Adam's skeptical reaction to Jay's enthusiasm is always fun. Jay is like a four-year old telling his dad (Adam) all about trains and Dad-am is like "yes, that's very cool, we'll go see some trains." It's great and it's one of many reasons why I love you guys :)
Except when it’s about He-Man. Then Adam is the kid, and Jay is the dad. “Did that kick too much ass for you, buddy? Did you like it when that man held that sword?” 😂

I also only watched Gladiator once, when I was in high school. I remember hating Joaquin and the ending, so I never watched it again. lol. This trailer looks so fun though, I guess adult me will have to give it another try.

Hair and makeup really goes a long way. I barely realized it was Joseph Quinn in the stills they've been releasing. Also it's been released the same weekend as the first part of Wicked.
I thought the trailer was great. I don't marketing branching out and using different types of music. The original movie's trailer had Kid Rock. lol. The movie will not have Jay-Z in it. I can guarantee that.
The rap music kills entirely the damn trailer, which by the way... tells the whole fucking movie in it!! I'll just say, Gladiator is one of those movies that don't need a sequel. It's like making Forrest Gump 2. Nonsense. Visually will be a banger for sure

Two things - it's kind of weird that people are upset at the music selection. Trailer music isn't in the film generally. It kind of mirrors what you have now with fancams where someone will put modern music on a period piece from centuries ago. These things are all over TikTok & Insta - it kind of works on that. But I also think they gave away too much in the trailer.
The only reason I am watching this is for Denzel Washington, who could potentially make Oscar history should he get nominated for this. If nominated, he will become only the 3rd ever male actor (and the 6th person overall) to receive 10 acting nominations. He will tie Sir Laurence Olivier as the 2nd most nominated actor ever and put him only behind 12-time nominee Jack Nicholson.

At this point, big, dumb, and loud is all I really want in a Gladiator sequel-as long as it is also entertaining. Don’t really care if the script is terrible or not. At any rate, I would be hugely disappointed if this movie wasn’t *far* more entertaining than the last Ridley Scott movie I saw in the theater: Napolean. What an absolute pantload of boredom that was.
Why does this movie even need to exist? Hollywood stop being lazy and create something original for once instead of reboots, remakes and sequels no one wants.
"When does it come out?" You just watched the whole movie! 🤣 Movie looks great, but that trailer was questionable. Way too long/too much shown, and a jarring soundtrack at the end.
Thumb up and down is a bad interpretation, when the populous and the Emperor give a thumb up was for the throat, but pop culture continue to prologue this historical myth.
The thing is, I'm afraid they used a Nero or Caligula typ of emperor for this movie, while in reality their reign was a few hundred years before the events of the first Gladiator and this is already a little bit iffy imho, but we will wait and see. If they stay in a more or less historical timeline the emperors would have been Septimus Severus and his son Caracalla and neither were as insane as the two mentioned above. I know it is onyl a movie but things like a massive historical inacuracy is a pet peeve of mine, sorry.
The tone of the movie doesn't fit an historical epic like the first one, it feels kind of cheap like a "clash of titan" level Z movie , it feels off because of some cheapness and having over the top exagerrated action. (rhino) this tries to top the first one in all the unecessary sections, and for all the bad reasons.
