That's a good point!! They came internationally so I understand wanting to make sure they're well protected, but, it seemed like they don't have a seperate packaged set for the SET vs the individual ones. It would be nice if they had the set packaged up with less plastic for those that order that vs the individual brushes!

The thing is it's a claim. There's no proof to back it up. I can get products made in China and throw that same claim to my followers and make a bundle. It's suspect there's not more info about where it's made, materials etc outside of her word or her paid helpers like these videos.

I've been eyeing Polina's brush set for so long, but the shipping cost, the taxes, and the currency difference made it way out of my budget 😭

Those brushes are really great ! I agree it's a little bit overpriced. I have used synthetic watercolors brushes for years.The ones I use are the Da Vincy spin synthetic 488 series. They are vegan ^^ but way cheaper that the Polina ones, even tough It depends where you buy them I suppose.I tried to look them up but any webshop I found is importing them from Europe so it's quite pricey but in France they retail for around 12€ for size 0, 1 and 15€ for size 2 and 3. However I feel like being "vegan" is only a marketing thing to justify the price. I personally stopped using natural bristles brushes because of the cruelty and also because it's hella expensive. They do seem to perform very well but I think you're paying also the "brand" and the "vegan" promo with it. Based on what I found for the Polina set, they are made by an "European top brand" in Germany. I'm pretty sure it's the same manufacturer as the Da Vinci spin synthetic. I'm saving up myself to get the 488 series because it's still quite pricy, like around 50$ for 3 brushes Still expensive ! those super pointy watercolor brushes are never cheap ahaha ! but still not as expensive as the "branded" ones. Thanks for reviewing them !! :)

sadly a lot of davinci brushes like the casanea 498 does not hold his shape - its not flipping back its original shape. thats really annoying.

Polina doesn't disclose this anywhere afaik, so it's an educated guess but I'm pretty sure the company making these for her is *Da Vinci* a german brush manufacturer. Not to be confused with the american watercolor paint maker :D

Yes, most likely manufactured by Da Vinci. In which case I'd like to propose to have a look at the Casaneo line. One of the finest Vegan brushes out there.

Fyi, there are lots of small brush making companies in Germany, actually most of them in the same area where DaVinci is located, around Nürenberg. Brush making has a long tradition in that area. Many of these companies produce "white label" brushes, where they add any branding the customer wants. It would be easy to imagine that one of these companies produces these brushes. I really enjoy your reviews Alice. I’m not at the stage yet with my water-colouring where I can justify buying these brushes lol, but I really enjoy listening to you talk about art products. It’s clear you are experienced and knowledgeable about the subject and you always understand what your audience wants to know about a particular product. Such a beautiful piece! Those brushes seems worth every cent. Now I’m saving for something else, but I saved the Etsy store for future. I have so many brushes collected over the years, but I’ve noticed I’m always using my 2 brushes which costed almost 50$ each. So expensive brushes are for me worth saving for. Thanks for the review ! One plastic packaging for each brush? in most stores there are individual brushes on the shelf without additional plastic packaging around them. So that would be a KO criterion for me, there are a lot of individual brushes without extra plastic packaging.

They're shipped internationally, I don't know how you would ship them without packaging but I was surprised they didn't have a package that the set was in instead it was all the individual brushes. So there's a way to save packaging on the set for sure!

I enjoy watching you create your videos and artworks! I had a set of quill brushes that I used for calligraphy, I ruined them by leaving them in water and they just came apart! I have not wanted to invest in a new set. I have been very happy with the Mimik brand for my watercolor paintings they have synthetic squirrel as well as synthetic kolinsky brushes! I do wonder if you have tried them? Keep creating and sharing your art journey and Please take care of yourself out there in the Rockies!

When she first came out with them I think it was 30 for 3 the rigor wasn’t a part of them then I don’t think, I should’ve got them then I’ve thought about it forever to use em for gouache they seem like nice synthetic brushes

Purchased them a few months ago with 20% off and so far they are really keeping up all the claims! Love them ❤️ Only downside for me: they are produced in Germany, distributed from Australia and sent back to me to Switzerland 😬 still feeling a bit guilty, but I’m really a fan! 😅

those brushes seem really nice omg! im a sucker for brushes. but idk lately ive been thinking about how these types of items are usually extremely high in price and it makes me sad bc i dont and will probably never have that kind of money to spare and i really wish i could support peoples businesses...

They are so good!! But definitely on the higher end of the price range so I know they're not in everyone's budget 😭 but there's loads of ways to support people without spending money - you commenting just helped support me without spending any money and that's AMAZING!! Honestly just supporting and commenting is such a good way to support businesses and creators! (And I will always strive to include a variety of cost options on my channel, from the $$$$ to the $!)

@@bettinaceciliasilveira5773 Actually no, synthetic doesn’t always guarantee something is vegan. Synthetic brushes can legally contain up to 2% animal hair. Synthetic brushes also often use animal glue products and bindings. So not only is your comment extremely rude, it’s also ill informed.
