What a cool and sunny family! While the young Bulgarians are leaving abroad for a better future you are building your better future in our country. Welcome and be healthy and happy!
@@the_phoenixprojectdon't buy Heinz for example look for Bulgarian brands they're always cheaper & better even foreign brands manufactured in BG are cheaper. Don't go to foreign chains go to Bulgarian chains every city has few of their stores they're always cheaper.
As a Bulgarian I can say our government/administrative offices are awful, the level of service is poor, and clerks are quite rude. In general, customer service is lacking, even if you're a paying customer. It's nice now that most things can be done online so you don't have to deal with them. But it's just something you gotta get used to, and realize it's not personal, they are just grumpy and mean like that.
Congrats on the second house purchase - your parents will love it - exciting times ahead!!! 🎉🥂Thank you for sharing your adventures every week - so uplifting to watch in grey old Blighty - I can’t wait to get back to BG!!🤗
It's certainly the top end of grocery shopping but some of the English brands are very expensive here! We prefer to get most of our groceries locally at the market ❤️
I admire you! I really like your mindset, your values, your kindness, the trust you’ve built. Nice, healthy lifestyle for you and your kids. I also like how motivated you are. You don’t waste your time sitting and waiting for the government to fix your issues. You’re hard working, intelligent and find solutions. Bulgarians need to watch your videos and realise that we don’t live in a communist country anymore. And they should stop abounding their homes cus “there’s no jobs, no anything”. Can’t wait to watch you on Channel 4 ❤
I think you have nettles in your yard. Nettles make good soup, and once when I was in Bosnia and Herzegovina I even drank nettle juice and it was very refreshing.
I am in Scotland pursuing a big carreer. I am waiting to find my brittish husband, who I will then bring back to the homeland, and we will follow on your footsteps. Нямам търпение! Живота на село е най- спокоен ❤!
I've actually been in the Kapinovsky Monastery for a friend's birthday party. People were swimming in the little lake near the waterfalls. I guess that would be nice in the summer heat.
Hello beautiful family and welcome to Bulgaria. I recommend you not to buy from Kaufland and the other big chain stores or at least not everything. Everything there is terrible and full of chemicals, it is not healthy especially for your beautiful children. There are many manufacturers the villages of homemade clean vegetables, fruits, meat and dairy products in Bulgaria. Very clean and without chemicals in them. They are better than the so-called "bio" foods. Good luck and good health.
Yes we try our best not to buy from Kaufland haha! To be honest, I only buy my shampoo bars and some things for the kids because they cannot have dairy products. We prefer to shop at the local market and in nearby stores 😊
You are in such a beautiful place. Well done on the purchase of a the next door property - lots of potential there. Love outbuildings - so handy to have for storage. I'm way south of you guys - other side of the mountains. It's pretty cool here again. Sunshine ran away. You are building a magical life for you and your kids - you are teaching them the important things of life. Wonderful to have found your channel.
Thank you! Yes, we are glad for the rain. We were worried about how dry the summer would be and the garden would have suffered. Thank you for your lovely comment! ❤️
Hello! I just found your channel läßt night and cant stop watching. You just grew on me! İ am from Veliko Tarnovo, but moved to Wales. I do know how hard it is to live in the bulgarian country side - everything groß from everywhere, sometimes it is very cold or very hot but i do know it is worthy. I just wanted to say - as a mother who also rase her child alone in foreigh country it is very very difficult. So, you probably know but i think it is worth mentioning the childcare in Bulgaria is free, like completely free and i have friends in VELIKO Tarnivo and I know there are good burseries. I understand you want them to grow out doors but a day or two will give mama some time, because Mama is also a person, plus they will make friends. Let me know if you want me to find more info for you. All the best guys! ❤️😊
*NOT Burseries - nursery. Plus 8t is true, food is expensive, but because you have a house your neighbours will show you how to preserve food for the Winter, it manageable. But äh, you im sure already know this!
Bless ya I’m so happy for the residency cards finally u got em! Anddddd do a card for Kaufland!!!! Often you can get stuff half price! Like truly half price 🖤
You speak so cute in Bulgarian 🙃 - времето е много горещО with an o in the end, still very good. Kaufland has imported products and logically more expensive. Congrats for the renovation and 2nd property. Are Andy's parents moving to the new house?
Some friends in the next village have had their chickens and ducks killed by pine martens. The pen was fox/coyote proof but they didn't factor in about pine martens.
Good idea, wish you,all the best.Could you not use the branches for winter in a fireplace?I used to save for winter.Where will children go to school?I enjoy learning about moving to Bulgaria,am considering but eed more information where most Expats live.
LOL @ the girls, and can imagine the frustration but they are hilarious and were obviously trying to prove your point as you filmed Laura. Ooh nice new road! I wonder how long that will last. Did Ant's mum & dad have to set up a company to buy the property? Congrats on getting your 1 year residency.
Yes they think it's all a big laugh 😂 They bought the house through our company so I suppose technically we own it for now until they get here and we sign it over.
@@alexgee248 the company is not a lot because you don't submit any income (if you aren't using it for self employed purposes). You can complete your company taxes for about 40-60lev (£20-£40 approx)
@@the_phoenixproject That's cheap, in the country I live in, the paperwork can cost 2000-3000 EUR per year even just for a holding company with zero activity. Thanks for the reply.
Hello We are a Bulgarian family who have been living in the United Kingdom for 15 years. I want to ask you what you think about Bulgaria and what is better there and what is worse? Thank you.❤
Hello sunny couple,just see ur vids..brill stoff,where a u in Bulgaria?I just got back from England,after 22 Years?!🤣.We might can gett in touch.Wishing u good luck,is worthy.Cant spell well,sos.Hot23,lol,Sumer here girly it will come to 40,any way sending huggs❤
How did your bulgarian get so good? Do you go to classes? Also quick remark use the RU-vid editor to cut out the part with your Residency cards, your personal identification number is on the back so its okay, but the ID number is on the top right, without all the info its almost impossible to exploit but still I would advise to cut that part of the video. Sorry for your experience at the immigration office, your brave to go on your own😄I could never. The food prices are just the rich doing price speculation similar to how it was at the start of the war in Ukraine. 1L vegetable oil was 6lev(3euro) now its around 1euro. The whole reason why there is delay in Bulgaria joining te euro zone is its own politicians avoiding it. While the prices being the same as in the UK is okay bc Bulgaria does not use foreign cheap labor like the UK does.
Aw thank you!! It's terrible 🤣 I have weekly lessons, I speak to my neighbours, and I try to speak only Bulgarian to Bulgarians! I also use apps to support my learning (uTalk and Mondly). Thanks for the advice! I will edit the video ❤️😊
The house price for houses like this are still cheap. But the renovation is not. I can know this we are living her 7 years here. Also for central heating system you need a chimney.
You built the chicken koop wrong and the foxes and Coyotes will get under it and eat them. Make sure the floor is solid so the predators cannot dig under because they will.
They can't dig under it because there are two types of fence dug down into the ground with rocks covering the top. It's impossible for them to get under. So far it's been fine but we will see!
Bulgarian houses aren't built the same as UK houses. Most have a natural stone foundation that moves with the earth. If the stone foundation looks solid and there's not too much movement then they are usually all good. Anthony's Dad is a builder by trade, so he checked the houses.
@@the_phoenixproject I was more concerned about moisture than movement. I am expecting there will be no hydroisolation/waterproofing from the ground at houses of this age. Did you experience any issue during winter?
Because that's all our visa entitles us to. As non-EU citizens, we can't apply for longer. We can only renew the residency cards every year for five years. It's very awkward 😅
@@the_phoenixprojectit’s not massively better after I’ve read. It’s then every 5 years, then every 10 thereafter! We can’t ever actually be settled which is a shame
Did you not do it when they were fast tracking them after Brexit ? I only ask as mine runs out this year i only got 4 years as my health card only had 4 years on it at the time. Just wandering where i stand to renew will i only get 1 year or 5 years ? Thanks for replying.
I don't think I can answer this one! Everyone will tell you that Bulgarian houses are so different across the country. It's difficult to say! You can buy a renovation project for under £10,000 though, easily.
Welp... I am gonna write a comment that might be a little bit odd. I don`t want you to take it in any way negative... Your combined living force as a unit is starting to give me eye sores. Now I did think of elaborating a bit further... but I were only gonna embarrass myself more. Kind of think of me *itching and moaning. Anyways I have a bit more to write... which came into my mind in the later portions of the video with the 2nd house and is a bit of a continuation of my initial impression that I have just shared. This property seems a bit of a "life force" drain. (I don`t want you to take this "term" I am using too seriously, is just a figure of speech, I assume you are getting what I mean). A bit of a large bite if you will. I think it took a lot of it`s previous owners and look at the condition they left it in still... Now of course Spring do make nearly everything look better... all that green and stuff, almost charming even, but the frames of the state inside... You probably will overcome it thou and will end up part of those eye blisters generating material :P. (I think blisters is a bit too much, so I avoided initially with using ~sores... but I also kind of wanted to type that word as well.) Once again, no actual bad feelings, just fooling around in the comments and with the words.
I think saying our living force is giving you eye sores is a little bit offensive. The project is a renovation project for Anthony's parents alongside ours.
