottle of the Pact 8, and thought it was wonderful! Glad to know I don't have to chase this one as hard.
When I hit the KY bourbon trail last year, Michter’s 10 was easlily in the top 3 bourbons I tried. Only two that were possibly better were GTS and 4R LE. The low entry proof on the Michter’s 10 really allows it to shine at lower proof. Simply spectacular whiskey!
Was just in Louisville and now wish I would have went back for a M10B myself. We did get the Fort Nelson BSB so I’m not too upset but your review of a baby GTS has me wanting one now.
I love watching you guys reviews. Do a really good job. I’d like to see and hear your broadcast with better microphones and acoustics. Thank you for your hard work
KURT!!! TRENTON!!! This is def why I need to grab some Michters. You both sold me!! Im still working my way up to the high proof stuff!!! CHEERS family!!!
I have one liquor store in my area that seems to have one bottle at a time of the Sagamore Rye Sherry Finish. I’ll keep picking them up as long as I see them there.
I've heard nothing but great things about that Michters 10-Year Bourbon. My wife and I are heading to Kentucky in August - hoping to swing by the gift shop and get lucky. Cheers!
Had someone try to sell Blood Oath to me for $220. Glad I didn't jump on it. I have Pact 5 and Pact 8. Trying to get 2 more bottles (for kids weddings). Will try next year for a different finish.
We just had the Spirit release in BC and that Michter's 10 Bourbon was $310.00 MSRP. It was gone to the first 6 people in line. Definitely sought after. Maybe I will get one someday. Appreciate the review
Too bad they didn’t make it further west. I was at Kelowna and Kamloops but they didn’t get any Michters 10. What was nice was that there were items left over from the preorder that were just put on the shelf. We picked up our preorders and grabbed some JD single barrel barrel proof BCL picks off the shelf too.
Thanks for the informative video guys. But, a few things: 1) it would be nice if you actually did some close ups of the labels, especially on these special release bottles (most other whiskeytubers do so). Obviously I don't need a close up of your average drinker. It would be nice to see the actual details of year and proof; 2) What releases are these? 2023? 2022? I saw one place selling the 2015 release, so I have no idea if we're talking apples to oranges here; 3) Those aren't remotely $150 bottles. I checked out several of my normal places, including big stores that don't gouge, and the best price is $400 (LIMIT ONE). So absent your liquor store connections, or Trenton's ability to stake out stores, in reality those bottles are over double the stated price.
Being honest, I have never spent over $100 for a bottle of bourbon. If I happen to run into a chance to buy a bottle of the Michter's 10 year bourbon, I will probably take the plunge on it at $150. Michter's is so good at getting great flavors out of lower proof whiskey that I don't think I would be able to pass that one up.
I bought a bottle of Blood Oath Pact 7 . I over paid and I will never, ever buy another Blood Oath product again. It is undrinkable. When I drove past the distillery while on the Bourbon Trail, I wished I had the bottle to throw through the CEO and master distiller's window. It was that bad.
I WISH I could get that Michter’s 10 year bourbon for $150. I saw it today for $500! Ridiculous and a hard pass. The mushroom note is probably the sulfur note common to wine finishes. Thanks for the video. I’m sure I’ll never see these at a reasonable price, but it was a fun watch.
That Michter’s rye is most likely contract distilled, likely by brown Forman. It’s definitely not mgp since it says Kentucky on it. It could be their distillate since they started distilling 10 years ago but it’s likely older than that, making it contract distilled. They’ve never sourced anything, either contract or their own.
FYI - The michters 10B is speculated to have 12-16 year bourbon in it. When they didn’t have a release in 2021 they said the bourbon is “well over the age necessary”. I think you can taste it as well, there’s no way that’s only 11 year old bourbon
I did a tasting here in Tampa with the Michters reps and they sold us bottles in packages. Absolutely was happy to buy two of each of the 10 yr and would do it again! Delicious.
Honestly in what world is M10 150 bucks, the rye is 220 msrp at the local grocery store after being years of a good customer and begging maybe they’ll let you get one single bottle at 220
I have to agree that I wished BO released their formula percentage. Since each pact release is different, you're going in a little blind as to what to expect. Especially for the price.
In MI Michters 10 years rye $200 MSRP. I had a chance to purchase for $225, but passed. I think is good rye, but way overpriced. For $150 I would definitely buy this bottle
Crazy to see many of you from US writing in the comments $250-300 for M10R. Where I live in Norway we have very high alcohol taxes and only goverment owned stores selling liquor and yet here the price is $239.
I totally miss read that price in the thumbnail i thought it said $1,500 not $150. Though it would be interesting to see you guys taste a $1,500 bottle of something. Scotch perhaps?
Im sorry but i can't see myself paying 150 bucks for a 10 year old bottle of Michter's when theres Russell's Reserve, Eagle Rare, and Widow Jane available everyday for far less. 🥃
@@coltonr5741agreed with a minor caveat. Regular RR10 is not in that league. However, I’ve found some 9+ year RR SiB store picks that are fantastic. Around $70-75
I enjoy you channel, but let me say All in All I can not extrapolate that $150 bottle would be much better than a $40-$50 bottle, I have paid $40 for Eagle Rare 10 at the distillery, I bad $44 E.H Taylor BIB at the distillery, I paid $65 For Single Barrel Russell Reserve , I paid $38 for Maker Make 46, I paid $56 for 1.75L of knob Creek 9, I paid $75 for a Knob creek 12 yr., I have also bought Elijah Craig (normal) and Larceny (normal), Maker Mark, WT101, Early Times BIB. I paid $45 for Willett Pot Still Reserve. I like all on my list. I do not know which I will have at 9:00 PM tonight or tomorrow or the night after that.
I wouldn’t hold on to the “proof” of the whisky as a selling factor, when you have reviews to rely on. Proof point can be marketing fluff, IMHO if your bottle is poor you sell the proof. If the product has the depth of flavour to be worth the price then why not buy it and enjoy?
@kellydrover1994 yes but in my years of experience more proof is always more flavor id rather not pay higher price for more water id rather taste it at the true cask strength
Don't let proof put you off trying or purchasing these. I don't have the M10 bourbon (yet) but have several bottles of the M10 Rye. It's simply one of the most enjoyable and well crafted rye whiskeys available and will always be a buy for me at msrp.
my conspiracy theory is that Old Forester bought back a bunch of casks for the Old Forester 1924 release :P (Michter's apparently sourced from Old Forester)
Michters... they're alright. I like them, but they're a bit too proud. They chill filter and they're secretive about everything... they won't tell you their cooperage, they won't tell you their mash bill. There are so many things that go into the product besides a mash bill and a barrel. Even an identical mash bill, cooperage, yeast, etc... it will still be different.
Blood oath pact 9 is the weakest allocated bottle I’ve had this year. I’ve gone back to it 4 times and there’s just nothing to it. If it was a $50 bottle, I’d say go for it.
I think you’re right and the secret is out. This was on table 1 of the last Alabama ABC allocation drop and people were walking past it long after all the other table - items were gone. Just not a lot of fans out there.
Wait the rye is not even their own juice? If I heard that correctly. Why pay that kind of money on ten year whiskey when you can get others for much less. Plus it’s impossible to find. I’ll pass. Enjoy!!
