fantastic video.There are so many top 100 players in the world that can't, or don't, share this type of content and explain things in a way that anyone can understand. I was heavy into playing music all throughout my childhood, and we used the same concept of overcorrecting things in the opposite direction of the error to help find the middle ground. this advice works in everything!

This is top quality coaching. I've been playing TT for a few years now and have only recently started working with a coach. The mistakes you've highlighted are super relevant to what I'm trying to correct at the moment. Part of the issue is understanding what I'm doing wrong and why, you've done a great job of explaining that, plus your methods of correcting the issues has me very excited to hit up the robot this week. Thank you for the quality content!

As someone who switched hands a couple of years ago and rebuilt from scratch, these tips are solid gold. The ones I found most useful for myself are 1) stopping the shoulder to improve recovery and 2) open to closed angle. Agree that open to closed is optimal but I was doing too much wrist rotation/manipulation when I started open and tried to close during the stroke. Had to really work on it. Starting with a slightly closed angle (6around 60 degrees) actually reduced my errors since I didn't move the wrist much during the stroke.
@zizo015
@zizo015 9 месяцев назад
I think you could see the first point from a different perspective too.. A lot of people tend to stop too early .. So exaggerating the rotation with with hand swing and shoulder (whole body), will help a lot. It was a tipp from a coach and it improved my forehand tremendously. Once you get it you can then shorten the rotation depending on the ball and the time you have and also depending on how much power you want to impart into the shot.. Most important thing ist to lift the elbow throw the shot and keep it high and forward regardless of how much you rotate.. For topspin against block/topspin you can control it by letting the bat FH face, inner upper arm and forearm point downward at the end on the same plane. This Wil make sure that you lift and keep the elbow high ending the shot with the bat over the left eye.. It also insures a stable swing plane and a stable bat angle .. So the elbow starts low in the backswing and moves higher through the shot on a stable plane.. Keeping the elbow stable through the shot ist really a key for the all forehand topspin shots.. In the past I thought it only relevant for the backhand.. Hope you get what I tried to explain.. Try it and let me know😀
