What Is The Minority Mindset?
The Minority Mindset has nothing to do with the way you look or what kind of family you're from. It's a mindset.
Give the majority $200 and they will come back with a pair of shoes. Give the minority $200 they will come back with $2,000.
Think from the mindset of a consumer and be the provider, that's the Minority Mindset. Don't be the majority. #FTM #ThinkMinority

You shouldn't be cheap with "FOOD" that's where you start to get health problems. I see a lot of people around me who buy cheap snacks or buy really poor quality food just because it's cheap. Yh you maybe saving in the short term. But, in the long run you're going to get health problems.
@circletech7745
@circletech7745 6 лет назад
To some extent this is true, but this idea has It's own limits. For example I shouldn't go out and buy a $200 orange just because it's $200 and the exact same orange at walmart can be found for 25 cents.

There is a lot of food where price doesn't determine quality. I'm unsure at what exact things you might be thinking of. Buying cheap snacks and junk food on the other hand will give you problems, but I would think you can choose to eat healthy and buy the cheaper stuff instead of the more expensive stuff and be totally fine.

Haha, I bought cheap interior doors and door knobs for my house and shelled out more money for the nicer faucet and drain. Bad enough I had to get a cheap cultured marble sink with a particleboard cabinet, since I needed a specifically-sized sink that wasn't prohibitively expensive. No particleboard for my kitchen, though. I got solid wood cabinets.

I thought it was going to be something about buying products that break down all the time because they're so poorly constructed so you end up paying 3X as much as if you'd bought the slightly more expensive product to begin with. Not what I expected, but good video. I like the idea of bumping up the percentage of the commission if they can sell for above a certain price. However, if I were to buy property, I would want my purchase to be as cheap as possible. You explained how to get more if you're selling, but what incentives can you offer your real estate agent to get the best deal when you're buying? Not just on lowering the price once you've found a property you like, but to get them to suggest/show properties that are the best prices before negotiating even starts in the first place?
@MinorityMindset
@MinorityMindset 6 лет назад
Getting the best price comes down to negotiating, understanding the market, and buying at the right time. If you're buying when everyone is trying to buy, you're going to be limited. Likewise, if you're buying when everyone is trying to sell, now you have an upper hand.

I usually look for great deals, but I won't spend a lot on things when I know it's cheap and durable. The only time I'll put on big bucks on something (almost never) is when I know the quality will make a long-lasting difference. Otherwise, I'm a big coffee shop spender, but even there, I'm really not that bad compared to other people lol!

Best advice for going cheap on food is the food you grow at home, works the best for vegans but for meat eaters if you hunt, fish, trap, homestead being a meat eater can also be cheap and healthy... And possibly prosperous as well, selling what ever excess to/through restaurants and/or farmer's market.

I buy most of my clothes at second hands stores , the money I have left over in budget goes into savings . It’s better to not be flaunting and just be cheap because it’s earth friendly / a t shirt for 99 cents or for $5 you do the math .

Shawn Crawford I love thrifting. I started a couple of months ago because I needed a lamp and Ikea was too far away. Once I got in there I saw well-heeled shoppers there finding nice pieces and I never looked back. My wardrobe is much better quality now than it's ever been and I've spent much much less. Better for the environment than fast fashion too.
@athnuachan119
@athnuachan119 6 лет назад
Heath Weber I thought the same until I went to the Salvation Army store nearby. The people that shop and donate there are well-heeled and frankly all you need is to wash the clothes twice with bleach (even with darks and colors you can use half a cup of bleach I've found). No bathing suits, shoes or undies though. I mean, I borrow my friend's clothes from time to time, this isn't that different. Depends on the place.

Love your mind set. As a mechanic I say that people should not be cheap on car maintenance. I would see it all the time where people would not do proper maintenance and then get mad when all their neglect hits at once. Instead of changing the oil on a regular schedule, now they need an engine.

If you look at a lot of billionaires they don't look like they spend a lot of money on clothes.
@silentstormstudios
@silentstormstudios 6 лет назад
I can't say that I necessarily agree with this. They might not wear a lot of clothing with gaudy flashy labels, but if you actually looked into what they were wearing, you'd find that they are often very high quality, but understated, clothing. But, I will say that it's really more important that the clothes you have fit well more than that they are expensive or from a high-end designer. If you have a modest suit tailored correctly, it will look far better than an expensive suit that isn't.

You are 100% correct. There are some things that SHOULD NOT be negotiated. True story: I caught a criminal case and sought out a lawyer with great history in beating my kind of charges. His rate was $5,000, I talked him down to $3,500. He got me 15 months in house (incarcerated) on a DEAL! So many losses - opportunity cost, $3,500, material possessions, a few chicks and my freedom. Lol. No laughing matter, but a VALUABLE lesson learned. I will never negotiate on my life again.

As a mechanic for a living, a mechanic in my circle of friends, my neighborhood and everyone who knows me; I’ve seen a lot of unnecessary catastrophic - high dollar repairs on vehicles, only because ppl don’t make the adequate/necessary maintenance on their vehicles. DON’T CUT CORNERS OR SKIP THE DUE MAINTENANCE OR SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE ON YOUR VEHICLE, because you will pay later.

Rather than being cheap. Be reserved. Reserve your money for necessities and assets so you can get ahead. The value has to outweigh the price to justify buying it. Just like your story about the $500 shirts. They won’t make you any extra money in comparison to the $20 shirts you’d normally wear...

Win win scenario at the end. Sales is all about incentives. In real estate quick sale is needed to go to the next deal. In retail when buying like for like products why pay more food milk, biscuits and so on.

Baldeep Birak that's my motto. Why pay more when you can pay less? I do love bargain shopping and am not above Dollar Tree and Dollarama for like products, and many times they will sell brand names. I take the savings from items like these (it really does add up) and put it in investments.

The items that I use everyday I spend extra like food, winter boots, properly fit clothing and books. Books I often rent or buy used. Items from which I get very little utility, I refrain from buying such as multiple televisions, extra electronics and gaming systems or items that lead to addictive habits. Mac products I buy used because they are durable. I do my best to ignore the idea of what the item should be and see it for what it is, i.e. generic.

Hello Jaspreet. Love your channel so so much. Being here a few days and already my savings have doubled. My opinion... Going cheap with consumer items can also be stupid. A high quality leather item(belt,shoes,watchstrap,seat)will last you longer than a cheap low quality one and end up being cheaper if u factor in the number of times you need replacement.

Re: property sales - I like your approach, it's a clever way of thinking about and doing it. And yes, I'm "cheap" in that I only send more if the need or gain justifies it. My car for example is ~12 years old and I often get asked when I'm going to buy a newer one but given that my current is both cheap to run and reliable why spend 8-10k when I don't need to?

Upgrading your current phone to the latest phone every year. I still have the Samsung S3. Buying the latest video game every time it comes out that costs around £50 when you can just watch a gameplay of it on RU-vid or buy it later on when it's below £20. I admit I did this with God of War. I bought on day of release. It was £50. But I don't do this every time when the latest game comes out. Days Gone is coming out tomorrow. You could just about rationalize the $600 belt, but it would be difficult to tell how much more money you're generating with an alternative image supplied by the belt. For such an experiment you would need a control Jaspreet passing out flyers and another Jaspreet passing out flyers wearing an Hermès or LV belt. Then you could measure the event commitments and hope that no other dynamics are affecting the divergence in resulting sales.

TOOLS: U can pay upfront for good stuff that'll work Hard & Last - - - OR you can go to the Cheap "Bargain Outlet" and buy endless rounds of garbage that WILL break - - - Do you want 1 $300 drill that'll perform ~ Or 6 $50 pieces of junk that'll end up in the can?

What if I only need to drill ONE hole ? Do I buy $50 or $300 one ? See the problem here, you actually can't tell if you ever need a certain tool ever again. Best way to solve it is ... return the item.

I agree for certain tools like a torque wrench or multimeter but I have been super content with my harbor freight impact sockets for $26 vs $300+ off the tool truck

That commission idea makes so much sense. A great tool indeed. I’m not into real estate 🏡 unless you count my own home but I’ll definitely be holding on to this knowledge. Thanks.

I sell house insurance for a living. The biggest area I see people being cheap on his their dwelling settlement. House costs 90K but it's built in 1920 in Michigan and costs well over that to rebuild it. People will rather save $200 on their annual premium to insure the home based only off that market at the time vs insuring it for how much a full reconstruction would be. It might not be a terrible idea for investment properties but you're essentially making yourself homeless if it's ever destroyed.

Be cheap on things where price doesn't equate to quality or is going to last and do its job. A cheap pair of jeans will do just fine, a used phone from years ago might still do fine for a few more years. Generic brand food isn't much different than name brand. Etc. Etc. Only increase how much you can't afford to be cheap when you need something extra. Don't pay people cheap to do work for you. There are a lot of areas that I can't think of at the top of my head where paying a little extra on a product or service will save you time, money, and hassle.

Don't be cheap on shoes! Rich people (and even just normal people) notice your shoes and judge you based on them. You'll close off a lot of opportunities if you wear crummy shoes. Cheap shoes also wear out a lot faster, so you'll end up spending more on them. One thing that sounds crazy but is true: If you have two pairs of decent shoes, and you alternate pairs (one pair one day, the other pair the next), and you use shoe trees, they will last longer than if you were to wear one pair exclusively until they wear out, then wearing the next pair. The reason is your shoes need a chance to dry out, and they don't dry out properly over night (especially without shoe trees). Shoe trees also help the shoes keep their shape.

You should do a video on cheap versus frugal. Lydia Senn did one,but it's worth repeating. My husband and I buy 6 packs of toilet paper for a dollar. We have to, due to being on a very tight budget. My makeup, dollar store. Diabetic sugar,dollar General. If you don't have to, don't spend hella money on anything. My diabetic sugar might not be name brand sweet and low,but it is exactly the same thing, just a cheaper version. Kinda like name brand versus generic or store brand. It's the same product inside of that package. With name brand or designer, all you pay for is the name, not the actual products.

I see a lot of people commenting not to go cheap on food. You can go cheap on food and you should go cheap on food. Jaspreet is often munching on sweet potato. This is the time of year to buy up on them when they are around .39 per pound. Learning to scratch make your food you are going to save big time money and raise the quality of what you are eating at the same time. Avoid the frozen food isle, some of the most expensive food is found there and it is in little trays being sold for $1.00. The shocker is could of made it your self with better ingredients for about 1/2 the price. Don't shop at Whole Paycheck, Shop At Aldi's come on now people.

only exceptions to the frozen aisle - frozen peas, corn , spinach and berries they are handy and don't go bad . Shop in ethnic stores for rice, beans/lentils, herbs (bulk buy and chop , then freeze in ziplok bags)

Michiana prepper, good idea. Really like like-minded pp abt food habits. Buying the seasonal cheap groceries to cook fav dish converted to one pot mtd and feast for several days with min cooking time. Only tat must remember to heat to boil before eat and fridge after eat. Sweet potatoes, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cabbages are the cheapest. One pot tat last a week only cost a few dollars. Much more nutritious and sumptuous than retailed cooked food. Clothes and shoes no need to buy. If need, juz buy second hand fr family. I haf hse. Those who dont, just live in van and bathe in rain in bathing suits. Cook using tealight candles and supplement with fire fr free twigs. Switch shampoo and facial cleaser to dishwashing detergent. Dont exercise, just conserve that energy by sweeping floor and doing hsewk. Dont see doctor, dont buy medicine or bottled vitamins, just sleep early 8pm, health become super strong. Earn money fr enterprise and job but dont spend. Financial freedom begin now. My husband used to be v spendthrift but now he models after me. I bot or take fr the stuff tat he doesnt wan. Now he also take the stuff tat i dont wan instead of buying latest gadgets. I m surprised tat so quickly my family and neighbors model after me. I used to haf a really spendthrift neighbor. Now we use each other unwanted stuff. When we both dont wan, we just pass to the next neighbor or fren. Sometimes culture can changed quickly by just one person! I find my community culture has become less materialistic less greedy more loving kinder more tender. We dont even buy pets. We just feed and play with the strays. The strays r v well fed and friendly to us as if they r our pets. But they go where the food is best. And may disappear for days.

Clothes/shoes: I try to be as cheap as possible. No need for Gucci because I can't afford it. Car Parts/ Repairs: always get good/high quality stuff if you want it to last a long time. Cheap parts break easy and you spend more money buying cheap parts and paying for labor multiple times, instead of forking over some more cash for high quality parts that you only need to replace once
