I think there needs to be a wider debate regarding coping mechanisms and vices. I think that a lot of people overlook the use of weed because it doesn’t have rapid deterioration effects of other ‘harder’ drugs. I also think there is a big conversation to be had about males (especially young black men) falling under the radar, overindulgence in pleasure and reckless behaviour is generally an indication of a problem and a cry for help but in our young men we see it as ‘lad’ behaviour. Over drinking, promiscuous behaviour and angry outbursts are so casually associated with a sort phase or right of passage. The idea of feeling numb is a concept that scares me and is dangerous, your bodies are meant to feel emotions and be dealt with, using ANY vice only suppresses negative feelings it doesn’t eradicate them. Please people look after your mental and your physical.

Yeh for real. He is my favorite rapper but because of him I started smoking weed and tried other drugs. Simply because he did it. 🤦🏽♂️ I know better now though.

I think poet is ignoring the fact that many people especially young like lil peep in question have no real passion or goals or aspirations or kids to provide for, when people are really lost like a lot of young people are or a lot of older people in bad situations they would not consciously care about their health as much
I know this video was from over a year ago but I hope someone scolded Poet for moving the conversation from a his friend's sister's suicide (12:43) to "I feel like it's all in the mind. I reduced my weed consumption". The conversation could have been an interesting conversation about the supposed prescription drug epidemic but instead we started discussing one man's weed consumption. This is why you should never go to a friend for help but seek advice and guidance from a registered professional.
Drug addiction will happen in areas that are high in poverty and unemployment, I.e undervalued communities that are not equally served. Another important point is that addiction is pushed in this society through all forms of advertising and private companies continue to profit from people's increased tendencies to adddiction.
This comment is long but bare with me please. This topic in particular institutes a very meaty discussion because there are so many factors to consider; that most of us actually don’t even take into account. Mental illnesses have increased so dramatically over the past 10 years because I feel a lot of people’s upbringings and circumstances are somehow coming to the forefront. If you look at a lot of people who are dealing with mental illness, they struggled a whole heap during their childhood, but hid their struggle during that time - bottled it up even. I believe social media for one, has the ability to trigger people’s negative core beliefs who hid these emotions when they were young. And exploring social media brings out those old emotions, triggering negative responses within and sends people affected into a downward spiral. Then we you really look into how our brain functions and how the WiFi network is interfering with the brains capacity to coherently think; this leaves those severely affected by mental illness to make bad decisions, even though in their heads it makes logical sense. Drug use/abuse, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts - these are all symptoms of our neural networks coming under attack via WiFi without us knowing it, coupled with the triggering aspect of social media. Might sound crazy right now but I guarantee in a few decades times, maybe sooner, studies will show how the global WiFi network caused permanent damage to our brain functions… Its all linked. The only studies we see so far are linked to how carrying a mobile phone in your pocket can lead to cancer, but I reckon its even more damaging to the human brain over time.
At the end of the day these days when u go school they tell you exactly why drugs are bad and how they harm your body so we can all make decisions for ourselves. Like poet says you need to have mental strength to say no to things when they are offered to you. Dont mean to offend anyone but that's my 2 cents still!
+A _ How so? People know what sleeping pills or cough syrup are for and how to use them... Doctors also tell you how to take them. I stand behind the mental strength point, learning to deny yourself of things is a gift and it starts when we are young.

Weed may not directly be linked to death, but the stuff these folks be smoking be making folks loose their minds. Not everyone, but we are all built differently chemically. What works for one and may not result in fatal consequences, might not be the case for another. I wouldn't risk it personally.
I haven’t really heard much UK music for glorifying drug use as much as drug dealing. In America we seem to be more of the drug attics now. It’s almost like the dealers become addicts. For instants, you have future talking about moving bricks and trapping, and now in 2016 and up he’s not the dealer anymore he’s the attic. LOL
