For the record , in 5 years I have never seen a boat layout that looked more accommodating and favorable to family living than your current Privilege's saloon and room layout.

What Keith said is important. What value does a new boat add to your life? Your current boat is set up how you like it. You could spend money refitting your current boat that would be more economical. The new boats with the rig so much higher will be a significant loss in performance. Spending more time going from A to B probably isn’t something you want in a new boat.

Yep. Motel Six contractor grade cabinetry prevails. 'T ain't nautical. Thus disappointed I am, but not surprised. Despite his piratical demeanor, Captain Jack, Keith ain't. He has a lot of engineer in him. He installs, fixes and maintains, underwater lights, watermakers, AC units, GPS's and engines. Nerdy he is. You know, the kinda sailor one need on a plastic boat with electrizicals. Not surprisingly, he is disinclined to acquiesce to the request for manual winches, sweeps and a beautiful varnished wooden decor. Alas, nauticality dispares. Plastic it is. Gee whiz, gosh golly and shucks. What's the point of breedin' minions if ya cain't train 'em ta polish the brightwork! 😁So sayeth Admiral Barbosa.

Glory, you are absolutely correct about receiving and sending "Snail Mail" It is sweet but most of all intentional, I have saved every correspondence, letters, Birthday cards, Fathers Day cards etc. that I have ever received from my children (I am 73). I even have most of the letters my Parents exchanged during WWII. Its all family legacy and priceless. To me anyway.

Wow! Did not realize how the new HH Gone with the Wynns boat is a Hobbit Boat. But those are the sacrifices for performance. When they are walking around they look so normal and the boat spacious. How tall is Keith? Glory, go sing in squares, cafes, churches w Finn as your guitarist. In an Italian restaurant (US) My old roommate just did some improv Opera. A very rich couple told the waitress, could you ask her to sing some more and I will pay for their dinner. There were 4 of them eating w wine Sing in any empty church. Share that blessed voice! Blessings

A few spares fender bladders is never a bad idea. Good thing about the bladders is...if you poke a small hole it it, you can pull it out, put a tire patch on it and shove it back in the cover.

I would go see one for myself. All boats come with compromises... I doubt there are many ~44ft cats that sail as well as the HH44... But a used Outremer 45 probably does. I would check out one of those as well. A used one is probably less money compared ot a new HH. And the Outremer 45 was 'good enough' for Sailing La Vagabonde...

There's something magical about receiving snail mail. Aka postcard or letter. It means the person has taken the time to both think of you and type more than a few words. There is a lot of thought that goes into the process of writing it and sharing wherever they are.. or whatever they are going through. Love it :)

Another excellent production. Glory, it's even better to receive snail mail that is written in cursive. Handwriting makes it much more personal. Typewritten letters are still impersonal. One Canadian to another 😀

Snail mail is the best. I write hand written letters to a friend for over 25 years old. We even send printed photos to one another with our letters. I love old typewriters and think that’s also a better than email.

Adding value to your life. Very subjective idea. A deep dive into pros and cons of different boat layouts and features for future boat owners would be nice. And for the love Keith, put a rectangular sink in for Renee. 9” deep with a tall faucet. It’s a simple upgrade that greatly improves quality of life.

Snail mail written in cursive is the best and most personal letter that means much to me that I even save them once I get one. Shocks me how few that know how to read "Spaghetti" but cursive is fairly simple and very meditative thing to do.

they don't need a new boat, it defeats the whole purpose............. they need to remember the BIG House and high dollar lifestyle!! Go back and revisit Episode 1/ 2 when you Sold everything for your dream of escaping it all which you have successfully done!! don't kiss a** to Privilege for a boat thats not one bit better than what you currently have!!

@@zolitariglussey6302 Ummm, except the new 580 is WAY better than their old boat. Better layout, lots better storage, much brighter and more spacious and will definitely sail better. (Not that Keith cares much about that.) The 580 is actually closer to 62' in length, while the 585 is just shy of 56'.

Same. Like a duvet. LOL. She was all like, it's super easy but didn't demonstrate it that we saw. But even if it's a hassle, it opens up room on their boat when the new ones are deflated. They aren't going into marinas that much. They use the tender.

To answer the question about correspondence - I am old school for sure. Sometimes I hand-write letters and cards. Most of the time; however, I type them (using MS Word (I wish I had an old DOS version of Word Perfect that would work on our computers...)). I love to receive (non-business) hand written and/or typed personal correspondence via snail mail. I still remember as a young child back in the 1960s how my grandmother pitched a fit when first class postage stamps increased in price to five cents. She had three sisters, each living in different cities. So they all wrote to each other every week. She and my grandfather bought stamps by the roll (100 stamps). This was back when long distance telephone calls were expensive (thanks, Ma Bell).
