Already more subscribers than 90% of the other major bourbon channels in half the time and you’re not gettin’ beaten over the head with sponsors. Zbiotics anyone? 😅 That’s why I love this channel - fun, wholesome education and entertainment. That’s also why I’m a patron. Keep up the great work team 👍
Old forester 100 is king for me. From standard caramel and vanilla flavors backed with a spicy proof, it’s the quintessential bourbon. OF100 is $25, great to mix, great taken neat, what’s not to like. So much value, such a beautiful whiskey
@@jshapiro34 I'm all in for the OF 1920 and 100, in that order, but the 1910 doesn't do it for me. The flavor profile (for me) falls flat in contrast to the similar price point 1920. I haven't found an option that compares to these two bottles for the price. Change my mind.
@@kookiedabear do you drink double oak WR ? Because your missing oak and leather and Cherrys my friend in 1910 while living in a fruit cake world in 1920 I smoke cigars so 1910 is a cigar to me it screams cherry nose with leather and charred oak taste which pairs well with earth and leather cigars or aromatic sweet tipped cigars like Steve Saka blends and dead wood tobacco’s while the 1920 is excellent with chocolate/ vanilla style cigars because it rounds out desert with banana nose and Carmel and sugar banana taste I think the 1920 is closer paired to the OF 100 25$ bottle just super lacking but same notes to me I pour it for friends that don’t tip or bring anything and use in mixed drinks but I won’t just sit around and sip OF100 as it screams vanilla and bland hints of everything else
@@jshapiro34 Yeah, I have/drink WR Double. Pairing whiskies with cigars is a different animal in contrast to taking it in on a clean palate. I stopped smoking to ensure my lungs will last long enough to see my boys into manhood, but I do miss the two together.
@@kookiedabear bro your lungs should be fine if you smoked cigars right! I know plenty of people that do judo classes and workout 3-5 times a week and we all smoke 3-10 a week or one every day. I try to smoke 3-5 a week and get 8-12 oz of liquor a week but with 12 hour shifts and school and gym it’s not always possible
Visited Old Fo last month. Great tour and enjoyed tasting flight that included the Birthday bottle. Learned a lot about their aging process and particularly was interested to hear how they select barrels to formulate their Original Recipe. Love Old Forester. Keep the videos coming. Thanks!
I always love to watch a blind tasting. It's funny how you can taste a favorite bourbon and not recognize the notes until you are told what it is, then all of a sudden you recognize it as an old favorite. The mind loves to play tricks......
Hey Kurt! It would be MY 41 Year Reunion from HS as well :) Last fall, we actually had a 40 year down in Clarksville and had about 55-60 out of the 150 there.
Great video - well worth the time and enjoyable! 😃Camera was focused on the bottles in the back. 😉 Now I have to go get an 1897. I prefer 1910 and 1920 but need to remind myself what 1897 tastes like (my 3rd favorite of the Whiskey Row collection). Thank you as always for all that you do on your channel! 👏👏
I never liked Kentucky whisky and gave Old Forester a chance after watching your videos. And now, Old Forester is one of my favorite beands of bourbon, especially 1910, Statesman, and 100 proof! Thanks guys and keep the videos coming.
Clearly people complaining about giving animals a chance at a good life are beyond insane. You and your volonteers are doing wonderful work for these dogs and the other animals.
I get chestnut on little book #6 and St. Augustine, so much so, that it's the only thing I get on both those bottles. Also, Trenton needs to go to his High School reunion, he's a RU-vid star, how cool is that!
Another great video. Knowing it was a Brown-Forman product, I’d have been hunting for that banana note from the start. That would’ve been my only chance to get this one.
What a fun video. I've been a sub since the very early days and it's been fun watching your channel grow. I envy you having your son there with you. Mine is nearly a continent away now. Trent and i were on the same page with apple and green label. A wild turkey one would be fun given your affinity of rare breed.
LOL! OF is my go to and obsessed with OF SBBS bottles. So good. I still can never get the banana notes everyone talks about. BUT, for the next one, you should do a Sagamore Rye selection out of a grouping of ryes. Then after that, a Redbreast selection out of a bunch of Irish whiskeys.
Just wanted to write and say how much I’m enjoying your content; such a great channel! I even put together your lemonade, strawberry, jalapeño + tequila cocktail last night and looking forward to trying it today. Happy 4th of July from a neighbour to the north 🇨🇦!!
I liked the video, I hated the title of the video. You gave away the ending??? Can we guess the bottle or something like that maybe? Still fun stuff, cheers & have a great 4th of July.
@@paulkukiel3725 I have no idea, lol, I thought I replied into the general, but must have hit under your reply by accident, either way, have a great 4th of July, my bad.
Would ya'll consider doing a Japanese bourbon tasting? I know nothing about them but hear great things. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks guys! LOVE your show!
It’s all relative: I went to 20 and 50 reunions. They were both fun. I opened a 1920 to compare it to a bottle of Representative and at least for a day, prefer the Representative.
Sounds like this might have been the 3rd show for the Day!!😜🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤷♂️ Secondary thought, on the next crazy vs,,, first guess right gets 3 points for being correct, 2nd guess correct gets 2 points, 3rd guess (if needed) gets 1 point,,, and if there is a 4th and someone guessed wrong the entire lineup,,, they loose a point!!🤷♂️
Have you guys ever done a blind tasting on just Toasted Barrel bourbon? I'd like to try a few, but I'd love to hear your opinions on some before I spend the money.
I have a buddy that has of 1887 and I can’t see the 30$ difference over of100 My shelf keeps the 1910-1920 and 100 and nobody ever complains when I pour OF.
Kurt, as soon as you nosed C and said green apple, I thought you had it…. Cinnamon sugar. Was positive you had it… then you called out a dank note…. That’s the banana… darn, stop second guessing yourself buddy…… you got this….
Love the video's keep them comming 'Merica!!! Your backstop on your bar is fabulous and as a fellow tradesman with a nerdy son (sorry Trenton but not really) whom I love so much I can so relate. Happy 4th guys!
