How I have adapted to getting out and about with a Chronic Illness, Inclusion Body Myositis, that slows you down. Learning to enjoy life and continue living when a muscle disease could get you down. The feelings and emotions of figuring out how to keep on keeping on. Realizing that
communication is always key to keeping things positive and moving forward.

Another great and real video you guys. The reality of IBM is still something I’m learning to deal with. Your comment about being hesitant to use a cane because you felt like once you go there, there’s no going back. 😩I’m there right now. Pride and what other people will think. I’m slowly realizing that it doesn’t matter. You have to keep yourself safe and still try to enjoy the things we like to do. My wife, like Merci, is an amazing support partner. Communication, although sometimes hard with what we’re going they, is key. Great job again you two. Have a great trip to John Hopkins. 🙏👍🏻

Good to see you on RU-vid James! I definitely think you should get your own motorized all terrain scooter! Maybe they make them in “Alaskan Man Camo”. Let me know if you guys start a Go Fund me for that. Blessings you two!

Two things that changed my life around - forearm crutches for shorter outings so I could still get walking and reduce the risk of falling & using a power scooter let me go on longer outings. As I started losing mobility I found that I just stopped doing the things I loved and these tools gave me access to things like shopping and the zoo. Don't be afraid to use tools to help make your life easier, it's better than just sitting at home and watching life pass you by.

So important for us to not just sit at home and let life pass us by!!

I have the tools- cane, rollator, just got a wheelchair but I am still hesitant and holding myself up in my house. 🙁I don’t know how to get over the fear. Thank you for sharing 💚

Thanks so much for this video. Here's to hoping my husband will sit down and watch this. I think he has a very hard time understanding what's happening to me and dealing with it. I was always the one scurrying around. I think he just doesn't know how to process everything that's happened

It is hard as the loved one to really understand what you are going through. As the spouse, I have my struggles too! I will pray your husband will watch. I am praying that it will open up communication between the two of you so you can both understand each other!! Big hugs! - Merci
