but how intensely were you *"roTTing"* for him ?? Like... Just a few brown spots here and there on the skin or straight-up tissue decomposition with your meats dripping off ?? :D .
as far as i can remember i have seen one draw one time. flash and somebody. they mined out, and flash hovered his buildings and bcs in the middle of the map and then started rearranging his pc, signifying that he was done and wanted a draw and to go next.
Even though this game didnt end the way i wanted it to, this was still a fantastic game, i just love seeing builds that are so far off meta being played out and for it to be so close too.
Hey Artosis. I love SCBW and watch all your casts. Ty. Suggestion: add a small timer showing time elapsed. This would allow serious students the ability to time everything (pause, rewind, etc).
This video feels more natural and closer to matches i would see daily back in the day when i used to play BW on dial up. Down to the wire. I am wondering what the terran player could have done to win that. A bunker? Bring the wraiths back home to defend? Build a second CC? I notice from all these casts videos these guys always try and get a second CC up almost ASAP. I can see why now. These mineral patches are so small compared to BGH. What a crazy game. If he didn’t have those lings and managed to keep his base alive the terran player would’ve won for sure
Damn, BishOp cut SCVs at 16? I'd love to see an aggressive wraith build that also manages to have an economy. Wraiths are fine versus mutas, but they struggle when you're down 1 gas vs 2.
Precisely, he probably should've still tried, but he had no means of stopping his opponent from owning the ground and slaying every worker they find. He wouldn't be able to kill the lings fast enough.
RT cast a game with Mihu awhile back, where his wraiths friggin demolished whichever Zerg he was playing against. The wraith micro was 'Snow level', but we don't see that kind of play too often
Leta and Light are the only two players that really come to mind for Wraith micro, but Light is able to macro much better than Leta while microing wraiths. I could see some wraith shenanigans on Troy during this ASL
He'd completely lost ground control and any chance of catching up to his opponent once he had to lift his buildings. He wouldn't be able to kill lings fast enough to protect SCVs and he needed his wraiths to dismantle the enemy base or he'd just make more mutas and win.
Well, he could have builded 1 scv on the low ground island and play from there, Soulkey had only 1 muta. By the time Soulkey can attack that Island position he is well defended and gets is eco back on.
Not really. It is as hard as it gets to micro that, bit on top of that, he didn't had a unit far out on the map to group with the wraits so they can stack togheder like we do with the mutas... and u can't control what goes on the sides.
@@amai2307 I think that when he started to attack the Hatchery, he only had 1 scv that was not paired with the wraiths because lings were hunting for it.
Ow I see now. When he started to attack the hatchery, he started to build a depo with his scv at 7oclock. he had it paired with the Wraiths, but when the SCV finished the Depo, it just come to where the Wraiths were and then he started to take dmg from the spores :D.
"Are wraiths better than mutalisks?" It's a bit like asking "are corsairs better than mutas" -- corsairs outright beat mutas in a head to head fight, but mutas can, y'know, attack ground. That's kind-of an important detail. Wraiths obviously can attack ground, but they have a much better air to air attack than they have a ground attack, so yeah, they can fight most other air units. Including mutas. Yes, I know in the video Artosis says mutas "destroy" wraiths in a heads up fight but it's honestly pretty close. Same HP (120 to 120). 1 Wraith actually out-damages 1 Muta when they fight. Despite wraiths dealing "half" their normal damage to mutas it's still more (1 wraith will deal 10.83 DPS to a muta, 1 muta will deal 7.14 DPS without glaive bounces, 10.31 DPS with glaive bounces--the practical damage for mutas being probably somewhere between no glaive bounces and all glave bounces, maybe around 9 DPS, cause glaives can bounce onto useless targets like buildings, glaives reduce the benefits of focus fire, etc). The raw damage and HP values are still slightly in the mutas' favour because mutas are slightly cheaper than wraiths (slightly less minerals), but it's very mild, and wraiths have a few other tricks like 5 range and cloak that can be used with micro to get an edge. The problem with wraiths comes from being terrible against ground. Less damage to ground than a muta (even before counting glaive bounces) despite being a more expensive unit. Dies much easier to most ground units (due to mutas being small, wraiths being large, and most ground to air damage being explosive type). But like...if a zerg and a terran agreed to an "honourable air duel" where both sides only built wraiths and mutas. No spores, no turrets, no lings, no marines, etc. Yeah, the Terran would do just fine. The way the zerg won this game is that lings are better than marines, spores are better than turrets, and the wraiths did end up needing to attack ground.
Bishop has just proved it again wraiths don’t fear mutas in a one on one battle. But harder for Terran to switch meta game than Zerg if it doesn’t work out 😅
Bro. Terrans should have a Bunker at the front in every single game. There's literally NO reason to not spend 100 minerals to protect against ling runbys.
Pro builds are so optimized that they'll try to cut corners any chance they get, leading to situations like these. Artosis just had a video a few days ago where ZeLot's guardian rush lost because of 2 valks. If those 2 valks had come out 10 seconds later then ZeLot would've won.
What is up with wraiths? The last time I watched BW they were considered useless and we're only used to snipe carriers and workers. Did the meta evolve and they became more popular?
Not quite, lings lock down most of the map since he ceded ground control. and even starting up again from square 1 safely would lose him the macro game, it was wipe the enemy base with his wraiths or lose the moment he had to lift buildings.
