Speaking of periodization, in particular weekly programming... I would like to know if there is any suggested volume (meaning total number of repetitions per sequence). Thanks to the three of you.

My Sensei once challenged us to train a certain count every day for a month. In 30 days, I had done my Kata over 600 times. The process became monotonous, not fun, but I did it anyway thinking it would not change my abilities much. Now, years later, I can be told any kata at any time and perform. I can start a Kata half way through and finish without thinking of "the next move is..." At that time, I was able to be far more specific in my training because I wasted no thought process in the basic Kata. Kind of like driving a car when you don't think about how to steer or how to use pedals anymore. I would say the balance is training often, but if it feels monotonous, take a break. Challenge yourself and be specific in your goals for each Kata. I like the video mentioned "fun." That is a good gauge!
