A gym is just another form of a community, and a community can only thrive if everyone is doing their part. And cleaning up after yourself - and doing it correctly - is proper gym etiquette no matter where you are.
There is a reason it is rule number one in every gym I have ever been in. It's the simplest bit of courtesy you can provide, but also the most overlooked. ALWAYS RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHTS!!! If you can put it on, you can take it back off. The next person may not be able to. I know you are a small gym and maybe can't take the membership hit, but if it's a real problem you might have to start kicking people out for it. Maybe just for the day, or for a set period of time. Maybe banning for repeat offenders that don't get the progressive discipline. As long as you make the rule clear and treat people fairly by the rules you set out you should be able to avoid too much conflict. You could even make a game out of it. The jackwagon that doesn't re-rack his weights has to wear a stupid hat for the rest of the day or something. Make a spectacle of it to encourage others to apply social pressure. Then, if they are really an ass about it, start implementing real consequences.
Ya, my girlfriend couldn't move that. Sometimes at the end of the workout she's waiting at our next exercise for me to move just the 45s. Heck, at the end of a tough 2hr workout, my back might be so pumped and hurting I don't wanna tackle a 100 either.
Sounds like a new fangled bud light gym I wouldn't want to go to at all. Stand your ground as men and not as some wah wah.. Can't even say what I want because I'll be reported by the same people who go to that new bud light gym
