Are You SMART??? - Interpretation of the 5th Lord & House (Phaladipika 16.15) 

In addition to his absolutely beautiful figures, I love how Leonardo always took his time to do what he did. He would have never developed his oil paint glazing technique if he had always been in a hurry. He was never in a hurry ... he did what he did, informed by his own perception and intuition and rhythm. I think he carried Mona Lisa around with him for a number of years... not rushing to finish her, but lovingly nurturing her creation... over time. Most definitely a very high quality Saturn and 5th house confluence with Leonardo ❤.

Mantreshwara focused on 'mother' while explaining house #4 but interestingly, chose the topic of 'intelligence' over 'children' while explaining 5. Yet, he chose the word 'saumya' or Mercury who is child of moon as per the lore. I wonder if it was intended or coincidence :) Thanks Vic for the additional note on role of Saturn. Vic, interesting point you brought up about Saturn influences on Intelligence! Do you consider Uranus too can affect being smart?

My mercury in Libra is close to the cusp of the 5th house. But Mercury is in its debilitated (albeit benefic) amsa in Pisces. I also have Saturn from the 8th house looking at the 5th house with its 10th aspect. It doesn't help that Saturn is in my 3rd house in both D9 and D10. I have always believed i have ADHD and find it very hard to not float away with my thoughts. I do think i move in life and think 'slowly'. I do rue the dynamism others are able to invite in their lives.

Also, My 5th house cusp is in cancer Amsa. Mercury in the 5th (Leo sign), in Taurus Amsa. 5th lord Sun, in Cancer sign, Virgo Amsa.

Vic, could saumyarksamse (सौम्या अर्क अंशे) also mean Saumya or Mercury in the navamsha of Sun? Mercury Sun conjunction is Budhaditya yoga known to impart knowledge and wisdom to a native.

To the extent that I have any brains at all, it shows up more vividly in the Four Pillars Chinese chart. If you interpret the Jyotish chart with aspects and conjunctions as seen by the Greeks, my 5th house starts to look a bit better.

I have Jupiter in the 5th and don't think I'm smart. Always working hard. I'm in the legal field, which keeps you on your toes and never feeling "smart."

I have Venus in Virgo and Virgo amsa same degree as ascendant. My life truly does not look like a domiciel Venus :D I have a very intelligent and kind spouse but otherwise... not great! I know there is more to any horoscope but hearing this just sounded funny to my ear.

Very very vague .even in charts of well known personalities whose life events r well know the interpretation of the. Alignment s r completely missing .vague disjointed perfunctuary.einstiens bios r easily available so fitting the chart with his life events shud not b difficult alife chart cannot b interpreted in a couple of sentences since theser very well known very well documented lives behavioral patterns and life events . matching interpretation s with their lives is completely missing .even youngsters trained by kn rao. Intheir twenties do a far better job in both general info as well as interpretation.
