There are too many, but it is the government’s fault. In the last couple of years Canada accepted 500k student immigrants, about 250k were from India. The other 250k were from different countries. The Canadian government has made no effort to assimilate them, so they act as if they are India, which stokes resentment from locals. In addition, they practice discriminatory hiring practices - hiring only Indians, when you confront them about it, they say you’re being racist but when in fact they are the ones being racist by hiring only Indians. Stoking more resentment. A lot of their student visas are set to expire, but the Canadian has given them an extension which in turn will give them more points to get their PR cards. Prolonging the current housing shortage. I believe everyone deserves a fair opportunity, but the Canadian government has given preference to a country that is clearly undermining it to a point where they are carrying out assassinations on Canadian soil. The assassins came here on student visas. The current Canadian government is ruining the cultural fabric of this country. Stephen Harper was a great prime minister after all.
The part where he said Indians will only hire other Indians is so true. Last year, I was trying to get a security guard job in Mississauga at a company called Flash Security. The interviewer was Punjabi. I literally saw recent immigrants from India who could hardly speak any English get a job easily at the company, whereas I, a Canadian citizen (born in Pakistan and came to Canada when I was 5 years old, essentially grew up here my whole life), who speaks perfect English, is educated here, and understands how society works here, couldn't get a job at the company. I've never had this issue with other ethnicities.

Being coming from India 32 years ago, I find new Indian do not know manners to say Thanks or Sorry and expert in cutting the line in the queue, DO NOT hold door for someone . They should not be allowed to travel outside Brampton unless they learn manners and how to live in civilized world. I do understand in India it is jungle rule. that women ranting about that stores only hiring indians is so funny. she has a genuine point. i rarely see employees who are not Indian working at retail, fast food, customer service, and delivery jobs. it is essentially a racial bias to indians.
They are exhausting social safety nets like housing and food banks that were created for and by Canadians who need a little bit of help from time to time, as well as have taken all the entry level jobs. Young Canadians cannot find work for the life of them unless they’re a visible minority, my son being one of them. Go to Walmart, or any grocery store chain location, any fast food chain location, security job, retail, customer service, gas stations, delivery jobs etc. they’re 90% Indian and the rest are black. How is that diversity when European Canadians are not being included AT ALL! My son and I have handed out hundreds of resumes and he’s been rejected to all of them. He even stopped saying what race he was but his name still sounds very European so we’re sure he’s being screened because of these things. The discrimination against white Canadians is very real in 2024 and it needs to stop!

YES!! International students are using their student status to stay in Canada. After graduation they are SUPPOSED to go back to their homeland. It’s NOT just Indians, it’s ALL students!!!
Trudeau government issued work visas to all college / university grads. Indians used this loophole to immigrate to Canada... this is the reason why 80% of all new immigrants in 2023 were Indians

I live next to a house that has 10 Indians in it..5 upstairs and 5 in the basement..every month some move out and more move in..i cant enjoy my backyard as these guys are alwsys outside yelling into their phones..there is one small brown garbage bin and 3 large recycling bins..those blue bins are full of garbage not recycling..they dont recycle..i called 311 and made a complaint about the rooming house and the bin contamination. A guy will come in 4 days to investigate..none of them speak English
I also live in Brampton, in an attached house. The other house attached to ours has multiple young Indian men staying there. At night, just under my bedroom window (Their front door) They will talk loudly, boistorously, until well after 11pm. Same with our backyard or front yard during the day, its loud boistorus voices from multiple people. My point is, they have little respect for their neighbors.

Happened to my friends kid (Asian, canadian born college student) looking for pt work. Applied for a job at Tim Hortons at middlefield and steeles. Everyone working there is Indian and spoke their native tongue to eachother. She was not even granted an interview. Guess they only hire their own kind.
@patrickv824 - yup. I applied a job at Uline and had an interview 2 months ago. And a woman was Indian and she chose another guy similar to hers. Why should a foreigner come to Canada to make big money at Uline with no English or skills? I speak English and I have skills. It's BS

I've lived in Brampton my whole life. Nothing against Indians, and have several close friends that are Indian (also born/raised here like me) My main problem with this whole thing is just the lack of diversity nowadays. Growing up I was used to seeing a good mixture of races and cultures. But these last few years if I go out anywhere in Brampton I'm not exaggerating when I say it feels like it's 90% Indian. Like any other nationality you'll have the good and bad. Again, my problem is not that they are Indian... It's just why are there SO many? Where did everybody else go? Like another person commented, are there no other countries that have international students? Even where I work right now. I swear they're only hiring Indians. We got like 8 new people in my department last week, and I was very disappointed (but not surprised) when I realized that, once again, they're ALL Indian. Like damn. I'm not against befriending them, but it does take more effort with the language barrier and just overall differences... They can all easily bond, relate, and speak Punjabi with one another. Like when can I get someone I can relate to (or just DIFFERENT) Even as I type this comment I'm surrounded by BARE Indians inside a Popeyes😑. It's crazy.
Also why is it ONLY indians from Punjab? This is the farthest possible thing from diversity. Even other indians from different states feel unwelcomed because its all Punjabi.. Why???
I was working at a shell station fir 10 years until i moved. I had amazing friendly coworkers and boss back in my small town. Even the customers threatened to never come back when i left loool. I apply to shell in new place, boss knows this boss and gives me golden recommendation, so they hire me as the only non indian wirker in all 5 of their stations. At the first station i was placed, one indian man tried to FRAME me on my second day to have me removed. He worked after me, nit with me. He began calling the manager at midnight wen he got there and lying about things i didnt do. "the coffee is weak, you mudt have put thr cleaning chemical in there and youre poisoning customers!!" (the coffee filter sometimes bows in when its at night and we only make one bag, brcause the machine is meant for 2 plus) I thought it was because he hated women, but the other indian guys equally comolrtely ignored me and took advantage of me. Once i came in to work and was almodt hit by a truck. I said "omg!! I almost just died!!" i was freaking out. Indian dude doesn't even look at me, and walks away. Thats how they all treated me. Other Indian guy would talk to a coworker who waa off the clock (same guy who tried to frame me for anything he could think) for two hours everyday in punjabi while i did both of our jobs. And they only spoke punjabi at work. It made me extremely isolated and depressed to be a min wage worker..
I am a Canadian Naturalized since 2010, originaly from Algeria, landed as a qualified Immigrant that went through an immigration selective process based on qualifications and high level education degrees! I am very disapointed to see myself surounded by Indians fron india everywhere, at work, shoping stored, food stores ! I feel I don't recognize Canada I choose to be part of its citizens! I am planning to exit Canada as I don't want to live in country that is becoming a province of India!

I feel bad for Indian born people living in Australia, England, Canada, and the USA. Their parents worked hard and they know that these so-called international students take advantage of everything. This is not paradise there are responsibilities when living in a country you have to care and respect the environment.
International student pays twice more than us for university . They are the ones taken advantage off not the inverse . How do you think natives felt when European got here we helped them survived than they turned around and took the land . Now white peoples are scared to become the new minority ?

We are far too tolerant and permissive as a society and it is being seen as a weakness by our new arrivals. We have lost control of the quantity and quality of immigration and now we are seeing the results
My opinion is that if you come from another country you have no right to use up the resources such as food banks that are for Canadian citizens. If you come hear you must be able to support yourself because I do not want to pay these high taxes my whole life for someone that is hear for a short time to be draining off it. No matter where you are coming from you should do your homework to see if you can afford to support yourself wile you are hear for the time being. From what I have seen in interviews of these students it sounds like they think they have the right stay hear prominently after they are done school. Sorry but that's not how you get citizenship, someone needs to explain that part to them.

99% of Them Only come from One state of INDIA. That is PUNJAB. I am from INDIA and every family has 1 or 2 members living there in Canada. And also there are some agencies here in punjab who approach mid class familes and sell them the dream of Canada and how there will be everything fixed once they land in canada with all fake promises. The agents make so much money from them. And millions are getting trained here for english so they will be going canada in future. These people are very helpless here in Punjab.
Basically...Canada is always always always providing tons of benefits for new immigrants at the expense of old immigrants. The whole point of new immigrants was to sustain a growing country. Not to take more resources away. So the system is broken and needs to be revamped.

Its sad because people with disabilities often rely on these jobs. Where i worked, a gas station, 90% of ppl there were disabled and only able to work very part time, but disability idnt enough to live on alone. Im worried for the disabled people that rely on those jobs.

I grew up in Scarborough all my life but ive lived in the westend for the last 5 years , I went to scarbz for a week recently to visit my family and while I travelled around on the ttc it was kinda crazy I saw 3 other white people the entire week I was there 😂 It doesn't bother me but it was quite shocking how much it's changed in the last 3 years

What I don’t like is immigrants who remain secular and refuse to integrate - and that part is on the immigrant NOT our Government for a change… and I say that as an immigrant to Canada in the 90’s. Now a citizen. There is absolutely no excuse to live here 30 years and still not speak a stitch of either official language OR insist on the continuation of practises that are illegal here.
Not just in Canada same things happening in Europe Australia and New Zealand…. Problem is they come in expecting to receive the golden handshake ( benefits) where citizens have to pay taxes and levies in order to keep other than citizens afloat when an immigrant like myself has to pay my way and not complain about it. I never demanded anything from my naturalisation… government need to look after the citizens before looking after students that whine about things they should be looking after themselves. If you can pay your tuition and flights you should cover yourself when you are studying what makes you think an over worked system has to look after you … this is a decision made by students to study so why are citizens suffering at the expense of people who expect instead of contributing to society as a whole…. As an indian i will say that white Canadians to an certain extent are right. I mean i am not up for the racism part but if someone is going to ur country and doesn't follow the rules then thats not a very nice thing. Punjabi's have a historical connection with canada, a lot of pinjabi's are living in canada for more than 100 or 150 yrs. With time some changed, some didn't, if these dudes are dancing in the streets or getting themselves involved in illegal activities then they have no right to stay in that place. Its always better to keep ur culture within ur self, try to adapt to ur surroundings.
Are you able to qualify where there were Indians, besides the Aboriginals, of course, residing in Canada 150 years ago? I would love to see that data. I have lived in Toronto since 1977 and I could count on one hand the number of south Asians I went to school with from grade 7 to grade 13 and also in my everyday dealings up until about 1990, when they started SLOWLY trickling in. Even in my post graduate studies that started in 1988 until 1992, they were still few and far between. For reference, I am a BLACK Caribbean woman. We did have Caribbean Indians here, but they too were few and far between.
I like Indians the doctor who helped saved my daughter’s life was Indian . At least they are not racist like some other old white doctors in quebec . The white doctor in quebec was letting her die because I am native . So if Indians are here to help us , I welcome them ❤ they are very nice people and respectful.
